Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

P.s we don't get our notes and stuff here at booking.. they are filled in and given to you at the 12week scan. It depends on where you live. Same with the vouchers/bounty packs aswell.
And for Emma's diary you can go online and register, you get quite a few freebies if i remember correctly xx

Thanks Tiffany

@fuzzy I've pmd you :)

@elspeth how are you feeling? My sickness has really ramped up a gear this week, I'm 12 weeks on Sun I was hoping to be feeling better soon!

@mummies2b congratulations how lovely for you both!

@kittykat the waiting is so hard! My next scan is Tues so pretty early

Back from the first meeting with the midwife. She said to get the flu and whooping cough vaccines before 16 weeks. Is this standard?

DaddysGirl36 · 18/08/2017 16:55

My nausea wrist bands have arrived, put them straight on. Will feedback in a few days. The problem is that I doubt I can wear them in public as I'm pretty sure it's obvious what they are for - unless I say I'm about to do a 100 mile trip somewhere and have suddenly developed car sickness. lol.

In other news, I am surprised at the amount of people who have asked me if I am considering children since I've been pregnant. It's quite nice thinking 'If only you knew...'

MrsL2016 · 18/08/2017 17:00

@rider I was told Whooping Cough after 20 weeks and Flu Jab whenever it is available from my GP, about Oct/Nov my midwife said.

rider1975 · 18/08/2017 17:41

Thank you Mrs - my mum was up in arms as her mother had whooping cough which she transmitted to her unborn baby and the baby died at 6 weeks - this is some time ago ofc - but Mum said maybe I should question it rather than just have it done. I'm personally sure the midwife wouldn't say to get it unless it were 100% safe

BlueeSpottyTiger · 18/08/2017 20:44

Rider Whooping cough is between 16-32 weeks... to maximise the protection baby will have when it's born.
Flu is whenever the flu season starts.. my mw said any time from next month...
Loads of people say the whooping one hurts and gives you a numb arm ect!? It didn't feel any different to a normal injection to me. I got a sticker off the nurse last time as I'm so scared of needles hahaha 🙈

I'm just fed up of always being sick. It's so draining :(

Fran003 · 18/08/2017 20:55

I'm so done with being sick too, feels never ending!

CM23x · 18/08/2017 21:08

masonmum12 · 19/08/2017 06:50

Hi guys x due 20th March with my second child (I have an 18 month old son) and I am so excited!!
Hubby and I decided we would try for a baby, so I came off the pill and one month later I was pregnant!!

issy2165 · 19/08/2017 07:27

9 days until my 12 week scan😃😃😃 not counting the days or anything...

LynseyLou1982 · 19/08/2017 08:09

12 weeks today Grin can I buy something now or do I wait until I finally get a scan appointment? Getting quite anxious about it now. I'll be phoning my midwife again if I don't get anything through by Tuesday. I'm beginning to lose faith in Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

issy2165 · 19/08/2017 08:58

That's awful that you still haven't heard anything! I had my booking apt at 7 weeks and my scan apt came through within a week and I've got all my paperwork that I take to all my scans! And I live in Cornwall the land of dreckly!

LynseyLou1982 · 19/08/2017 09:38

@issy2165 I had my midwife appointment 2 weeks ago and she said it should come through in a week. I chased her on Wednesday and apparently the hospital say they didn't get my details through so she's sent them again. I have to have an appointment either this coming week or the week after (bank holiday week) or I'll be too late for the combined test Sad if that happens I'll be forced to look into a private one.

issy2165 · 19/08/2017 10:09

That's really awful! I'd be fuming if I was in your position!

LynseyLou1982 · 19/08/2017 11:32

Yes I'm not happy. They messed my blood test up as well so I've got to get them re-done next week. It's stressful enough as it is. Ivery just bought my first item for the baby to cheer myself up Smile

issy2165 · 19/08/2017 11:46

Ah so exiting! What have you brought?

LynseyLou1982 · 19/08/2017 13:23

I bought a tiny little cram babygrow that says "I Love My Daddy " on it and some very fetching maternity jeans Smile

issy2165 · 19/08/2017 13:25

Ah so cute! I need to find a maternity bra I'm wearing sports bras at the moment because they're so comfy

Fran003 · 19/08/2017 14:23

Has anyone any tips for getting water in? Im sick after every time I eat at the min and water just tastes horrible for some reason. My youngest child is 6 in a few weeks so I feel like this is the 1st time all over again lol

issy2165 · 19/08/2017 14:38

Ice lollies or ice cubes?

BlueeSpottyTiger · 19/08/2017 14:55

fran Yep ice lollies, Del monte fresh orange lollies are my saviour.
Also I'm on a hypermesis thread and they recommend sipping the juice out of canned fruit.
