Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

Thanks all. Good to know others feeling same (even though I don't wish this feeling on anyone!). I will try to get an early scan. I'm petrified of anything internal. So much so that when I had to have pre-cancerous cells lasered off my cervix they had to put me under!! Not exactly ideal for pregnancy but will have to just man up!!!

If I could get hold of scan people (been trying since weds until I realised that they aren't open until monday!!) to book that in it would be a start!!

I feel like I have a police file 😂

@coastalchick, the internal scan was literally just like someone using a sex toy on you. It wasn't painful at all, promise xxx

LynseyLou1982 · 04/08/2017 07:52

1st Midwife appointment this afternoon. Smile I hope she's nice.

LoveRainbow02 · 04/08/2017 07:58

Oh do you have handheld notes issy? My notes and results etc are all online and I got an account name and password to login so I check everything.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 04/08/2017 11:35

I'm having mild cramping and brown spotting.. it's stressing me out! I'm 8w today and i only saw the hb 1.5w ago!
Is brown worrying or not? I know it means old blood. Anyone else had brown spotting? Xx

SophSoph92 · 04/08/2017 12:14

I had brown spotting too and everything was ok. Is there much? As I put on the post below, my Dr told me that a lot of blood is 'needed' before miscarriage is considered. Could it be a breakthrough bleed do you think? So sometimes the body bleeds a bit at the time of what would have been a period. I would call the Dr anyway. If they can get you in for another scan, that reassurance will be amazing. I wouldn't say try not to worry but I was in your position 3 days ago and I was inconsolable xxxxx

SophSoph92 · 04/08/2017 12:14

*would say xxx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 04/08/2017 12:17

Yeah soph that is what i think it would be as i would have been due my period around now. It's just worrying isn't it! With my dd i had 3 major bleeds well more than a period and dd was okay but every pregnancy is different isn't it.
I'll just try and relax! Thanks Xx

I had a private scan on 24/07/17 and was dated 4 weeks. I felt the sonographer had got my dates wrong and started panicking. Was told to cancel my NHS scan the following week as I wouldn't see anything. I kept my appointment and went on 1/08/17 and was dated 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat. Am I right in thinking it's impossible to jump 3 weeks in 8 days? I'm considering contacting the private clinic I went to to raise my concerns.

SophSoph92 · 04/08/2017 12:40

@BlueeSpottyTiger it will all be okay :)

SophSoph92 · 04/08/2017 12:41

But yes, so so worrying! I basically cried for the 24 hours between the bleeding and the scan.

Bumpkin21 · 04/08/2017 13:13

Scan this morning - all looking good apparently! Little heartbeat there too. HOWEVER - by date of LMP I am 6+2 but the sonographer said baby is 5+3. I'm very sure when I ovulated, so should be 6+2. Should I be worried it's not growing? Or could it have implanted a few days late or something? Very confused!

Bumpkin21 · 04/08/2017 13:15

@loverainbow02 - did they see anything at all at the private scan? Or was it just empty? When I had an early scan they said I was 4 weeks as they couldn't see anything at all. I suspect the private clinic said the same to you just because they hadn't looked properly enough to find it!

LoveRainbow02 · 04/08/2017 13:32

@Bumpkin21 we seen the pregnancy sac and yolk sac at the private scan.
Good news with your scan. I wouldn't worry too much. The fact you have seen a heartbeat at this stage is very good.

SunyBay · 04/08/2017 13:33

Hi everyone.

I'm 7 weeks today, so due third week in March. (At least, as far as I know. I've got my booking appointment on Tuesday, so that may change.) Still in denial about it! I'm hoping seeing the midwife will help (and also settle down the terror I'm having about the thought of looking after a tiny person!).

No real nausea as yet (I did have a bit a couple of mornings last week, but having toast in the mornings seems to have settled that). Now just feeling bloated (like before a period) and dizzy. Oh, and tired all the time!

Elspeth24 · 04/08/2017 13:50

@bumpkin21 yay for your scan! I have mine tonight at 7.45pm - I'm so worried I won't be able to see anything :( I've calculated myself at 6+2 as well.

Was your internal or external? I didn't think they could see anything at 4 weeks so surprising they've said that yet got a good pic on the scan?

Bumpkin21 · 04/08/2017 13:55

@elspeth24 - scan was internal. You should be able to see a heartbeat by 6+2. Good luck, let us know how you get on!

Bumpkin21 · 04/08/2017 13:56

Ah, the scan pic above is me at 6+2 (although baby measures 5+3). I had one at 4 weeks because of bleeding and saw zilch, not even a yolk sac.

Elspeth24 · 04/08/2017 14:04

Ahhh i see, sorry! The place we're going only does external apparently (i was willing to have a probe shoved inside me for a good pic!) I only found that out after we'd booked it. So I pray that i am indeed 6+2 or more so that they can see something. Being sick with nerves is not helping the feeling sick with pregnancy!

SophSoph92 · 04/08/2017 14:09

@Bumpkin21 - I'm not sure baby would have a detectable heartbeat at 5 weeks would she? So maybe they were mistaken?

coastalchick · 04/08/2017 17:12

so have booked early scan - 13 august - should be 7+3 by then (taking last day of period, otherwise guess it could be 7+1 or 2). Now just have to hang on until then!!!

Got self some Eisberg for tomorrow's bbq which is at our house so can hide it easier!

WombOfOnesOwn · 04/08/2017 17:15

I'm 8 weeks on, got a scan 2 weeks ago to date the pregnancy as I had been having irregular periods (you could have knocked me over with a feather when the test came up a STRONG positive).

So far, I'm shocked how very similar this pregnancy has been to the last one, right down to the same food cravings and aversions. I can't even look at hard cheeses (normally a favorite!) without feeling quite ill, in fact it's even hard to talk about it on here without feeling a lurch of nausea. But I could eat sashimi all day, and same goes for Mexican food, neither known for being especially easy on the stomach!

DaddysGirl36 · 04/08/2017 18:00

@coastalchick - I am still terrified at the thought of a MMC as that happened to me last year. This is why I've booked reassurance scans so had one at 6w (all good) and will have one at 8w to check theres been appropriate growth and then I will relax and wait until the NHS 12w scan. I'm definitely have more symptoms this time so that is helping me, I didn't have any last time..

One thing happened that made me think that was the point either my baby died (unsure if it ever had a heartbeat) or if it was a sign from my body to tell me something was wrong - this was severe back pain. It woke me in the night and was so painful I was almost crying. It continued the next day and so I went to Mothercare to look at pillows to help me but never found anything suitable. Then it disappeared. I never sought advice or help but if it happened again I'd be straight to the docs/hospital. Whilst I am experiencing back pain, it's nowhere near that level and some is to be expected.

The other thing I wanted to say is that like you, I hate any type of internals, I usually faint at smear tests and have to be managed carefully for any such procedures (embarrassing). However, I have had 3 internal scans now and they were all totally fine and I managed without any upset or stress. I wouldn't be too put off by them.

Hope this helps you and anyone else that is worried.

Bumpkin21 · 04/08/2017 18:25

@Sophsoph - that's what I thought! I didn't think you could see a heartbeat until at least 6wks. And if I really am 5+3 then I got a clear BFP just 7dpo which I also think is impossible! So, I suppose maybe it's just a slow grower... really hoping it's a healthy slow grower!!
