Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

LynseyLou1982 · 21/08/2017 19:13

@tidmank aww beautiful Smile @coastal chick i know what you mean. I can't get up either then when I'm at work my brains all 'baby this baby that' I'm an accountant so I should really try and concentrate a bit more Grin I've got all next week off though. Lie ins everyday. Counting down to when I finish for maternity leave. 9th February

rider1975 · 21/08/2017 19:43

Congrats Tidman that's lovely news

BlueeSpottyTiger · 21/08/2017 21:00

Tidmank aww that's a Great pic.. congrats! I have a feeling you'll have a boy!

Does anyone have any feelings what they are having??? I think I'll have another girl!

I was in charge of tea tonight... although half of mine is wasted because i couldn't face it. Spag bol 🤢 and garlic bread..urghh.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 21/08/2017 21:03

I'm thinking of finishing at 36weeks on the 19th Feb. I feel bad for being on count down considering this is my 5th week signed off!

43 days until my gender scan!!! Eeek 😂

TidmanK · 21/08/2017 21:48

Thanks everyone! We're very excited!

@BlueeSpottyTiger My partner thought it was a boy and now thinks girl! I have no idea or feeling at all! I never thought I'd want to know but now I think I do!

Bumpkin21 · 22/08/2017 08:44

@coastalchick - yes work is so hellish, can't wait to be able to tell them in 3 weeks! It's really busy and I just can't motivate my brain to do anything. And in some meetings I completely zone out, miss half the conversation and have to blag my way through! Debating taking holiday just to snooze!!

KittyKat73 · 22/08/2017 10:51

oh lynsey what a crazy day for you! thats terrible that the hospital still didnt have your details!! you should definitely say to them that your not happy and concerned with the service you have recieved so far just so they make sure they tighten up on things their end! sounds like its a problem that needs highlighted! But apart from that your scan picture is absolutely perfect! its so clear what a beautiful picture so happy for you after it all you got to finally see your baby.

fran hope your feeling better soon! hopefully the consultant manages to get something for you that works!. If your still not good I would see the GP about a sickline. I ended up having to get one and this is my third week off ( due back next week) as my work colleagues told me you dont get extra thanks for dragging yourself in. Best staying home resting and hydrating/ eating.

bluespottytiger ooh a 2 hour scan, I never even thought about how long it would take. is that 2 hours of looking at the scan ? i dont think iwould want to leave i will want to take the machine home with me so i can keep checking on wee bean. not had any scans yet so for guessing gender at the begining i was convinced it was a boy just had this huge feeling definately boy but as weeks go on im now swaying towards girl! we both decided to wait until baby is born to find out gender so it will be a guessing game until then haha. Your the same as me I am thinking about stopping at 36 weeks so I have a month to nest and put my feet up! although I have heard stories about nurses stopping earlier and having the baby that night!

Tidmank aww the scan picture is amazing!! that must have been so lovely to see baby wriggling away. it must be such a relief when you finally get to see them and know that they are ok.

Coastal hope your feeling better soon! I should be starting back at work next week after being off sick for 3 weeks. ill be 13 weeks then so im hoping ill be over the 1st trimester and full of energy and running about ( everyone keeps telling me thats what happens .... still waiting lol

Feeling rubbish just seems to be reduced to mornings for me now. Feel absolutely awful once iv woken up but eases off as the morning goes on. 9 days until 1st scan! cant wait Grin

cometogether · 22/08/2017 11:11

So lovely to see the scan pictures! Mine's next week.

Is this a first baby for anyone else? I've been having a lot of thoughts as a first time mum, and even I can tell that some of these are terribly naïve, like 'I'll never be one of those people that complains bitterly about their children', and 'perhaps we could go on a road trip around Europe with the baby next summer'. Grin

Anyone else want to admit to anything? I guess we can look back on them in a year's time and have a big laugh!

LoveRainbow02 · 22/08/2017 11:28

Scan pictures are amazing ladies 😊. Makes me more excited for mine in 13 days!

@cometogether. This is my 2nd pregnancy but first baby 😊.

The closer I'm getting to my scan the more nervous I am feeling also in case something is wrong. My anxiety has been terrible for weeks and it's gradually getting worse 😕. I keep getting backache on and off and it's freaking me out. I just need to calm myself down I suppose 😂.

cometogether · 22/08/2017 11:40

Rainbow Flowers the anxiety is horrible. Have you tried any relaxation techniques? I was a bit skeptical at first but you just have to find something that suits you.

Sometimes this guided video on youtube helps me to relax.

