Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

@FuzzyOwl what time Fuzzy? Will be sending you all the positive vibes! I am about to book a private scan for next week and am already nervous so can't imagine how you're feeling. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed everything is fine - will this be your first scan? [sorry can't keep up with everyone]

Met my midwife today for a quick introductory appointment, she's a good mix of slightly mad, chatty and no nonsense which is what I think I need. Still doesn't feel real at all.

FuzzyOwl · 11/08/2017 10:27

Thanks @whyhastherumgone and at 2pm. Positive vibes very much appreciated. This is my first scan as I am only just over seven weeks.

Elspeth24 · 11/08/2017 10:48

@KittyKat73 not lost any weight i don't think. Which is disappointing as I thought stopping drinking (i love my wine) would have shed at least a stone by now dammit!!!

@Fuzzyowl Good luck for your scan today!

@whyhastherumgone that midwife sounds perfect, i hope mine's like that!

Elspeth24 · 11/08/2017 11:04

Is anyone else concerned they're not getting enough water?

I'm probably only managing 1-2 litres/day this week as it just makes me feel sick to drink it. Even with squash in. Even in tiny sips. We're supposed to have at least 3 litres I think. Failing at this :(

KittyKat73 · 11/08/2017 12:10

elspeth oh god im definitely not drinking enough. Need to do a big shop today and just going to grab lots of snacks and water bottles, juices etc

Fuzzyowl goodluck for your scan!

whyhastherumgone your midwife sounds brilliant! i feel the same I feel like i cant fully believe it until i have my first scan

BlueeSpottyTiger · 11/08/2017 15:53

Elspeth well... Ice cubes/lollies are my answer! I've been told if i can't hold down 500ml i will need to go to the dr's to be checked for dehydration and possibly go hosp for iv fluids and antisickness meds.
I've only managed to keep down 3 meals in nearly 4 days! It's horrid.
dde google private pregnancy scans in your area. They usually range between £50-£100 😣 (luckly my local one is only £50 and its a nhs partner🖒)
cometogether i LOVE the C word hehe! I'll deffo look at that thread.

Sea sickness bands do diddly squat for me!

fuzzy Goodluck with the scan xxx

FuzzyOwl · 11/08/2017 16:03

Thanks everyone and all went well. So pleased!

coastalchick · 11/08/2017 17:20

my diet is terrible. Today I've eaten: an alpen chocolate fudge bar, a chocolate biscuit, 3 duck spring rolls with hoisin sauce, a few cheese crisps and so maoam sweets! I've drunk water and some mango and orange juice but just can't face eating healthy stuff as the thought of it knocks me sick (and been sick twice and feel queasy until I eat). Have a charlie bingham's lasagne for 1 for tea (OH is out tonight - at a bloody steak house - life is easy for the boys! (though I suppose he deserves it after having to examine my arse yesterday!)) and 3 duck spring rolls left. Is this bad? I am taking Pregnacare Max and drinking water - just feel bad on the baby but the thought of salad or fruit knocks me sick.

cometogether · 11/08/2017 17:35

Glad to hear it went well fuzzy!

Diet-wise. Today I've had two cheese and ham rolls. Corn flakes. Mini eggs. Plain crackers. Plain crisps. A token peach. A cookie. So not great here either but better something than nothing. No energy to make healthy shit!

cometogether · 11/08/2017 17:35

P.s sickness bands in the post! Standby for update.

FuzzyOwl · 11/08/2017 17:38

Thanks cometogether

My diet has been terrible today as well.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 11/08/2017 18:07

Yummmm meoams or whatever they arr called are so yunmy especially the cherry ones!
The ONLY thing I've managed to actually eat so far today has been a bird's eye microwave veg bag!
(Carrots.. green beans and peas)
And some fresh apple juice sipped!
Oh and a few ice lollies.

Occupational health are happy that i am unfit for work... and won't need to review me again! It makes me relived that they are taking me seriously. Are my managers "im struggling to empathise with you" comment 😑

BlueeSpottyTiger · 11/08/2017 18:12

Sorry sooo many spelling mistakes.. i really should re-read before posting! 🙈

Zedahmed123 · 11/08/2017 18:30

Hi ladies

I'm new to this blogg. I have a burning question. I'm about 5 weeks pregnant. I have had several scans and blood works.
According to the scans they can not see a sac or an embryo. But my Bhcg level are 5065. The doctor said according to the blood results they should be able to see something. I have had not external and internal scans. I'm really confused, worried and scared. Someone please shed some light.

FuzzyOwl · 11/08/2017 18:54

@Zedahmed123 do they suspect an ectopic pregnancy then? It's my understanding that five weeks is considered too early to conclusively see something when scanned, even internally. Are you climb back for a repeat scan and 48 hour blood tests?

FuzzyOwl · 11/08/2017 18:55

coastalchick · 11/08/2017 18:56

just ate 3 more duck spring rolls with hoisin! Have you had the cola maoam @blueespottytiger? they are surprisingly lush!

@zedahmed123 sorry but I don't know much yet about all of that so will leave to others to answer but didn't want to read and run - hope it all works out ok though x

Zedahmed123 · 11/08/2017 19:50

Hi Fuzzyowl.
I have got another scan booked in 10 days time. I hope that they see something otherwise I will have to have keyhole surgery to see where the embryo has implanted.

Zedahmed123 · 11/08/2017 19:52

Thanks coastalchick.Smile

whyhastherumgone · 11/08/2017 20:15

my diet has ended utterly atrocious since i fell pregnant. It's getting me down a bit as i feel so gross but all the healthy stuff i used to eat = not appealing at all. I've really gone off salad and veg which isn't helpful, as well as avocado and the only fruits i want are apples and melons. going to try and force myself into better habits over the weekend as it cannot be doing much good

whyhastherumgone · 11/08/2017 20:16

@zedahmed sorry to hear that i'm not sure i can offer any advice but i will send all the positive vibes your way x

BlueeSpottyTiger · 11/08/2017 20:26

zedahmed 5 weeks is very early to be seen. If they can't find anything have they mentioned anything like ectopic? Not to say that's what it is. Are you going back again for another scan or checkup? Sending you positivity x
coastal no i actually haven't because i usually give them ones to dp lol

Zedahmed123 · 11/08/2017 21:53

Ho Bluespotty Tiger

I had the internal scan today and there is nothing un my tubes or my uterus. So I have to wait 10 days for another scan.
I hope and pray that they see something.

coastalchick · 12/08/2017 08:03

is anyone going to pay for a Harmony test to test for Downs? Given I'll be 39 at term I am thinking about it. They are like £450 - £500 but (controversially perhaps) I just don't think we could cope so would probably terminate. I know lots of people might disagree and so I don't want to get into an argument on here - everyone is entitled to make their own choices - but I just think it's hard enough in this day and age without any form of disability, I'm not sure I'd want to put my child through that (plus I don't think we could cope)

Leanne6539 · 12/08/2017 08:18

Do you not get that tested anyway at the scans from the NHS? I share your views btw..
