Am I one of the first?
Been testing since I was 12 days away from period and got positives, now I'm 8 days away and got a clear result on clearblue! Half scared of it being twins!

Me too! I cannot believe it. Got a really strong positive this morning after trying to get pregnant with first child for nearly 5 years Grin

How am I going to get anything at all done today?

Cakelaur · 12/12/2017 11:26

Congrats ladies!!! So exciting!! Welcome welcome. Love that the group is filling up. I’ve just joined a uk August due dates in fb. I’ll see if I can get a link.

Cakelaur · 12/12/2017 11:29

Hi ladies,

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!! I got my BFP this morning Grin Very unexpected as DH and I only started TTC this month. I never even bothered to check when I was ovulating, just thought we'd enjoy the process to start with. According to a few pregnancy calculators, the due date is 29th August 2018.

Like most of you, I'm not sure when we should start telling people. DH says to keep it quiet, but I've told my mum (I'll want to tell her if anything untoward happens with the pregnancy, even though it's early days). I've also told one of my oldest and dearest friends (I'm an only child and she's like a sister). I'll try to keep it quiet from work until the 12 week scan but I may need to tell them sooner due to the nature of my work.

Is anyone starting to get symptoms?? I have the DRIEST mouth known to man and my appetite has definitely increased. I can only imagine what other symptoms lie ahead as the weeks progress...

Hana327 · 13/12/2017 21:41

@Cakelaur does that go public for other people to see on your Facebook? Do you know?

Strawberrythief87 · 13/12/2017 22:16

Hello I'm joining you all as well. We had the faintest of faint BFP on Sunday which we followed with tests getting darker on Monday and this morning so think I'm just about believing it now! I should be due on Aug 17th if all goes well. It was our first cycle trying and with it being such early days I think we're feeling unable to quite believe it or get excited just yet! Few symptoms so far but just very achy boobs light indigestion and feel nauseous going past smokers
Just me a DH know so far, we're still working out who we're going to tell as we're staying with family at xmas and it'll be quite obvious as I love my cheese and wine but I want to generally not tell people till we have our 12 week scan.
Congrats everyone, looking forward to the journey!

Sparklesdontshine · 13/12/2017 22:35

@hana327 no it's a closed group so doesn't show up on your feed

Hana327 · 14/12/2017 18:37

Thanks!
Can I just ask people are you absolutely exhausted? I feel I have no energy to continue my job anytime after lunchtime. I have got this horrible cold as well. Wondering if it's just me?

MamOfFrankie · 14/12/2017 21:08

I am nackered as well. Not sure if it is just the fact that this half term has been so long though!

Cakelaur · 14/12/2017 22:36

Sorry you guys are feeling so rough. At 4 weeks today I don’t feel much different! I have the odd cramp/stitch and my boobs hurt. But I don’t feel too tired or sick. I fact I’ve lost my appetite a little, I just want fruit teas constantly, and I can’t seem to sleep (although I’m sure this is due to excitement of telling people next week)

Hana327 · 15/12/2017 06:50

@Cakelaur that's exactly how I felt at 4 weeks. this week however I'm exhausted lol

Glad I'm not the only tired one.

Cakelaur · 15/12/2017 08:28

@Hana327 I know it’ll hit me at some point! I was a little worried about how I feel nothing.

How’s everyone else doing today? When’s everyone planning on telling family/friends?

NelleB · 15/12/2017 09:30

@Cakelaur I am exactly the same as you date wise but grumpy as anything this week!! Cannot get comfortable and have a slight stitch.

We are planning on telling my immediate family tomorrow as we're having Christmas a week early due to my sisters wedding on Christmas eve and there's no way I am going to get away with not drinking in front of them. They know something will be amiss. I've had Christmas cards made I tell them x

Cakelaur · 15/12/2017 10:56

@NelleB congrats!! So fun! I think we’ll be telling our parents wed next week. We were going to totally announce on xmas day. But it’s my parents first grandchild and I think they’d like to be told on their own. We’re hosting both sides of our families this xmas. So on xmas day my other half’s son is going to open a babygrow saying ‘you’re gonna be a big brother’ and he will then announce it to everyone else!! Cannot wait to see all their faces. My dad cannot wait to be a grandfather.

NelleB · 15/12/2017 16:56

@Cakelaur that is just too sweet!! I love that idea! X

Hana327 · 15/12/2017 19:18

We are planning to tell my family on Christmas Day. Not decided how yet. Think I might wrap a baby present up for them to open. Not too sure. Happy to hear how others doing it

unicorncow · 15/12/2017 19:51

Congratulations, we got our BFP about 2 weeks ago and it was our second month of trying 😊

User561738489948 · 16/12/2017 12:31

Can I join? Been trying a year and finally pregnant! Due 12th August Smile

Strawberrythief87 · 16/12/2017 13:17

I'm another whos exhausted here, planning on napping through most of my xmas break!
We're going to tell my mum this week over a coffee when we're out getting all the last cheeses etc for Xmas as she'll notice anyway (we'll be 6 weeks by then) and in-laws when we see them just after Xmas (when we'll be 7 weeks). No big announcements I don't think just a chat.
Our siblings, grandparents etc we're going to wait till we reach 12 weeks in early Feb before any announcements but we've agreed we're not going to lie to them if people ask. It's all so tough and we're very aware anything could happen at this point. Also we've got family members who have struggled to conceive and some who have had multiple miscarriages so we really don't to make it into a 'thing' for them

Cakelaur · 16/12/2017 22:25

Congrats ladies. Welcome to the group. How are everyone’s symptoms getting on? I seem to be struck down each day around 3pm for about an hour or so. And my other half is gonna have to get a different deodorant. I was gagging like crazy when he put it on today!!! Haha

peterpanwendy · 17/12/2017 07:32

Hi can I join?! Got my BFP last night and again this morning to confirm!
23, first baby, due August! Over the moon x

Kiki275 · 17/12/2017 08:51

Morning all. Not sure if baby related or not but I'm wide awake. DH wakes/gets up at 5.30 latest and then I can't get back to sleep, sometimes I'm awake before him. NEVER been a problem before Xmas Sad. No nausea as yet.
On the plus side it is great to be awake without a gin/wine-fuzzed head. Still in the habit though of not moving when I wake up whilst I mentally assess the damage from a night out, then smile when I realise I'm completely okay. Not drinking whilst not saying though is hard!! Everyone keeps commenting. I've told immediate family but really don't want it going any further. Folk are even shocked to see me drive as usually DH will, I keep saying it's his turn x

Strawberrythief87 · 17/12/2017 09:15

Kiki I'm getting the waking up super early and being unable to get to sleep again, looked it up and it could be the hormones but I also feel it could be excitement.
My other symptoms are just general fatigue, sore boobs, burping/ indigestion (which is super unusual for me and was my first indicator I might be pregnant) and occasionally feeling nausea at certain smells e.g people smoking, cleaning products etc.

dancingunicorns123 · 17/12/2017 09:51

I found out I'm pregnant 4 days ago! AF was due today but no signGrin according to an app I'm due 26th AugustSmile

Kiki275 · 17/12/2017 18:18

Congrats @dancingunicorns, Thanks @strawberryfields, apart from a few very early symptoms I had which made me suspicious, I now have no signs at all. Apart from the lack of AF I wouldn't now know. Touch wood it will stay that way although I suspect it'll hit me soon double x
