@blueobsessive it was nice although half an hour was enough!! Also had Mr Splashy on one side ('I am an expert swimmer who can't front crawl without displacing litres of water every stroke thinking I'm an Olympian') and My Sploshy on the other side ('I am a beginner but like to do 5 mtrs of shite front crawl then stop and look confused as to why I have swallowed half the pool') I was a little grumpy!! I am going to do ante natal yoga and a programme called 'fit4birth' as well as a few videos for antenatal exercise so hoping that will be enough :) Pilates sounds lovely though...

We will be doing NCT and yes it's mighty expensive. I have been warned it's horrifically middle classed with a lot of emphasis on how you're Satan if you don't breast feed but I think we're doing it to meet people mainly....

Hope everybody is feeling ok, @mummyGof2boys the note off your hubby was funny, I'm not the best swimmer I can never get my legs to do what there supposed to lol

mummyGof2boys · 06/09/2017 12:48

Bleugh ladies some shitty news (not baby related). Hubby is having to work an extra 10 days this trip so instead of coming home a week today I have over 2 weeks to wait. He will be missing a wedding we were going to together. Holding back the tears grrrr

blueobsessive · 06/09/2017 13:18

Oh no you poor thing @mummyGof2boys

I'm guessing he is doing some sort of off shore work. I remember when DH and I were first stepping out and he was posted to a seismic survey vessel in the North Sea for 28 days, then due to weather it became 30, then 35. I was in hospital at the time, so the increase in time wasn't ideal. However it would have been even less ideal if I had 2x youngsters and another on the way. I really feel for you. We are here for you in this virtual world. Long distant hugs and parcels of hope being beamed up to Scotland.

Hopefully he might have Internet enough to send you some more dinners (with hilarious messages).

Is there a way you can keep him on shore in the run up to birth? If not we will need to redouble our support efforts come Feb.

Good on you swimmers . It's doing it rather than speed that counts (although mr splashy - ness is always unnecesary). True swimmers make as little disturbance in the water as penguins

Sah2241 · 06/09/2017 13:21

@mummyg that's not good. My husband was supposed to be coming back today but is delayed until Friday and I thought that was bad, so 10 days must feel like ages!

In other news, I had a sneaky gender scan today, and found out we're having a girl! I already have a daughter who has been desperate for a sister so she will be delighted when we tell her!

mummyGof2boys · 06/09/2017 14:02

@blueobsessive yeah he is an electronics tech offshore. He does four weeks on and four weeks off so it's looming like this one is about five and a half weeks. Thai is the reason he is doing it. He is trying to do overtime incase he has to come home in February. No idea what will happen. Our babies tend to come early and very fast so do t know if he will make it on time.

@SS81C Ahhhhh a wee girly. I'm so pleased for you ❤️❤️

Lauralou031986 · 06/09/2017 14:50

Awww congrats @Sah2241 that's a bit rubbish @mummyGof2boys

CL1982 · 06/09/2017 15:37

@sah2241 That is so exciting!

Well, today I have been frantically searching for something to hide my bump. My boss has been awesome and has put me up for a promotion - as i haven't told HR about the pregnancy officially I need to make as little fuss about the bump as possible. Been googling smocks and think i have finally found one which will work.

It's my choice to hide it but I can't help but feel bitter - a man would NOT need to do this shit :(

(I should have added i have an important meeting with the whole board next week hence the hide and seek act - everyone at work here knows, LOL)

Good luck @CL1982
In case it help This (in dark navy) has been doing the business this week

www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-lightweight-ponte-34-sleeve-dress-400991.html

Will also order it in black and wear it to court with a long ish early 2000s black blazer (which seems now to be back in fashion! Glad I don't throw it out). Dress looks more like £95 than £19. I reckon it will fit the bump until Xmas. It is on the knee on me, so with you would prob come up a bit shorter.

For in the office I've also been wearing a large coloured silky square scarf tied diagonally at opposite corners. Knot at the back of the neck. Bulk of it, is the middle bit (on me) drapes to about bump height. No guesses since I've been doing that.

