Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

Hello all! I'm on the antenatal club thread but thought I would come and say hello.

I'm 7 weeks ish today and had a day where my nausea was fine and felt normal so I've been totally panicking instead of trying to enjoy it [had a mmc at six weeks and found out at 9 last year]. Although I haven't had it badly anyway, bit of gagging and major food aversions and feeling sick if I'm hungry.

Got my booking in appointment on Friday and might book a private scan the week after when I will hopefully be 8 weeks+ just so I know either way.

How are you getting on @sophsoph hope the spotting has stopped.

Twins hadn't crossed my mind either, I think I'm just hoping against hope I actually have one in there - multiples didn't really pop up on my radar. They don't run in our families tho...

Still really tired - not really sleeping well at night so falling asleep all over the show in the day...

First pregnancy. Due date estimate 31st March. Going to first midwife appointment this Friday to get first lot of information. I have to choose a hospital to tell them on Friday. Haven't had the chance to visit the 2 I would prefer. Confused! Confused

whyhastherumgone · 07/08/2017 21:58

@ellecar congrats. I hope I don't have to pick a hospital on Friday, I didn't even think of that. I'm trying to think if I had to in my appointment last year. I guess maybe see if you can find any info online as to what services they offer? Surely you can change the hospital if you decide against it afterwards?

Ellehcar · 07/08/2017 22:12

Thanks. I hope in coming weeks I can go and visit. There's lots of out of date info/reviews online. Other than that it's just the official website blurb. Fingers crossed it's not set in stone once I've told them or maybe I can say both. Haha.

rider1975 · 07/08/2017 22:13

Hey blue third pregnancy and furthest along I've been (no kiddies). I've had one aqua aerobics class - was really good.
I'm pretty old so will be my last too :-)
Congrats ellecar - I picked between two hospitals simply based on online reviews

Elspeth24 · 07/08/2017 22:29

@whyhastherumgone twins don't run in our families either and it didn't even cross our minds for one second as a possibility. Yet there those 2 sacs were on the scan last week, clear as day!!! We're still early days so it could end up just being one baby, we're going back at 8or9 weeks to check!

@bluespottytiger oh goodness you don't sound very well at all poor thing, hope it eases off for you soon x

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/08/2017 09:18

Thanks 🤗 xx
I have twin aunties on my mums side but that's it! I have just the one baby in me thankgod! There is no way could i deal with a 2 year old and twin newborns haha

Elspeth24 · 08/08/2017 10:11

My sister in law recommended travel sickness bands to help combat nausea so I've ordered some. I'll let you all know how I get on!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/08/2017 12:57

I had some last time! They didn't help me atall 😢 today is my worst day. I can't keep any food/water down so far. I'm shaking like a leaf! They only thing I've managed is a coffee mocha!

Sophiebail · 08/08/2017 14:36

I have recently found out I'm pregnant, due around the 29th March if the NHS website calculator and my dates are correct! I am just wondering whether anyone knows the likeliness of twins reading this post has made me think about it! My OH is a twin and so is my mum!
I have my 1st Midwife Appt on Monday, so going to ask lots of questions then I hope, just wondering whether anyone's got any ideas on possibility of twins!
Thank youuuu Blush

LoveRainbow02 · 08/08/2017 14:52

@Sophiebail welcome and congratulations 😊. My oh is also a twin and twins run on both sides of our families. I only have 1 baby in there and I think it's down to luck lol 😂.

Elspeth24 · 08/08/2017 15:29

@Sophiebail we have no history it was just pure chance! I think our scan doctor said it's a 1.5% chance. It's still early days for us so although there were 2 sacks and 2 egg sacks, it may not turn out that way. We're gonna go back for another scan in a few weeks to see how it's progressed. But it hadn't even crossed our minds, it's been a lot to get our heads round but I'm now quite enamored with the idea!

@BlueeSpottyTiger sorry to hear it's not getting any better. Can you sip on some energy drink like flat lucozade to get some calories in you?

DaddysGirl36 · 08/08/2017 16:50

Hey all. My nausea has been less persistent today. I'm taking the opportunity to make a decent meal for tea. Lol.

@ellehcar and @wherehastherumgone - You usually do have to make a decision at your booking in appointment as the midwife will send a referral for your 12 week scan. Unless some practices give you info and let you decide and get back to them. Mine was the former. Do you not know anyone who has had a baby at the local hospitals to give a review? Just looking at their websites is helpful though as it gives you options of what they offer. For example, my nearest hospital doesn't offer water birth which I am interested in so that was ruled out. Another didn't have emergency care on hand so you would need to be moved to another part of the hospital if a complicated labour ensued. I actually decided because the hospital I've chosen is one of the best in the area and my two close friends gave birth there too and can vouch for it.

coastalchick · 08/08/2017 17:10

@blueespottytiger sounds awful and fully sympathise! I had my first bout of morning sickness this morning - was at work and around 1130 just felt so nauseous. Was eventually sick a fair bit and decided to come home. Have felt rough all afternoon and not fancied proper food so have just had strong cheddar cheese! Panicky about baby not getting proper nutrients but read online as long as you're taking supplements its fine if all you're eating is crackers at this stage - guess it's fairly normal.

Feel guilty about coming home but was prev in a job which I put first to the severe detriment of my health and so decided not this time! Couldn't do anything there anyway!

TidmanK · 08/08/2017 17:20

Feeling pretty rotten this week... my pregnancy app says week 10 can be the roughest and I'll attest to that! 🤢
Not massively keen to go and sit in a cold stadium watching athletics tonight but I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I'm there!

Pretty much all the family know now! So exciting telling them all! They're almost all on holiday when I reach 12 weeks so we decided to tell them early. Turns out I'm giving birth at the same hospital as my Mum did with my brother!!

SunyBay · 08/08/2017 17:41

Had my booking in appointment and am pleased to discover that I'm a low risk pregnancy. Phew. I should get an appointment for the first screening soon.

My only symptoms are sore breasts, the stretching/bloated feeling in my belly, and lightheadness still (although that is subsiding). Feeling tired, and hungry, followed by not needing much to eat to fill me up!

Congrats to everyone who has had their scans. And to having twins! Shock :)

MrsL2016 · 08/08/2017 19:14

My nausea has subsided a fair bit today, which makes me anxious. But still have the sore boobs and falling asleep at my desk tiredness so not too worried.

ddegville · 09/08/2017 06:34

Soo....tired... I can't sleep properly Sad. I'm totally knackered and have no energy but I go to bed and sleep in about 20 minute intervals and then wake up again. It's killing me!!

Elspeth24 · 09/08/2017 07:02

I'm only 6+1 but when I get up in the morning and my bladder is full, I 100% have a little bump. Scared the living daylights out of me this morning when I caught my reflection in the mirror! Anyone else like this? We have been told twins though so that might have something to do with it eeek.

Sorry, when I post via the app it posts twice for some annoying reason :/

ddegville · 09/08/2017 07:59

@Elspeth24 - eek a bump!! Can't wait for mine. I'm quite overweight so really worried I won't get an obvious bump I'll just look more fat than I do. Really hope I get a bump!

Elspeth24 · 09/08/2017 09:28

@ddegville I know, it's so early which makes me think I'm gonna be huuuuuuge. I don't want to be huge!!!!

I am quite short and slim so I guess it is gonna be even more noticeable. I feel a shopping trip coming on for some loose clothes to cover the secret for the next month!
