Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

I'm glad I'm not the only one..DH ordered a travel system last night!! We'd already agreed on which one we wanted and it was £500 cheaper at the moment so he went ahead and bought it! I refuse to get anything else until the scan at least Blush

Hi. Can I join. Bfp on the 2nd after 13 cycles and 1 missed mc. Due around mid September. Going to ask gp for an early scan this time round to put my mind at rest xx

Stellarbella · 04/01/2018 13:21

Hi all,

Got my BFP yesterday, and am due 9 September. Can I join you? First baby for me.

Am trying to keep chilled about the whole thing, as I am terrified that something will go wrong. So other than DH, you will be the only people I can talk to about things!

snowy1982 · 04/01/2018 13:25

Welcome stowie and stellar and congrats on BFP Grin

PinkyPromise77 · 04/01/2018 13:46

My hubby doesn’t even want to get excited or tell anyone until I confirm the test with the digital one... I will Wait until Saturday as that’s my date of first missed period on one of the apps... fingers crossed it’s positive... and all is well. The line didn’t darken on my cheapie test much last 48h so I hope everything is ok... should I start worry if it doesn’t get darker by tomorrow?

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 04/01/2018 13:52

I'm not buying anything yet. 1 - it's far too early for me personally and 2 - I have a just 22 month old DD so we've actually got pretty much everything we need already. I'm getting a Chicco Next to You crib this time (DDs was borrowed and has been returned) and I really want an Ergo 360 sling, I borrowed a standard Ergo when DD was born and loved it.

Other than that, I need some new milk bibs and that's it. Except if this baby is a boy we'll need some cute boy bits. If it's a girl, we're all set!

Peachesandcream15 · 04/01/2018 14:25

Hi

Just got a positive test. This will be our 2nd baby. TTC for 3 months.
Had HG last time so will be heading over to the HG support thread shortly I'm sure! Feeling nervous about that but at least I know what to expect this time and will be heading to the GP for meds at the first hint of sickness.

snowy1982 · 04/01/2018 15:21

DH and I don’t plan to tell people until at least after 12w scan if not later.

So, is anyone else feeling very emotional?? I just had a meltdown in work, have took myself home early to try and calm myself down a bit Sad

PinkyPromise77 · 04/01/2018 15:57

Oh @snowy1982 :( hope you feel better soon... I watch Disney movies to cheer myself up... works every time! Hehehe obviously slightly a big kid there but hey ho they always make me feel good :)

I’m ok now, came home early and took pups out for a walk, always clears the head.

Just been let down by a staff member during our busiest time of the year so on top of my own workload I now have theirs to do and just had a bit of a meltdown about it. Need to learn to keep calm and keep things in perspective

Coconutcrush · 04/01/2018 18:54

Hello from me. I'm new to Mumsnet as I seem to be a hormonal maniac today and need to vent. I'm due 10/09/2018 and found out on new years day! It will be our first baby. I'm very lucky because it was our first attempt and we're quite shocked. But I'm also super anxious about baby's health. I just started to come down with bad cough, temp, feeling rough etc so started panicking about flu. Ended up telling my mother in law in tears while my husband is working away, not how we wanted to tell her. The Dr is going to see me tomorrow but it took some convincing him. I had to phone out of hours, and then I sent him away to look at the guidelines before he agreed.

AyeAyeFishyPie · 04/01/2018 20:32

Hello! I'm due 2nd Sep, first baby. Conceived first cycle so really shocked!

Pinkslink17 · 04/01/2018 20:54

This is a random one - I am feeling disgustingly massive and not just the bloat. My weight fluctuates between 10-11 st (size 10-12) and I'm feeling bigger than ever which is normal after no gym and over indulging over Christmas..however I'd usually hammer the gym in jan to bring it back down and I just don't have it in me! I'm knackered and don't want to risk any harm to the baby! Realistically I'll be able to sort out my eating and go to the gym 3 times a week, plus assisting DH on the dog walk a couple of times a week around work. I'm not naive and think I'll put no weight on and bounce straight back, however at 5 weeks surely I can control it a little better for the first few months?! Any tips or advice on staying healthy/lean during pregnancy?

Pinkslink17

I wouldon't say just see how you feel.
This is my 3rd pregnancy and so far all 3 have been different. Currently only about 5 wks pregnant.
One thing that was the same in my last twone pregnancies was water retention. Blew up like a balloon lol.
Also suffered with high blood pressure.
Just listen to your body and do what's right but I would wait to get the first 3 mths out the way first.

My life isn't exactly perfect right now. Got some stressful times ahead so I am hoping to try and keepilepsy the stress levels down.

PinkyPromise77 · 04/01/2018 21:42

@AyeAye @Crabby same here... 1st attempt and here we are 😱 I’m sure my DH will still try to claim it’s all thanks to him and his super swimmers... 😂

PinkyPromise77 · 04/01/2018 21:45

@pinkslink I think I’m in the same boat... don’t want to get huge. I had brilliant healthy diet and lost 1 stone (didn’t need more as I’m pretty small anyway) but worried I will get huge.

I will follow my healthy eating plan and use my supplements as they are all natural and probably go swimming... do you guys think swimming is ok during first 3 months? I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question!!!! 🙈

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 04/01/2018 21:51

@PinkyPromise77 Swimming is fine all the way through in fact it's excellent exercise for pregnancy especially as you get bigger because your weight is supported.

Exercise in pregnancy is good for you and baby. Unless you have any existing medical issues, then it's fine to just continue with what you usually do as long as you feel up to it - obviously things like heavy weightlifting or boxing mightn't be a wise idea but your normal standard cardio etc is fine. Being fit and well in pregnancy will hopefully stand you in good stead for recovery afterwards.

dingdongdigeridoo · 04/01/2018 22:03

Swimming is recommended by midwives. It’s also great for late pregnancy as it’s so low impact. I wish I was a better swimmer. I’m so slow that I don’t dare to do lengths.

I went to the gym while pregnant with DS. Had to wear a heart monitor bracelet thing just to ensure I didn’t push myself too hard. But other than not being able to lift weights over my head, I was fine.

BlueberryClouds · 04/01/2018 22:05

Yeah I'm planning on swimming and instructor led pilates throughout. I feel massive right now. I think it's bloating and Christmas over indulgence. I don't think I will be able to survive work on my old lunch though so I'm going to up my food intake with fruit and cottage cheese. I could have eaten my dinner twice over this evening!!

MonaTheMoaner · 04/01/2018 22:05

Joining! I’m exactly 5 weeks pregnant today but have known since Christmas Eve. This is DC3 for us (9 & 7 currently) and due 6th September. First early scan next Friday to check everything is okay.

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 04/01/2018 22:12

@BlueberryClouds I'm the same, starving! I made a huge vat of yummy vegetable soup today and I've been having a bowl of that when I've felt like snacking - get more nutrients in, instead of picking at rubbish. I don't know why I'm so hungry, you don't need any extra calories until the last 12 weeks and even then it's not much more! Baby is the size of a poppy seed at the moment, he/she certainly doesn't need feeding up ha ha ha.
