I know there is Aslan but it's not traditional

What Enid said.

JudyBlumeForever · 12/07/2017 22:21

Arse, think of the potential for bullying

Patriciathestripper1 · 12/07/2017 22:21

😂 sorry but it sounds like arse-lan
Is that how it's pronounced?
I don't like it. Where is it from?

maudeismyfavouritepony · 12/07/2017 22:22

I'm with Enid too.

theothersideoftheworld · 12/07/2017 22:23

I just saw the arse bit too. Sorry.

AfunaMbatata · 12/07/2017 22:23

I read it as are-lan. Please don't name your child that.

villainousbroodmare · 12/07/2017 22:23

Arse. Won't work imo.

AfunaMbatata · 12/07/2017 22:23

Arse! Arse-lan!

Biscuitsneeded · 12/07/2017 22:24

Nickname: Arsey? I wouldn't. Then again Arsene Wenger gets away with it.

Wildestflower · 12/07/2017 22:24

Arse!

Polkadot1974 · 12/07/2017 22:25

Nope. Arse shouts out

GeekyWombat · 12/07/2017 22:26

I have a Turkish friend with that name but he had terrible trouble growing up in north London with it. Definitely a bit too 'Arse'. He had some terrible nicknames at school. His mum loved it though cause it meant brave lion.

MaisyPops · 12/07/2017 22:26

I read it as arse-lan.

Too much potential for nick names and potential nastiness.

Neolara · 12/07/2017 22:26

As above. Sorry.

SuumCuique · 12/07/2017 22:27

A no from me too OP, sorry!

PearlyPinkNails · 12/07/2017 22:27

Errrr no

drummergirl34 · 12/07/2017 22:32

Clearly not a native English speaker!

Aslan yes, but Arslan?

"Arse" is informal English for the bum/bottom/ass.

But saying that, 'Aslan' sounds like 'Ass Man'. Maybe not great neither!

Scrumpington · 12/07/2017 22:33

I don't think it would be a sensible idea OP. That name would elicit way too many sniggers and comments.

Elkalv · 12/07/2017 22:38

Ok got it no arslan then, the name is Tatar -kind of Arabic and means lion

OP posts:
Elkalv · 12/07/2017 22:38

Justhadmyhaircut · 12/07/2017 22:40

Are you on drugs op??
Was your dc unplanned and you dislike it?
Because there is no reason IN THIS LAND that ANYONE would lumber their dc with the nn ARSE. .

AfunaMbatata · 12/07/2017 22:41

Tatar makes me think of teeth and scones.

Scrumpington · 12/07/2017 22:41

Chill out Just, I think the OP gets it. She was unsure hence the thread.

Cakeahoy · 12/07/2017 22:42

I'm so sorry but it made me think of a C.S.Lewis lion with a big arse Grin
