Am I one of the first?
Been testing since I was 12 days away from period and got positives, now I'm 8 days away and got a clear result on clearblue! Half scared of it being twins!

Got my doctors on jan 8th :) to confirm my pregnancy as il be around 7 weeks by then

Flu jab went well yesterday, just a tad sore but other than that as I've self referred to the midwives my dr's don't want to see me for anything which I'm happy enough with for now

How does it work getting an appt with a midwife? I moved house in the summer and haven't got found to switching doctors. I went to my old one last week and they were terrible so I rang and am going to sign up to a new local one tomorrow. Shall I just tell them straight away that I've had a positive test and need to see a midwife? I'm extremely lucky in that I live very local to the local Birthing Centre and hospital so won't have to travel far wherever the midwife appts will be, and hopefully I get a nice one I'm not good with doctors surgeries!

Hi PeterPanWendy,
I have a similar issue in that I've moved since I last registered and I'm moving again in April. Has been a bit of a 'mare really. I've spent the best part of 2 hours in a surgery and 30 minutes on the phone and I still don't have a midwife appointment, but I'm developing a real loathing of receptionists. Long story short, you can sign up for a midwife with your old surgery but you won't be eligible for home visits, you can get your notes transferred at any point if you choose to switch. I'm opting for the switch now to prevent chaos down the line strategy... not sure it's working yet but we'll see.
All I can do otherwise is wish you good luck and a lot of patience Smile x

@Kiki275 oh what a nightmare! I could stay at my old surgery it's only a few miles away but they are useless! So going to hope for the best with this new one.

21st August for me! Or at least that's what the due date predictor apps suggest. That would be a lovely date as it would have been my grandparent's wedding anniversary.
I've not got many symptoms as yet - this is my second (DD is 4 now) so I'm just waiting for it all to kick in like last time. Occasionally I'll get a bit of a wave of nausea but then its gone. Boobs are a bit sore and massive and I'm a bloated. But that's about it. I was shattered last week but seem to be a bit better this week!

We were only TTC for one month Blush I was hoping to get Christmas out of the way before all this happened! But I'm happy as well because it means that I'll be off work when DD starts school so I can take her and drop her off (we were going to be relying on grandparents or me dropping hours) and then hopefully drop down to part time hours when I go back to work and I'll have still had my mat leave pay at full whack Smile

Check if you could self refer yourself to your midwife? I had a choice of two hospitals here (in London) and they both had self referral forms on their website, they said they then tell your go so could be easier than going through gate keeper receptionist.
I've just had a letter with my scan appointment for 6th Feb, all beginning to feel more real!

Cakelaur · 08/01/2018 21:04

How’s everyone getting on? Nice xmas new year? I’ve got my booking appointment on Thursday! 😊 and then an early scan in a week!! Eek!!

unicorncow · 08/01/2018 21:10

@Cakelaur I've got my booking appointment tomorrow morning and had an early scan on the 28th Dec, hopefully I'll get my 12 week scan date at my appointment tomorrow :) I'm due around the 16th Aug

Sorry all. It replied. Turns out Hyperemesis Gravidarum is really not nice! Been signed off work and now getting very fed up! Starting to have a few good days!
Told parents on a Christmas Day and they were totally shocked! Made for a magical family Christmas!
How has everyone else been?

Cakelaur · 18/01/2018 18:59

Hi ladies. Had my scan on Tuesday and sadly there was no heartbeat so I will be leaving this thread. I wish you all the best with your August babies. I’ll now be ttc my 🌈. Xx
