For bottle fed babies. Which bottles. I'm torn between two

Torn between tommie tippe nature ones or avent nature ones.
I see lots with TT. However a couple have said theyre not as good as avent. But others said they r brill.
I had the avent classic with DS and loved them.
I doubt I'll BF as I worry too much in public or even with family etc. But want to also find out about maybe BF St home and formula bottled out and about or of dp goes out with the baby etc. X

My baby is breastfed and also takes tomee tippee as a couple of formula feeds a day and we've had no problems with them but they're the only ones I've used.

Why not the same bottle as you loved them so much previously?
Simultaneously bottle feeding and breast feeding is pretty tricky for the first few months. I think you'll find people are less interested in breast feeding than you may imagine.

I used avent classic with my dc and had no problems , thought they were easy to clean and good quality. I've bought tt bottles this time around as they were on offer and looking at them they are similar in quality but easier to hold in the correct feeding position. Not used them yet though as my baby is due soon. I'll be watching this thread with interest.

TT were awful for our son - he lost so much of his milk and was always sick after a feed. Switched to dr browns and he was like a different baby!

This time giving mam a go (self steralising) but knowing we can go to dr browns if need be.

We used MAM anticolic bottles. DD really struggled with the tommy tippee ones.

We mostly breast feed for 6 weeks and then swapped.

I had avent with my first which were great. Second had reflux so I got some dr browns which were also great. Heard fantastic things about MAM self-sterilising too!

I wouldn't buy TT because they just look chavvy.

Mam are excellent.
Had TT for my first..it took ages to get her to take a bottle. Stupid me didnt realise they were all different.
Got mam ones from TK Maxx. Sterilise in the microwave, easy, fast and DS took them from the first bottle.

Dr Browns! TT are awful and bulky, can't comment on the Avent ones. Mam would be my second choice (they are self strelising so we keep a spare one in the changing bag in case of emergency!), but my LO is thriving on the Dr Browns!

Surely you'd stick to the bottle you used last time? Known quantity etc?

I used Avent natural with DD and will do with new baby.

As for a bottle looking chavvy; well fuck me sideways, I've heard it all now

I breastfeed but DS takes one bottle a day of either formula or my milk if I can be arsed to express. We use MAM bottles & have had no problems at all - I love the self sterilising thing too, super easy.

I meant I had the classic last time, was tempted to try the natural ones. In case I decide to BF at home..?

We started with Avent Natural, only because my mum had used tommee tippee with my sister, and in the cold water steriliser, the numbers came off very quick.
As we also used a cold water steriliser, we wanted to avoid that, so didn't use them bottles.
But they leak, a lot. We eventually changed to tommee tippee, and just put them in to sterilise for the 15 minutes, as they weren't kept in the steriliser all the time, they last a lot longer. (And it's no problem, we boil the kettle and wait for half an hour, so 15 minutes later we sterilise the bottles. Ds is nearly 2, so only has 2 day).

I mixed fed both my girls using dr browns bottles. They swapped between them with very little bother, they had the odd week where they would prefer one or other, generally when teething, but they were great!

I would seriously recommend them, even if they don't have a 'natural feel' range. All the very best with your new little one.

We started with TT and they were fine. Then switched to mam anticolic in desperation during a bad weekend of crying. Much preferred the mam bottles. Easier to clean and the self sterilising function is brilliant for travelling and staying at friends' houses.

Will look at the other suggestions too I think. We've only had a quick nose in mothercare as want to wait till scan next week. But for some reason bottles are on my mind all the time lol
