Pregnancies due March 2018

Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

wow, yours looks much bigger than mine - hope there's nothing wrong with mine? Surely if they were concerned they would have told me to come back or go see the doctor?!

Yep, we get a 12 week scan over here though if new date is right, we will be away at that point. Have booking appointment with midwife next sunday so hoping they can tell me more. Think we get offered screening tests too though not NIPT which have to pay for privately

BlueeSpottyTiger · 13/08/2017 13:59

I think the sonographer just zoomed in on the screen. My uterus was measuring at 9cm i think? and the baby was 2.3cm. Did they actually tell you the size? At my first scan at 6+3 baby was only 3.6mm! So if they are dating you around that point maybe that's why? Either way my sonographer said they can't actually date a pregnancy until after 8 weeks as they are measuring in mm.. it is so so easy to be wrong so don't worry everything will be fine xx

coastalchick · 13/08/2017 14:13

Thanks Hun - that makes me feel better! 4mm and that seems to fit with what you're saying and what baby book says it should be at 6 weeks (though I'm convinced I'm over 7!!). Think we are going to push wedding back to Nov - just thinking that sept (esp if they are now right on dates pushing it into April) is too soon!

Elspeth24 · 13/08/2017 15:16

@coastalchick Yayyy so happy for you everything looks hunky dory. Such a relief!

coastalchick · 13/08/2017 15:17

Thanks @elspeth24! Does def feel a relief though I still feel awful!!! Just eaten an apple to try to help baby!

cometogether · 13/08/2017 17:33

Aww lovely coastal Smilegreat news.

Have any of you told anyone that you're pregnant yet? I'm still a few weeks off 12 weeks but not sure I want to break the news then. Not good with having all the attention on me!

Elspeth24 · 13/08/2017 20:21

@cometogether we're 6+5 and we've told our immediate family and 3 or 4 best friends. That will be it until 12 weeks now. How about you?

BlueeSpottyTiger · 13/08/2017 20:34

cometogether i told my mum &step dad.. brother..dad & step mum and sister's when i was 4.5weeks.. with dd i told them at 3.5 hehe. I also told my bestfriend at 4.5 weeks.

My dad told my nanna!? And my mum told my grandad!? around 6weeks... 😑

And we told dp's mum and siblings when i was 8week.

My manager knows since I've had to be signed off for 3 weeks..

These are all the people i wouldn't mind knowing if something happened.. fx it won't!

Everyone is fussing me.. especially because im so sick and its annoying but my mum cooked me some lovely homemade soup today and even made little portions for mw to freeze and to have when im having a bad day! 🤗

I'm sure your family will be beyond excited for you xx

Princezz · 13/08/2017 21:20

@Elspeth24. Sorry for late reply I have been at Boomtown all weekend! Just got back! An my nausea turned into morning sickness Saturday morning! So that was a delightful experience! Luckily I had a sick bag in the tent just in case! Lol!

No i have actually always dreamed of having twins although never thought it would have a chance of happening! So I'm just so excited!
How are you? X

BlueeSpottyTiger · 13/08/2017 21:34

princezz oh my bil is a security guard at boomtown this weekend! Did you have a goodtime? X

Princezz · 13/08/2017 22:20

To be honest it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Mainly beciaee it was badly organised took us 5 hours to get in, we had to walk 2 miles to our camping area, no map or signs! Finished building tent at 3am.
An my morning sickness started yesterday! Lol but I did enjoy seeing cyprus hill, and the specials, and some other bits. X x

KittyKat73 · 14/08/2017 11:59

Hey ladies!

Hope your all doing good. i bought the seabands in tesco in a moment of desperation couldnt wait to get it delivered online just wanted a quick fix asap. Good news is it does seem to be helping still got nausea and vomitting intermittently but im getting longer periods of respite to able to eat and drink. was off sick from work last week due to how bad it was and phoned GP for a sick line today. feel better but work is so heavy just now i know theres no way I would be able to cope.

Cometogether I needed to tell my ward manager due to how heavy the ward was so we told our parents at 5 weeks and alot of my work mates knows as they were working alongside me. Waiting to tell the rest of family and friends after my scan which is 13 weeks and 4 days for me!

love the scan pics ladies! cant wait to see mine 2 weeks on thursday! :)

Elspeth24 · 14/08/2017 13:09

@kittykat73 glad the wristbands seem to offer a bit of respite! I don't think they magically cure anything but they do seem to have a bit of an effect. I wore them all day, all night and all day and they started not to have an effect so i've been wearing them now just when I feel quite bad.