The stylish tent approach is the way to go for bump hiding.

blueobsessive · 06/09/2017 18:13

Waves to a fellow industry wife @mummyGof2boys

Off shore is hard.

Hope you have someone locally who can look after the boys and buzz you into hospital/ get midwife to you if baby arrives too early.

CL1982 · 06/09/2017 18:25

@blueobsessive That is a lovely dress! I'm not sure it will fit me now though unless I had an XL.

Went for this in the end as it's a tent and thinking I can add leggings and boots and just look fat....plus I can wet a black long sleeved top underneath when it gets colder.

@CL1982 I heartily approve.

You will look cool as well as smart (and this should last out the pregnancy). I'm also planning to make much use of the long sleeved black top technique under dresses. Skirts and trousers end at the waist (which is fast disappearing) but I'm hoping tend dresses will just keep draping.

mummyGof2boys · 06/09/2017 19:20

@blueobsessive thankfully I live in a small Village with a few midwives t hand lol and a I have asked a lot of friends to be at hand just in case.

SS81C · 06/09/2017 20:06

Just sticking my head in yo say Hi!
Feeling rank with a head cold and sore throat and a gazillion things to do for the toddlers birthday at the weekend (I've caved and asked MIL for help because I can't face a party!)

@mummyG I'm going to have to make sure I have back up childcare plans we just havent lived here that long so I don't really know many people but hoping the neighbours either side could help in an emergency.DH is over an hour away at work (obviously not as bad as being away away which is rubbish...i don't know how you manage that) but if things happen as quickly as last time he wont have time to get back and take me into hospital!

Sah2241 · 06/09/2017 20:40

When I was pregnant with my daughter we were living in Edinburgh and had no relatives nearby. As my husband works away a week at a time, I had various family members over to "babysit" me when he was away as it got close to my due date. Thankfully I went into labour the day my husband got back home - one day earlier and my birthing partner would have been my stepdad!!! I love him dearly but not sure our relationship could have coped with that!

Sah2241 · 06/09/2017 20:42

@ss81c hope you feel better soon. I'm also birthday party planning - have just booked a princess bouncy castle complete with slide, bluetooth speakers and disco lights! Who knew such things existed!!

CL1982 · 06/09/2017 23:55

@Sah2241 Er...can I come please? That sounds amazing!

OP posts:
SS81C · 07/09/2017 07:44

Urh yeah i wanna come too @sah2241! That sounds amazing. So far I've got some Peppa pig cups and plates.....haha!

mummyGof2boys · 07/09/2017 10:52

Baby G is really starting to give it big nudges. Can't wait to hear its little heartbeat at midwife later. 16 weeks tomorrow how has the time gone so fast!!! How is everyone today? How far along are we all now? I'm
Very bad at remembering where everyone is.

Sah2241 · 07/09/2017 10:59

@CL1982 and @SC81c, I would be delighted to invite you, but I'm not sure that 3 pregnant woman and a bouncy castle would be very compatible!!

@mummg g I'm just over 17 weeks now. Less than 3 weeks until the halfway point!

SS81C · 07/09/2017 11:07

I'm 16 week's monday....fairly convinced I've got an anterior placenta....feeling wiggles in odd places.
16 week appt is a week tomorrow then scan on the 9th oct.

Yeah in hindsight perhaps bouncy castles aren't best of pregnant ladies.....

Lauralou031986 · 07/09/2017 11:30

@mummyGof2boys 19wks +4 hopefully get to find out on Monday, can't wait to see how much little peanut has grown Smile

mummyGof2boys · 07/09/2017 12:59

Think it's my week of drama @blueobsessive. Mum just called to say she needs to go to Ayr for further breast screening and possible biopsy. Of course we are both now so worried. Trying our hardest to stay positive but the first thing you do think about is the worst.

Xjo1992x · 07/09/2017 13:29
