I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Oh wow Ons you are a bloody trooper and you have all my admiration and wow to baby Ons sounds like it was a massive ordeal for you both. Lots of love and cuddles being sent your way.

Weasel I really wanted with every fibre of my being for you to have some good news. I’m so sorry it has played out like this. It was actually a post by Bluespottytiger I noticed and thought I’d read through to see how she was doing as I recall her being on the thread briefly. Then I spotted your news and I just felt awful and didn’t want to bother you as it’s enough to deal with. If you do decide to try again you will have us all cheering you on for sure.

Shehz21 · 10/11/2017 09:38

justtheonethen Some posts though 😂

Mustang27 · 10/11/2017 09:40

Just I’m actually loving the pumpkin that was definitely a penis Grin I have tbh that’s definitely a troll and the actual picture looks nothing like a penis. Is it just me or the fact that it’s not a giant mouldy mess by now is what impressed me the most lol

spearo21 · 10/11/2017 09:43

So 29+2 weeks... Still suffering with HG :( I am miserable. I'm not being sick so much during the day but still being sick every day but still just constant nausea, tiredness and now itching. Was also diagnosed yesterday with Obstetric Cholestasis. I had this with my first pregnancy too so was fully expecting it but I just feel so down and weepy today. I will be induced a bit earlier they said but one MW said like 39-40 weeks but I was last induced at 38 weeks.. Hmm.. I'm going to see if I can push it to 38 weeks as I just don't know how much longer I can cope with this. This has been such a long long slog and there has not been one single day that I have felt "normal" Just want a break from it all. So I am PRAYING that I get to go a bit earlier. Hope everyone is having a sick free day! I know I defo am not :( Just glad that they are monitoring the OC this time as it went unmonitored the first time and I almost lost my boy because of it. Now got to go in every week for bloods and traces and I'll get 2 weekly growth scans so I'll get to see my baby boy a good few times before he is here which is the only good thing!!

Mustang27 · 10/11/2017 09:59

Oh Spearo that is bloody awful just what you need on top of hg Hmm. I hope they go with 38 weeks too as the worry the longer it goes on for is not ideal either.

I’m nearly 35 weeks and the sickness is killing me again plus I’m so tired, like bone tired lifting my arms above my head feels like a work out. Iv been trying to ignore and taking minimustang to toddler classes, park and swimming most days not all 3 just one Confused a day but I think I’m actually breaking myself. I have no idea where il find the energy to birth this baby. Sorry for the moan ladies

BlueButTrue · 10/11/2017 10:27

weasle I wish you all the luck and good blessings in the world, whatever your journey now Flowers

Mustang Oh bless you, you must feel horrendous. Moan away. I do it enough Grin

I’ve had to troop back into town today and I feel like I want to die Blush Not an exaggeration when you’re feeling sick and have what feels like a huge head pushing down into your pelvis.

Sick again at 4.30 this morning. I called for DH to help as I felt as if I was going to faint. He shouted back “I’m on the phone!” - He was, but only in his sleep Hmm

Shehz21 · 10/11/2017 10:29

Mustang Oh poor you. I wish I lived near Glasgow, would have happily helped out with Mini Mustang! That would have been better anyday than wait morosely for DH to get back from work.
5 more weeks or 7 more at the most, cheering for you Mustang! I am hoping it will be better birthing a newborn than actually being heavily pregnant with HG while having to look after an energetic toddler?

Spearo Ah really hoping you can convince them to induce you at 38 weeks. I am sure along with HG, the stress of OC is just too much for you now! Enjoy seeing your little one wriggling on the screen until he is finally wriggling in your arms while you enjoy all the FOODS. Cheering for you as well!

Oklahoma · 10/11/2017 10:29

Mustang that is the other problem with HG, you’re so run down and knackered by the end that finding the energy to birth the baby is almost impossible. I had a 48h labour with Oklette and it nearly killed me. I couldn’t tell them my own name by the end of it I was so delirious with exhaustion.

spearo21 · 10/11/2017 10:32

Oh Mustang, I feel you. I am the exact same way :( I can barely walk up my stairs at home without having to stop half way because it is simply too much. How will we cope in labour?!

Oh Shehz21 that is what i am looking forward to most haha eating without having to worry what it will feel like coming back up!! Not long now and only 6 weeks left of work!!!

BlueButTrue · 10/11/2017 10:33

Oklahoma How did you recover (somewhat) from that? Surely the answer is sleep of course but you just can’t with a newborn, can you?

I’m curious to know how I will manage to recover from the labour if I go naturally. Physically, I’ll be absolutely exhausted but I’ll also have a baby to care for so it’s not like it’ll all be over and rainbows and sunshine again :(

Shehz21 · 10/11/2017 10:34

Sorry Blue crossposted!
LOL @ DH being on the phone in his dream!Grin
Have you been able to pamper yourself a bit while you were in town?
Hope you have a good day, keep boosting yourself that you are probably next to go after Ons!

DeadDoorpost · 10/11/2017 10:42

Brief fleeting visit as I need to take my tablet and at something before going back to sleep. Didn't get to sleep until gone 5am this morning. And been woken by a phonecall. AGAIN. But at least this time it was someone telling me she's cooking me dinner tomorrow so that good at least. Don't have to worry.
I'll catch up and reply properly later on.
DH asked how everyone was last night. Caught him up. He says sorry to weasle and wow at nature

pippanippa · 10/11/2017 10:50

onnature that sounds like quite a birth you poor thing. Do your hospital offer the chance for a bit of a chat about it at your postnatal check up? - if so it might be worth taking up the opportunity, in a few weeks time or so as it can be helpful to talk through what happened/why/ask questions etc. I was very lucky and had a relatively uneventful birth last time round, though a poorly DD afterwards, but even so, I found it quite cathartic to be able to talk about it.

