Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

10weeks today!! Woohoo! Feeling much better today about the horrible neighbour but doggies will still be coming with me everywhere I go just in case 😉

KittyKat73 · 15/08/2017 10:24

Issy thats horrible hope your neighbours leave you alone! my friend works for SSPCA and told me ages ago they dont do anything about barking complaints because all dogs bark lol. As Tiffanyatbreakfast said if they do come out they will see that your dogs are well loved and cared for and leave.

Elspeth I have suddenly taken a notion for big juicy oranges! bought them in to use in a recipe and cant stop eating them haha!

Elspeth mrsL nausea and sickness is definately getting better for me but not getting too worried about it as everyone iv spoken to does say the closer you get to 12 weeks symptoms tend to ease off :)

Even though im 11 weeks i took a pregnancy test last night Blush no idea why haha! think because I havent had a scan yet I just wanted to see some proof that I am pregnant. It went positive in seconds so hoping that settles me until scan time in 2 weeks.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/08/2017 18:17

Just place marking again as mn has wiped my recent threads!? Catch up after x

Elspeth24 · 15/08/2017 18:50

Had midwife appointment today. Even though private scan dated me 7 weeks, NHS are sticking with calculation from last period so I'm 8 weeks on the system. Ahh, identity crisis! No idea what I should set my app to now, haha!

One thing that came of it is that I will have to have daily injections throughout pregnancy to thin my blood. All because 16 years ago I had a blood clot and so now I'm automatically classed as high risk. I'm not overly keen on this. Going to have to research the drug as I don't really want drugs for the sake of it, just cos I ticked a box from 16 years ago! Don't suppose anyone else has encountered this?

issy2165 · 15/08/2017 19:42

My nausea has definitely improved this week last week it was horrendous but now it's bearable I've also stopped taking my vit b6 as I think that was making me feel worse!

MrsL2016 · 15/08/2017 19:51

Sorry to hear that Elspeth. My friend had a blood clot and subsequent pulmonary embolism about 3 years ago and she would have to have the same daily injections if she were to become pregnant. I think it must be standard procedure for people with a history of blood clots.

Fran003 · 15/08/2017 20:14

Hi everyone! I worked out that I'm due on 4th March but it will be earlier as its twins!!

This was a surprise pregnancy and I already have 3 children , it took a while to sink in but we are excited :-D

Elspeth24 · 15/08/2017 20:58

Omg @fran!!!! You are one fertile lady haha! We potentially have twins on the way and that's scaring me enough without already having 3 existing kids!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/08/2017 21:20

Elspeth its better to be safe than sorry imo if you've had a clot in the past.
I'm high risk too even though i may never have p.e again (which is a rare chance i won't:( ) they need to see my every 2 weeks to check on me in later pregnancy 😣 and i have to start seeing a consultant after my 20 week scan x

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/08/2017 21:21

Congrats Fran 🤗5 children!!! You'll be busy hehe x

ddegville · 15/08/2017 21:39

Just aught up with everyone's post. So glad you all seem to getting on okay.

My nausea has eased a lot lately and really is only around now when i'm hungry. Still having food aversions (had to get OH to cook chicken the other night as it was making me heave!), and most mornings I have no appetite even though my stomach is grumbling away and i'm clearly hungry. Also boobs are still super painful!

Has anyone brought new bras yet? Mine are still fitting me but only just. I'm also aware that they are underwired and can be bad for your boobs when they are growing so much. Don't want to buy a bra too early but not going to last much longer and only 8+3 at the mo.

Elspeth24 · 15/08/2017 22:15

@ddegville I went to Asda and got some £4 t-shirt bras at the weekend as I feel like I will keep growing so just wanted something cheap to see me through for now. Didn't know underwired was bad though :( oh well at least they were cheap!

Thanks @bluespotty I know it's best to be safe but sixteen years ago is such a long time ago. I don't feel like I'm high risk enough anymore. I suddenly feel weird about pumping my body full of drugs for potentially no reason.

Fran003 · 15/08/2017 22:36

Lol thank you ladies, it is a blessing but a little bit scary too!! My other children are 13, 8 and 6 so will be a good help at least.

@elspeth do you know its twins hun? Sorry I haven't read the whole thread. It would be great to have another twin mum here!

I am a little worried, I had a private scan last week which showed the twins seem to be sharing a placenta which apparently makes it higher risk, plus my age ( 35 in a few weeks, though I don't feel it!! ) I'm at the hospital next Tues so will find out more then

BlueeSpottyTiger · 15/08/2017 22:39

I hate bra's without no underwire. They dont really seem to offer me much support and I'm only a 32D.
I always wore wired through my pregnancy and was fine. I slept in a sports bra though.
I bought some asda cheap bra's too! I love them!

