I honestly can't remember a night where I was asleep before 11pm. Restless legs, heartburn, insomnia, terrible nightmares, sweating, dribbling, being sick in the night.
Oh god, it's so HARD. The days are fine but the nights are absolute hell on earth. Can't believe I have another 3 more weeks of this Sad anyone else in the same boat?

39 weeks today and getting some cramping and shooting pains in lower back and lower part of bump, but nothing resembling contractions.

Sorry to hear so many are struggling with their sleep. After a week of rising at 3am I've managed 2 nights of fairly decent sleep, albeit waking up every couple of hours for toilet but managing to get back each time.

ememem84 · 24/09/2017 11:25

39+3 here today.

Feeling very uncomfortable. Stretchy and shorty pains at the bottom of bump.

Seriously hoping this is the start of something.

Lemondrop99 · 24/09/2017 12:00

Sorry to hear everyone if so uncomfortable, but also nice to not be alone!

I know I'm very lucky that I'm still sleeping ok. Most pregnant women aren't at this stage. I mean I have heartburn/reflux, sore back, sore hips etc but nothing that's keeping me awake at night. Don't even need to keep getting up for the loo. As such I have NO idea why I'm still so exhausted in the day. I did absolutely nothing yesterday, and by 9pm I was so tired that I felt drunk/jet lagged/disorientated. Crazy.

Let's hope these babies get a wriggle on soon (because much as I'm swaying over the reality of labour, I really don't want to end up being induced!)

ememem84 · 25/09/2017 08:25

Update. It was the start of something. Baby boy born at 7last night. Phew. That's done. Now onto the hard bit. Parenting!

10storeylovesong · 25/09/2017 09:24

Congratulations ememem! How quickly did your aches and pains progress into something more?

LentilBaby · 25/09/2017 09:41

@ememem84 Congratulations!! Well done you! Flowers

Lemondrop99 · 25/09/2017 10:56

Wow congratulations ememem! Wonderful news Flowers

Anyone else getting bombarded with "how's it going" text messages? I've already had three this morning! Do they think I've had a stealth labour and just not told them??

10storeylovesong · 25/09/2017 11:54

Not so much text messages but every time I do the school run (morning and afternoon) I get "still no baby then??". Yeah, I've squeezed him out and left him at home. I just smile and shake my head.

I've just dropped my car off for its MOT. Watch the contractions start... I'm working on the Sod's law theory!

LentilBaby · 25/09/2017 12:11

Lol! I've had 2 so far today.....'tis early!! @10storeylovesong I have just booked an MOT for Thursday.....due date Wednesday! I'm really hoping Sod's law takes control and I can't make the MOT! Grin

LentilBaby · 25/09/2017 12:13

@Lemondrop99 Any less exhausted today? I seem to have quite a bit of energy! Could be the sunshine.....could be the 'burst of energy' some people describe before imminent labour 😳 Here's hoping!!

ememem84 · 25/09/2017 13:25

@10storylovesong very quickly! I was 10cm by the time we got to the hospital. Waters broke at around 2pm. Got here for 230. And then it was pushing time.

10storeylovesong · 25/09/2017 13:46

Wow, that sounds dramatic! Glad to hear it had a happy ending!

LentilBaby · 27/09/2017 09:17

Going in for a sweep today ladies! Let's hope something happens 🤞🏼 x

sophiejayne96 · 27/09/2017 09:38

Good luck LB!!! 👍

Lemondrop99 · 27/09/2017 14:10

Good luck Lentil! Let us know how you get on. I have an appointment on Saturday (my due date) and I think I'll be offered a sweep then. I cringe at the thought.

Still not a twinge here. I'm not even overdue and I'm convinced this will end in induction Confused Have actually felt quite good for the last few days, no sickness, no excessive exhaustion. Have managed a fair bit of pottering to coffee shops for cake!

How's everyone else?

TheLegendOfBeans · 28/09/2017 16:06

Lentil; any news?

I am away out without a bra on. I'm wearing a tartan shirt and no fkkks will be given.

37+2 today

LentilBaby · 28/09/2017 16:23

No.....so disappointed 😔 Went for appointment but cervix was too far back for MW to reach.....damn cervix! So nothing to report, no signs whatsoever and I don't think I've even completely dropped 😩
How is everyone else doing? Xx

mummabubs · 28/09/2017 16:59

Bless you Lentil, I can imagine the disappointment! I'm 38+5 and had my first midwife appointment in over a month as my last one was cancelled, I basically begged for an appointment next week for a sweep and was flat out told the earliest I can request one is 40+5. Baby has finally decided to engage, but logical me knows this isn't a sign that labour is any closer. I've got a really bad sore throat and can't stop crying, but I'm resisting the urge to Google as I suspect every physiological thing in the world can be reported as a pre-labour sign somewhere! 🙈

LentilBaby · 28/09/2017 17:03

Oh @mummabubs 😔 You poor thing! I had a crying day yesterday but feeling better today. Get some homemade honey and lemon down you, wrap up and watch something fun on Netflix!
I'm getting really annoyed with all the pregnancy apps on my phone. For this week they all say 'Your baby is ready to join the real world!' Er......I don't think so!

LentilBaby · 28/09/2017 17:05

@TheLegendOfBeans Lol! I hate wearing a bra at the moment. Usually whip it off when I get home but have the in-laws here right now Hmm
You go girl!!! 👍🏼

LentilBaby · 28/09/2017 17:06

@Lemondrop99 How are you doing? X

Lemondrop99 · 28/09/2017 18:16

Oh Lentil, that sounds gutting Sad

Well my due date is on Saturday but zero sign of any movement here. Fairly sure he's not engaged at all. Not a twinge. I have a midwife appointment on Sat and think I'll be offered a sweep which I have mixed feelings about accepting. Sounds painful and they seem pretty unsuccessful most of the time Confused (I'm sure a wuss, if I can't handle a sweep, I'm stuffed in labour!)

I wasn't doing too badly until two nights ago when I had a vivid dream that my eaters had broken. Woke up totally convinced labour was starting and was like "Oh! Ok. Let's do this". Was so disappointed to find out it was just a dream. Same thing happened last night! Stupid dreams made me realise that I really am ready to do this now. I'll go crazy by 42 weeks if this keeps up.

Lemondrop99 · 28/09/2017 18:18

Mummabubs, I went slightly hormonal crazy around 38 weeks. I had several days of being total irrational, sobbing, just a mess. Then it passed. I think it was a weird hormone surge. Hopefully yours will pass too and you'll feel a bit better before labour.

mummabubs · 28/09/2017 19:56

Feeling better already thanks @Lemondrop99, think I just needed a really good cry and food! 🙈 I've since started channelling my impatience into all the stupid things that I'm sure don't make a difference, I've drunk more raspberry leaf tea, bounced on my yoga ball and had a spicy dinner with pineapple for dessert- I'm going for broke here!! Your little one might be engaged- I didn't feel any different today at all compared to a couple of weeks ago and the midwife said they're "well engaged" today. I also had mixed feelings about sweeps as I've heard they carry a small increased risk of infection and obviously I'd rather go into labour naturally but I just would have liked to been given the option! Fingers crossed for you going before Saturday! X

LentilBaby · 29/09/2017 17:15

@mummabubs Hope you're feeling better today Flowers
Nothing to report this end except a bit of 'period pain' in the early hours. Has amounted to nothing though! 🙄
