@CL1982 I got put back two weeks when I was pregnant with Noah as I had no idea when I conceived because periods were all over the place with pill. With ruaridh I was put back a week and with this one I am bang on which I was so shocked at!!!

Welcome to the new ladies and congratulations.

@Summerblush1982 My boobs are agony! 13 weeks today and have been sore from the week my period was due.

TobleroneBoo · 18/08/2017 14:19

@mummygof2boys do you mind me asking how you pronounce Ruaridh, I'm not sure I've ever seen it before?

FairfaxAikman · 18/08/2017 14:40

Toblerone I'm not mummy, and I hope she doesn't mind me answering, but I am Scottish. DH combinations in Gaelic are pronounced "ay" so Ruraidh is "Roo-ray".

Wow this thread has got off to a rip roaring start!

@cl1982 congrats on the scan. Baby looks as though they have really strong legs. You'll be feeling them before long!

@FairfaxAikman heart rate should go up a bit at the start anyhow (you are making lots of new blood and working hard to create a person).

@kerryleanne1982 yup, another one with sore norkage here too. In fact they were so painful yesterday that, having finished work a little earlier than usual I thought I'd pop to Oxford Circus to pick up some vests with nork support to wear at night to keep them in check.

What a mistake. It turns out that "popping" to Oxford Street isn't really possible (what was I thinking!! I've lived here for years, I should know that). Also, although my commute has been mercifully quieter during the holidays it turns out that every teenager in London seemed to be on Oxford Street so it was totally rammed. Also the H&M at Oxford Circus isn't designated as their Oxford Street store so didn't have maternity wear. Cue long hot fight through crowds to get to the correct store, which luckily had a very patient security guard who seemed very used to directing hot flustered pregnant people to the right section (behind homeware - who'd have thought). Then it was hell on earth inside (re teenagers). And, despite it having been a cool and rainy day first thing (hence raincoat on top of court suit) it was boiling.

However, I took one for the team, so hopefully might have saved you from a similar visit to the eye of the storm. H&M does do bra support vests and maternity bras but they aren't as cheap as all that. The maternity jeans they have come up really tiny and skinny.

However, uniqlo (next door)

www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-lightweight-ponte-34-sleeve-dress-400991.html?dwvar_400991_size=SMA002&dwvar_400991_color=COL08&cgid=IDlong-sleeve1284

  • they have loads of long t shirts which would cover a bump.

So, with luck I never have to do any more maternity shopping in person again.

Next scans for baby drama llama are next Wed (prem clinic) and the Tuesday after (the nuchal scan). Excited and nervous.

Now for MIL visit for her birthday this weekend, what could possibly go wrong?

Notthedoctor32 · 18/08/2017 16:32

I would love to join!

I'm 9 weeks this week and my scan is on 12th Sept. EDD is 21 March.

I've had some horrendous days and some okay days so far but the one thing that has been the most noticeable has been my boobs!!! It feels so weird that I can't even move my arms without bumping into them! And they're so freakin sooooorrrreeeeee :(

I'm also eating like a horse and I'm petrified that I'm going to put on so much weight and struggle to get it off!
I'm able to feel the top of my uterus just above my pelvic bone too! :)

I hope everyone else is doing great whatever stage they're at. xx

Summerblush1982 · 18/08/2017 16:55

So I couldn't resist and have booked a private scan for tomorrow!! I just want to see the little bean and know everything is ok. I've read that once you see a strong heartbeat then chances of things going wrong go down to 1% I think. But, I still can't help but worry. I had a scan at wk 8, I will have my scan tomorrow and then hopefully my official dating scan in a couple of weeks!

@Notthedoctor32 welcome!! I hear you on boobs! I have got gold mine as walk down the stairs they're so painful!! Same here with appetite too. Lack of sickness and nausea though which I can't complain about.

Summerblush1982 · 18/08/2017 16:56

I *hold mine as I walk down the stairs even!!!!

mummyGof2boys · 18/08/2017 17:02

@TobleroneBoo as @FairfaxAikman said 😊😊 none of my English friends knew what it was 😂😂 it is very Scottish/Gaelic.

Hey @fairfaxaikman don't worry it's quite normal! And so are UTI's in pregnancy, call your midwife tomorrow and pop in a urine sample, you may just have a urine infection and need a course of antibiotics xx

Hope it clears up soon@CL1982 if I remember correctly I suffered with a lot of thrush earlier on with my first, not pleasent

FairfaxAikman · 19/08/2017 09:38

Got given an antibiotic gel and the doctor was far more reassuring than the NHS24 lot.

CL1982 · 19/08/2017 09:50

Ladies I strongly recommend this book 😊

Written by an economist it's a very fact based approach to pregnancy. My cousin got it for me.