Elspeth oh i know exactly what you mean about not wanting to do that. I don't take any medication atall while im pg not even a paracetamol..infact that's all i would take if not pg haha. Which means i make myself suffer necessarily as they are fine to take. I'm still holding off any medictaion for HG.. i coped last time for 8 months.. I'm sure i can this time 🙈

ddegville glad your nausea is starting to go! Yippee xx

Elspeth24 · 16/08/2017 07:26

@fran yes we had an early scan at 6 weeks and there were two sacks and two yolk sacks! Ours are dichorionic though which means they will have separate houses and placentas each. I think if your babies are sharing one then you will need a bit more care, more monitoring etc. I'm trying not to get too fixated on twins because the scan doctor said there is a chance this early on that both may not make it (vanishing twin syndrome it's called I think) so we will see. He did give us loads of leaflets and multiple birth associations to look into though. I'm gonna book another 9 week scan to get an update, too impatient to wait until 12. What has your doctor said?

LynseyLou1982 · 16/08/2017 07:52

So I'm 12 weeks on Saturday and saw my midwife nearly 2 weeks ago. Still no scan appointment yet. Do you think I should start chasing my midwife?

BlueeSpottyTiger · 16/08/2017 09:50

Lynsey i would just call and see what they say?.. we book our dating scans at the booking appt here xx

ddegville · 16/08/2017 10:48

Got my first appointment with midwife tomorrow! So excited can't wait, which is crazy as it's just conversation and tests. Can anyone think of anything i should be sure to ask her when i'm there?

KittyKat73 · 16/08/2017 10:59

Lynsey I would give them a call and just explained your worried you havent heard anything yet. My scan is when im 13 weeks and 4days but I got my midwife app and scan app given to me at the same time

Blue thats a good idea about sports bras i think ill get some

Fran and Elspeth Just being curious but did either of you have any symptoms that indicated you might be carrying twins or did it come as a complete surprise. I keep having dreams about twins and keep seeing lots of stuff online etc about twins and im like ..... is it a sign! ( no twins in family at all haha)

KittyKat73 · 16/08/2017 11:04

ddegville the day before my app. I made a small list of things I wanted to make sure we covered and asked but to be honest the midwife covered most of everything I wanted to discuss. We even went as far as talking about how and where I would like to give birth and breast feeding! Have a great time and enjoy your appointment!

LynseyLou1982 · 16/08/2017 12:02

Hi, I rang my midwife and she phoned the hospital and called me straight back. Apparently the hospital haven't received my details through and had my old address on the system. She says she's sent them my details through again with my new address and I should get my appointment either next week or the week after as we're cutting it a bit fine. She assured me though that then can still do the combined text up to 14 weeks. If I've not got a letter by the end of next week I've to phone her again. Stressful. I had a private scan at 8w 6 days and everything was OK then with a strong heartbeat but I can't help worrying that something may have gone wrong in the meantime before I get my 12 week one done (even though I've reason to think so) Sad

LynseyLou1982 · 16/08/2017 12:03

I meant to say even though I've no reason to think so. Typing whilst at work!

Fran003 · 16/08/2017 12:24

@elspeth, I was told the same at 6 weeks, the doctor told me not to tell anyone it was twins until after 10 weeks so I booked a scan at a private clinic for 10+2. There there were waving their little arms and legs it was pretty amazing! I see my consultant next Tues so will find out for definite then, I was midwife led and low risk with my others so this will be different!

@kittykat - yes lol, I was so so ill ( and still v sick) had v sore boobs early on which I never had before. I just generally felt "different" and I also had a gut feeling! There are lots of fraternal twins in my family but it looks like mine are identical which is a fluke rather than genetic so you never know! When is your scan?

Elspeth24 · 16/08/2017 12:54

@KittyKat73 This is my first pregnancy so had nothing to compare the symptoms to and know if they are unusual or not. Didn't have a gut feeling, the thought of twins had not even crossed my mind for even a millisecond! You should have seen our faces when he told us! No history of it in our families either.

@Fran003 our scan doctor didn't tell us not to tell anyone about twins...i'm not sure what I would have done with that advice. The scan pic has them labelled with a big fat "TWINS" so would have hard not to show my Mum that!

Fran003 · 16/08/2017 13:01

Lol I didn't actually listen to her, I told my family and close friends right away it was twins as I needed to talk about it, it took weeks to sink in!

I've had some jaws hitting the floor as you can imagine lol