LoveRainbow02 · 22/08/2017 11:42

Thank you cometogether I'll give this a listen later and see how I feel. I would give anything a go at this point if it helps me.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 22/08/2017 12:09

Kitty opps sorry i meant the appointment was about 2 hours... up in Manchester where i am we have to wait ages even out our appointment time as about 3/4 women get scheduled at the same time? Then once we've had the scan we wait to see the midwife and have blood tests if your having the combined test ect then you wait again and then see another mw to dicuss the previous bloods... They ash dp to wait outside while they ask you if your a victim of dometic abuse then they allow dp in... all very drawn out lol xx

Fran003 · 22/08/2017 14:01

Here are my twinnies!! Slightly eventful morning as initially it was thought they were identical and there was some concern about twin 2 being a fair bit bigger than twin 1 so there was talk of TTTS. I was booked in to see the consultant who specialises in identicals on Thurs. However my consultant saw him at lunchtime and he has decided they aren't identical so the size difference isn't a huge worry phew! I still have to go back next Tues for a growth check though

Bumpkin21 · 22/08/2017 19:37

Aw loving theses scan pics, glad everyone's babies are ok!
@cometogether - this is my first and I'm totally with you on the crazy ambitions. I've told DH to save up his annual leave as next year we're going to travel loads with the baby! 😂 I'm also convinced it'll be great to have a 'year off' like it's a gap year. I hear it's not that relaxed!!

Ladies - on a more serious note, has anyone had a 'day off' your nausea? For the last 24hrs I've felt absolutely fine, no nausea at all and I'm usually feeling rough all day. I'm really panicking that I'm losing the baby. Do you think I should call the midwife if it continues? Thinking of going back to peeing on a stick, but not sure that would help as I don't know how long it takes for the hormone to drop... any advice very welcome!!

coastalchick · 22/08/2017 19:40

@Bumpkin21 - not yet but i was thinking the same thing as was symptom free all afternoon (nausea started up again now). I am sure you will be fine and it's probably just your hormones settling. But if you are a fretter like me - just call the midwife. She is more likely to be able to reassure you and that is always good. She probably gets calls like that all the time!! x

Fran003 · 22/08/2017 21:21

@bumpkin, yes I had my friends birthday on the 12th where I felt fine all day and wasn't sick for the first time in weeks. Then bam! It came back full force. How many weeks are you? It can go up and down in the first few months

cometogether · 22/08/2017 21:27

Bumpkin ha I would love it to be a relaxing gap year off! Apparently that won't be the case Grin

Bumpkin21 · 22/08/2017 21:31

@Fran I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow. I now have lower backache and feel a bit crampy. Hoping it's all in my head. Can't believe I actually want to feel sick!

Bumpkin21 · 22/08/2017 21:32

@coastalchick - thanks, will call midwife tomorrow if I feel the same

Fran003 · 22/08/2017 21:38

Its normal to feel worried, we spend weeks wishing the sickness would go away and then wish it back when it does! The first 12 weeks is such a nerve wracking time, def call the midwife if you're worried

LynseyLou1982 · 22/08/2017 22:07

@bumpkin21 I've spent the whole time so far panicking because I haven't been sick or felt that sick. I think everyones different and I think it'should normal for symptoms to come and go. But if you're at all worried them call your midwife.

issy2165 · 23/08/2017 06:56

I haven't felt sick since 9 weeks I felt like a train wreck then it was awful then bam just disappeared and I've felt fine ever since now 11+3 I get nauseous if I don't eat enough but other than that I'm fine! I'm going to jinx myself now 🙈

issy2165 · 23/08/2017 07:00

Is anyone starting to show yet? I'm Tiney normally I'm only a size 6-8 and everyone is telling me I have a little bump but I'm to scared to believe it! It's not squidgy like I'm bloated!

coastalchick · 23/08/2017 07:31

Cn't tell as reckon I'm just fat!!!

Sickness hit me with full force this morning - bile - nice. Currently debating whether to work from home (which I can do but know I won't be as productive) - feel I should go to work (and also prefer being around people) but worried am gonna be puking and at least can go have a lie down here.

Is anyone else super paranoid about other people's germs?? I share a room at work with a girl who is ALWAYS sick. I said to her a few weeks ago she had to tell me if she was sick as I am having issues with my immune system and can't get sick. So Monday she comes in, after about an hour I asked her something and she sounded full of cold (she's always sniffling so it's hard to tell) so I asked her if she was ok and she goes "oh, I don't know what's wrong with me but I feel awful". I said to her again, you really have to tell me if you're sick as it's really important I don't get sick (I think it's because I'm almost 39 and I actually DO have immune system issues - so paranoid something will happen to this baby). So I moved into another room. Not sure why I'm surprised she didn't tell me - she doesn't listen when I tell her what to do on cases (I am her supervisor!). I just don't get though why some people can't just tell you when you've asked them to!!!!!
