Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

Fran aww your wee twinnies! beautiful photos!

Bluespottytiger ah i picked up wrong haha I Was like wow thats a long time for a scan lol.

bumpkin how are you feeling today? my nausea has definately eased alot but still get it in the morning. I think with hormones changing our symptoms will change but as everyone else has said any concerns contact your midwife they are the best people to be able to reassure you :)

Issy I think i have a wee bump! im usually a slim size 12 but due to all the weight I lost with nausea and vomitting I think a bump is definately poking out haha.

Coastalchick aww noo hope sickness passes for you soon! I would just work from home if your having a bad day so you can rest and conserve your energy. Im a nurse so definately paranoid about hand washing and germs! lol luckily most my colleagues know so I can avoid barrier rooms and chemo patients but im still like .... I hope everyone is washing their hands properly!! maybe keep a wee hand gel in your pocket to be extra safe.

Just curious for everyone who has had their 12 week scan, how long has your appointment been? I have the day off next week so doesnt matter how long or short it is but just wondering since im all excited for it!

Also is anyone using any lotions/ potions to prevent stretch marks? One of my colleagues told me jojoba oil is best so when i was 5 weeks (12 weeks now) I went out and bought a bottle and have been using it twice a day every day ( I know its probally too early for marks just now and 90% of women will get them no matter what magical stuff we use)

LynseyLou1982 · 23/08/2017 11:26

@KittyKate73 My scan appointment was at 1:30 I was 5 mins late due to the rush to get there but I was all done and out by about 2:05 and that included the wait for the blood test doing.

I'm using Palmers Coco butter stretch mark cream. It's got a handy pump dispenser. I lost 4 stone a few years ago so already have a collection of stretch marks on my thighs. I have one so far on my stomach it's shaped like a lightening bolt like Harry Potters scar Smile. My trouble is I forget to put the cream on!

TidmanK · 23/08/2017 14:30

I have survived my first flight preggers! Apart from being super hungry and the food being terrible it went well!

Bumpkin21 · 23/08/2017 18:30

Nausea is back, yayyy!! I mean, I was happy for about 5 minutes until I remembered that it feels rubbish. But glad there's a sign the little raspberry is hanging in there!

LoveRainbow02 · 24/08/2017 05:56

I have been lying wide awake for the last 2 hours 😔 my boobs are killing me! Went for a scan last night just to put my mind at ease and to help with my anxiety which has been terrible the past week.

Lynsey i have seen palmers! it smells lovely might try some of it when i finish my bottle. I keep mine beside my bed as a big reminder to do or i would forget too haha.

tidmank good news that your flight went ok! will need to bring extra snacks for next time.

bumpkin never thought id say to someone glad to hear your feeling nauseated haha, but i know you must feel really reassured by it.

loveRainbow Love your scan pic! hope you managed to get back to sleep I found im not sleeping so great recently and if im awake for too long thats when nausea hits.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 24/08/2017 10:49

Ahh these scan pics are so lovely! I have mine on Thursday (I'm sure someone else here has a 12wk scan then?) and the suspense is killing me. Annoyingly I have to go back to work afterwards even though I'll probably want to go excitedly go out celebrating if all is ok. Bit anxious about it as I am overweight,. and with my last pregnancy they struggled to get a clear scan at 12wks and made me feel rubbish about it. Fingers crossed they'll see plenty!

KittyKat73 · 24/08/2017 12:37

tiffanyatbreakfast my scan is on thursday too! cant wait. ill be 13 weeks and 4 days ( i think lol)

Bit worried that when I go for the scan they date me later than what i am and wont be able to get certain tests done but mainly looking forward to seeing my wee jelly bean and finding out everythings ok :)

BlueeSpottyTiger · 24/08/2017 12:52

love great picture! Glad it's helped you xx

I have my scan on Wednesday when I'll be 11+4 At 12pm. Can't wait!!!! I'm actually dreading it aswell though as i wouldn't have seen baby for 20 days at that point and that stresses me out.. i hope everything is okay!

DaddysGirl36 · 24/08/2017 17:53

Hey all

Gosh, it's hard to keep up with this thread.