I actually feel a lot better today....which is great. But makes me worry a bit. Aghhh!!! Does anybody else's level change day by day? Last week was pretty awful consistently but today isn't too bad....

Elspeth24 · 14/08/2017 17:59

Oh, forgot to ask.. We have our first midwife appointment tomorrow. Is it just talking or is there a physical exam or anything?

LynseyLou1982 · 14/08/2017 18:31

@elspeth24 it was a lot of talking and asking questions at mine. They also take a urine sample and do blood tests. They give you a Maternity Notes folder with lots of info in which you keep and have to take to all your midwife and scan appointments (and on holiday if you're going anywhere) as they fill in the record as you go along. I even got my own wee bottle to use everytime I see the Midwife Smile

MrsL2016 · 14/08/2017 18:50

Elspeth my symptoms have eased a lot today too and it has made me worry a bit. But I have read somewhere that it can happen around 9/10 weeks and then return. Not sure if I want it to or not.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 14/08/2017 19:07

Hi all! I'm tentatively joining. Had a miscarriage in March, so I am much much more nervous this time around and almost scared to jinx it by joining here! But I am about 10wks pregnant going by my period. I have my 8 week (late!) midwife appt on Wednesday, not sure if she will try for a heartbeat but I'm worried sick. Starting to relax a little bit now that I am nearing 12weeks, but it's scary!

I already have a DS who is 15months. Smile also contemplating the Harmony test, for health reasons as well as being desperate to find out the sex (no real reason or preference just excited!).

DaddysGirl36 · 14/08/2017 20:39

Some great scan pics. I had mine today and the baby has grown and is doing well with strong heartbeat. So relieved. The scan experience was brilliant and we paid an additional £10 for a video and all the pics. Can't stop watching it!

@cometogether - we have told my 3 best friends (they would notice the lack of drinking), my work managers and one set of parents. We are telling the other two sets this week and I will tell two other friends who have been with me the whole TTC journey when I see them. Everyone else will be 12 weeks+

@elspeth - My nausea comes and goes. Sometimes present all day and sometimes just part of it. I've ordered some wristbands now. I also had my midwife appt today and she said GP can prescribe tablets called Cyclizine if it becomes unbearable so will keep that in mind as I think it has all got worse (retching today)

DaddysGirl36 · 14/08/2017 20:43

Welcome @Tiffany

I know how you feel, I've been there although it took me a year to fall pregnant again. Could you have had an early scan to reassure you? Most of us on here have done this

issy2165 · 14/08/2017 21:05

I've had the most awful day, I literally have the neighbours from hell😩they have all ganged up against us and reported our dogs for barking all day I mean a bit hard when they come to work with us so are never home alone really don't need this stress! I'm scared the rspca will take them off of us or something 😢😢 pregnancy hormones took over and I went a bit crazy at the women... my bad

Elspeth24 · 14/08/2017 21:23

Oh issy that sounds horrible. I really feel for you! I had a shit day too... You just want to scream at ppl, I'm pregnant I have so much more important things on my mind than this shit!

@tiffany you're so close to the 12 week point, you'll be feeling so much safer soon. Especially after a scan. Good luck!

Elspeth24 · 14/08/2017 22:21

I know we all keep moaning about foods we can't stomach, but is anyone experiencing the opposite? I just had half a glass of ice cold really fizzy Coke Zero and oh my God I've never tasted anything so good in my life! I just sat there with my eyes closed enjoying every sip!!!

rider1975 · 14/08/2017 22:24

Goodnight everyone - bedtime just keeps getting earlier and earlier zzzzz zzzz zzzzzzzz

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 15/08/2017 06:17

Thanks for the welcomes! Defo think an early scan is in order. Off to Google I go.

Issy that sounds stressful... Try not to worry though, if RSPCA do come I'm sure they'll see that your dogs are fed and loved and just ignore the moany neighbour! Unfortunately dogs bark occasionally! Hope you feel happier this morning after a good sleep.
