You seem to have loads there.. are you definitely staying overnight?

To be honest that looks fine to me, I'd leave the overnight bag in the car and then you can just bring it in if you need it. Worth having it though as you don't want to be trying to get your DP to pack the right stuff if you do have to stay in! Hopefully you'll be in and out but I ended up being in for over a week so doesn't hurt to be prepared.

More than likely with my medical history.

I've split it into three bags so only the labour and DP bag will be on delivery ward with us. Overnight one can come in from car if needed.

What would you exclude?

Ooh, you might want a dressing gown! Just a thin-ish one. I'd keep it all OP to be honest. If you don't need it just take it home and unpack it, no drama!

Flip flops for the shower

The only thing that sticks out to me is the hot water bottle, what’s that for? (In this specific scenario I mean, I know their general use!)

Take extra nighties or big t shirts for when you’re in labour. I was sick everywhere both times 😬

I also got wise and took some big bottles of water when I had DS2 as with DS1 I got sick of having to go fetch water from down the hall. You will be really dehydrated after labour and the wards are stiflingly hot.

A battery powered fan

Flapjacks or similar super high energy snacks
Your own paracetamol
Flip flops for the shower in favour of slippers

The hospital we were at provided all nappies, cotton balls, towels etc and even pads for me so worth checking. I was home 12 hours after having DS so didn't need half the stuff I'd packed.

If you can then leave most of it in the car until needed. There isn't much space in the ward.

I'd freeze big bottles of water to take in too. Cold water was all I could keep down once I was in labour.

Arnica- start taking it every 4hours through labour. It will help with bruising and healing.

A dummy - just in case. Horrid I know but when you are desperate you will be pleased

Infacol- for babies wind again just incase

Lavender oil for you to bath in after the birth

Anti-gay wipes for dirty hospital lavatories, thin rubber gloves to wear whilst in them, easier to peel off after handling the get my handle to get out. Bath cleaner and disposable cleaning cloths.

Charger.

Notebook and pen to note down info you might otherwise forget.

Why do you need a razor?

The overnight bag will remain in the car unless needed.

We've got snacks etc covered including juice and water.

Hot water bottle is for me, heat is the only thing to help my back and it will be used with warm water instead of hot. 😁

Ear plugs? Don't you need to hear baby? 🙄 I've never used them!

I can always send people out for extra nighties etc if needed, id trust my mother to find some decent ones lol dp not so much!

You Don't need decent nighties after giving birth. DH's old t shirts or something reduced from Primark will do.

Looks good but possibly a bit too much! I put each of babies outfits into a separate freezer bag (so 1 hat, vest, sleepsuit, bib, set of mits per bag), kept it organised and easily accessible - useful when I was numb from the waist down!

By decent I mean ones that fit and are appropriate and, yes, likely from primark... Not decent as on expensive or anything.