Nothing much happening with me except still got nausea bad and I'm waiting for 12 week scan appointment (very impatiently)

@cometogether - Yes me and OH both have our opinions on how we will be as parents and then I have a reality check and remind us both 'we'll see what kind we get first'. I also feel that I'm having a year off work which will be wonderful totally ignoring the fact I'll probably be a sleep deprived wreck

@coastalchick - One of my colleagues has a cough at the minute and is spluttering all over me. So annoying!

kayleigh612 · 25/08/2017 00:45

Had my scan today second one now I'm 12+4 check my latest post I've posted some scan pictures asking for u lovely lot for some advice

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 25/08/2017 19:12

Hi kitty, scan buddy! I will be 12+5 on Thursday. Don't want to wish away the bank holiday but dying for Thursday to come around! Blue that's so exciting! We must try not to worry I suppose, as hard as it is.

What's everyone up to over the bank hol? We're having family over for lunch tomorrow, and seeing friends Sunday - chilling out Monday. Well, as chilled as things ever are with a toddler around...

I sent a PM about the fb group but don't think I've been added yet (sob)

issy2165 · 26/08/2017 06:57

So upset :( had a call from the hospital that I missed working saying they've just cancelled my scan! And I have to re book it! It was supposed to be on Tuesday and now it's the bank holiday weekend 😩

Bumpkin21 · 26/08/2017 08:03

@issy - oh no! Have you had to cancel BH plans?

issy2165 · 26/08/2017 08:20

No but I'm thinking I won't be able to make a new appointment until after the bank holiday or do hospitals still run as normal!

@TiffanyAtBreakfast I did reply and say I need your Facebook email address to be able to add you. As soon as you send it to me, I'll make sure you are added.

Same as above for anybody else who wants to be in the secret Facebook group.

Hope everyone is having a good long weekend.

Sandigemm · 26/08/2017 13:05

Hi everyone! A little late to the tread but 9+2 weeks expected 2nd child end of march.... eek 😁
Only concern I've been suffering with severe morning sickness... unable to keep anything down. I have a hospital apt today and may potentially be admitted with dehydration. 🙏 All is ok?!
Anyone else suffering or suffered with previous pregnancies?

SunyBay · 27/08/2017 17:45

Hi @Sandigemm

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 10+2 weeks. I can't comment on morning sickness because I've had hardly any symptoms. And what I did have has eased off now. Just tiredness, occasional sore tummy like I've eaten too much (when I haven't), getting out of breath quickly, and that's about it. To be honest, I'm getting slightly paranoid that something's wrong, but I'm trying not to worry. My dating scan is a week on Wednesday, so I'm holding off until then. My mum also had practically no symptoms with me, so I'm hoping it's just inherited. But I know once I hear the heartbeat, I'll feel a lot better.

I know that's no consolation to you, and I really hope that you feel better soon. Throwing up at the time is just terrible. And you have another child too?! I hope the hospital can help.

DaddysGirl36 · 27/08/2017 18:20

@Sandigemm - I'm just mega nauseous which is bad enough. Seems to come on the afternoons and I'm just fit for nothing for the rest of the day. Feel hungover. I bought some wristbands off ebay for a couple of pounds and they seem to be working.

@Sunybay - I'm 10+2 today too. No scan booked yet though which is driving me mental. My midwife is useless and the hospital haven't received referral yet which I told her to fax on Friday but she hadn't done it by 2.30. Grrr. I'll be chasing it up again next week. I don't want to wait until 13 weeks. Also, regarding hearing heartbeat, I heard ours at 6w and 8w yet it still is hard work waiting for the 12w, I think it's because we all know that is the 'safe point' but in reality I think I will worry until the baby is in my arms (and then for the rest of our lives. Ha)

Law90x · 27/08/2017 19:55

Congratulations to you all!

SunyBay · 27/08/2017 20:48

@DaddysGirl36 - hello due date buddy! Smile I'm kind of hoping that the birthday is March 14th (which is a week earlier than my actual due date) as that's the birthday of my parents' pup and is easy to remember as it was Einstein's birthday. Saves me having to remember another date! Grin Wink

Yes, I'd get on to the hospital and chase them up. The last thing you want is to have to worry about trying to get a scan on top of anything else! Another poster had to chase things up twice because although the midwife said she'd sent the referral to the hospital, the hospital said they never got it. Eventually she was booked in for a scan on the day that she called. (Her username is Lynsey something.) Good luck.

TidmanK · 28/08/2017 06:14

@FuzzyOwl What's the best way to send you my email so I can join the Facebook group?

FuzzyOwl · 28/08/2017 08:08

Just sent it as a private message on here @TidmanK and then I can send you the link.

issy2165 · 28/08/2017 10:26