Spearo so sorry you are feeling so unwell, and in particular that on top of everything you have obstetric chosestatis to worry about, especially after having such a horrible experience of it last time round, but I'm glad they're monitoring you well.

Mustang I am so impressed you are managing to get out and about like that. I could only just about manage the trek to pick my daughter up from playgroup let alone the park. I had to stop even that last week as I was feeling the same way as you, just no energy, I couldn't physically do it any more it. DH has taken some annual leave so I now have a lovely childcare helper up until the due date. Dr. offered induction again today, and after a terrible couple of nights violent vomiting I am getting more tempted, but want to give the baby a bit more time to come of its own accord yet.

Sorry about the uncaring work seize it's so horrible being forgotten about like that. Glad the booking in appointment went well meadow, don't worry, I think it's just that it doesn't tend to magically disappear after the first trimester, but you do get more and more good days as time goes by generally. Natsku that appointment sounds really unhelpful, I hope you have success getting the medication though!

Weasle and two hope you're both doing ok, so sorry if I've missed anyone, thread is very busy these days.

Shehz21 · 10/11/2017 10:54

Spearo Working with HG! Heroes don't wear capes, they are big belly pregnant women who work despite having HG and mothers who take care of their existing DC while tackling HG Shock
You ladies deserve all the good things in the world after you are finally done with this long journey of pregnancy.

Mustang27 · 10/11/2017 10:57

Aww Dead your hubs is adorable. My oh got a new phone last night so mostly he did that.

Oh Blue I loves you you are a cracker, on the phone in his sleep Grin. To put your mind at ease a little you actually get a boost of hormones like oxytocin once you have given birth so oddly can feel quite good once baby is here considering what your body just did.

Oklahoma a 48hr labour god supposedly seconds are quicker but anything would be quicker than that. I was 19hrs which honestly was a walk in the park in comparison.

Stairs!!! Bloody stairs Spearo worst invention ever. How you coping with the itchiness on OC? I know it’s not the worse symptom but I imagine it’s the most annoying.

I’m thinking it will definitely be better Shehz you made me smile offering to help, thank you. Hehe imagine what we would look like we would probably have people concerned thinking “look at those two grey poorly preggers women chasing that mental toddler about” we would be entertaining at least lol.

Mustang27 · 10/11/2017 11:05

Xpost Pippa I’m so pleased you have help in the form of your oh. Id be with you completely, tempted but wouldn’t do it in hope that bump gets the message and evacuates of their own accord.

It takes me pretty much a whole day to do one activity and I’m lucky as mini still has a decent 1hr/2hr nap so I get to chill with him then and daddy now does shower time with him at bedtime so I get a kind of break then. Although I tend to spend it squaring away the kitchen and dinner dishes then crawling up to bed at 8.30 and staying there Blush.

Shehz21 · 10/11/2017 11:15

Pippa Lovely to hear that you can put your feet up a bit now that DH is here to look after you and your LO. If you do bite the bullet and agree for induction, I really hope it's not a bad experience as you are already going through so much. Let's cross fingers Baby Pip decides to make his/her appearance early, safe and healthy!

Mustang I'm chuckling at the last bit of your postGrin Can't blame the passerbys, we would look quite entertaining! Baby Mustang would probably freak out at the sight of me and my pack of sick bags tied around my waist(that's how I look atm, totally deranged!).

spearo21 · 10/11/2017 11:28

Well Mustang it hasn't been too bad at the moment!! I have been quite itchy at night but not to the point where I am losing sleep if you know what I mean. I was 30 weeks before it really kicked in with 1st pregnancy so I am fully expecting it to get a lot lot worse. They have given me medication to help bring my bile acids down and also piriton to take for the itch but only just picked them up from pharmacy this morning so we will see how we get on.......

Yes Shehz21 it's been such hard hard work I tell you. My work have thankfully been so good with me and it's all guys I work with too and they have been so good with me, I am definitely pampered at work haha But it has definitely been a life saver that I do just 26 hours a week although I don't think I have done a full week in quite some time now. But just 6 small weeks to go. I am counting down the days!!!!

Oklahoma · 10/11/2017 13:53

Blue the sheer elation of not feeling sick and being able to eat again made a huge difference. I ate and ate and ate and slowly built my strength back up. It took a while to be back to normal but even after a 48h labour I felt a million times better than I did with HG. The body is very good at healing.

Oklahoma · 10/11/2017 13:54

Spearo I really feel you. I don’t have OC but I have horrible horrible itching too (doctors helpfully don’t know why) and it is just torture

Emu31 · 10/11/2017 17:16

Sorry I haven't really posted much, I read your comments a lot and it really helps me when things are tough but my mental health/confidence has taken a bit of a bashing with all of this and sometimes I don't really know what to write myself. I hope you don't mind. I've written a blog post to get all of my thoughts out with the aim of explaining to people a bit more about HG and how to help someone going through it (as so many people don't seem to know anything about it or how to help) - I wrote it to share with my friends on facebook but then wondered whether it might help anyone else to explain to friends/family a bit more about what it's like. I know a lot of you have suffered much worse than I have and I'm really in awe of you ladies. This is such a lovely supportive space and very special I think. Anyway, here is the blog - please feel free to share it if it might help at all (or to ignore if not!)
