Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

Hi all. Been a while since I've caught up. Congrats to everyone with positive scans!!

I'm still waiting to hear from the midwife. I called them last week to register my details but haven't heard back from them yet.

My nausea has come on badly now. It started about last Thursday and has got progressively worse. Luckily only actually been sick once. It takes me about a bottle of water and 4 Ritz crackers to feel almost normal enough for a shower. I can't bring myself to eat breakfast and then when i get to work I'm feeling sick because I'mhungry and end up buying breakfast from the cafe! It's costing me a fortune. Feel so horrid on a morning that I now hate going to bed as I know I'll feel worse than i already do when i wake up! Really hoping it doesn't stay this bad for long.

I'm also completely and totally exhausted! I struggle to get out of bed even after 9 hours sleep. Then struggle through work, come home and pass out on the sofa. Luckily the other half has been fantastic. He is doing all the cooking and tidying, he even did 2 loads of washing yesterday evening.

In other news I've managed not to buy anything else yet. But I have a friend at work who is going to sell me a job lot of pram, car seat, isofix base, etc. But not until after 12 weeks.

Hope everyone feels a bit better soon!

Where did you all find these doting partners?! Mine was excited when I told him and he was the one to insist we get an early scan and he would pay the £95 for it. But since then nothing! I guess he's more of a do-er than a talker but I feel like all the dialogue is in my own head at the moment!

I'm not being sick, or even that tired. But I don't think he quite realises how big a thing it is to just know you're pregnant and all the eleventy billion trillion things going through my head right now. He doesn't even response to screenshots of the app I send him that show the baby's progress. I love him to pieces but he's a stereo-typically useless male that does not show emotion, and i have a lot of it at the moment!!!! /rant over, sorry!

I had an early scan today following cramping and some bleeding yesterday, all seem well and we saw babies heartbeat 💙 the one thing they did notice though was an empty 2nd embryonic sack so thought it was a non viable twin pregnancy!! Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before?
So so pleased to see everything was ok. Less than 24 hours between Drs appt and the scan so I couldn't be any happier with my Drs etc.
OH has been great, although I w

SophSoph92 · 02/08/2017 16:21

-oops!
*although I would like him to experience the tiredness and sickness to show him im not being dramatic!
Got a little picture of our little bean to take home today too. All is well :)

Elspeth24 · 02/08/2017 16:42

@sophsoph92 congrats on your scan it must have been so reassuring to see the little bean! How far gone are you? I'm so excited for ours on Friday.

ddegville · 02/08/2017 16:52

Just received my booking in appointment date! Seeing the midwife on 17th August. Argh! It makes it seem more real :-)

SophSoph92 · 02/08/2017 17:08

I thought I was 7 but they dated me at 7+4 :)
I have another scan in 2 weeks to see what's happening with the second sac, I'm hoping it will just close up/be reabsorbed- not really sure how this works! Then will only be a couple of weeks until 12 👍🏼
Yeah it was so reassuring. I was terrified,
The doctor told me at our appt that for a miscarriage they are 'looking for' 5x the amount of blood as a normal period. I had no idea about that so thought it was worth sharing as could put other women at ease whilst they await scans if, god forbid, anyone else has my symptoms.
I'm already done with dignity when it comes to pregnancy though. The sonographer asked if I wanted a towel to protect my modesty but I thought 'fuck it' and put it all on show haha! Baby was my priority at that time! This is what 7+4 looks like! Our little mouse! 😍

DaddysGirl36 · 02/08/2017 19:12

@soph - I have heard of that happening but not to anyone in real life. From what I have heard, the second sac just absorbs back into the body. Hope you are feeling okay about it, I imagine it could be a bit sad, like a loss.

Glad you have been reassured by your scan and have a healthy bub cooking away. It's good you are being re-scanned again too.

SophSoph92 · 02/08/2017 19:24

Thanks @DaddysGirl36 , hopefully something like that will happen to no detriment of the other bub. In a way it is, but I suppose a) because I don't know whether it was even an established embryo im really in the dark b) i was so worried about a total miscarriage I am more relieved than anything. Will take a few days to get my head around though x

issy2165 · 02/08/2017 20:27

Ahh so cute! My other half is calling our baby an alien 😂😂 poor little bean! Forever wishing I could fast forward a few weeks to get this sickness over with!

Bumpkin21 · 03/08/2017 11:30

@Soph aw that's so lovely to see! I just love seeing scan pics, makes me soooo excited! I've got a 6+2 scan tomorrow to double check it's not ectopic. Im excited but equally anxious. Fingers crossed!

KittyKat73 · 03/08/2017 11:31

Hey everyone!

Im back on nightshift tonight so having a lazy day with my head down the toilet for most of it. Good thing is by late afternoon I usually have no symptoms except exhaustion but hopefully ill get a wee sleep this afternoon.
tidmank aw hopefully you get to tell everyone soon! I told my mum when I was 5 weeks but it was because work was getting a bit heavy and i knew I would need to tell the ward manager and didnt want them being the first person to know. Your mum and granny will be so happy for yous!
ddegville Alot of people have told me once you hit week 12 the nausea and vomiting disappear and you suddenly have lots of energy ..... dont think it can come quick enough for me lol.
Sophsoph aww the scan photo looks amazing! thats your wee baby growing away. Thats good you have a 2nd scan you will get to see babys progress and give you some more reassurance everything is going fine

SophSoph92 · 03/08/2017 11:53

After some advice if I can ladies!
So before all the drama and stress of the past few days I had an early scan booked in with a private hospital/company for next Wednesday 9th, for what I thought would be my 8 week mark but is now looking like it will be 8+4. OH has suggested that because the hospital I went to yesterday will be seeing me on the 16th for a follow up scan I maybe don't need to keep the appointment for the private one as the baby won't change toooo much and keeping it essentially means I have an appt every week for the next 3! I phoned the company yesterday to let them know I may be cancelling, but now I'm doubting whether I made the right decision!

What does everyone think? Wait 2 weeks and have the hospital one only or go for the private one as well.... so one next weds then another the weds after? I really don't know what to do! I know if things will go wrong I can't change it anyway! But I just can't decide! Help please!!! 💙

BlueeSpottyTiger · 03/08/2017 12:07

soph I would prob cancel too and book it in for 16 weeks to find out the gender early! I can't wait for that scan I'm having it as my bday present to myself 😂 a week before my bday! Xx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 03/08/2017 12:08

And congrats on the scan!! Your a day behind me! Xx

issy2165 · 03/08/2017 13:27

Is anyone else 8+2??

FuzzyOwl · 03/08/2017 14:43

I would probably cancel as well Soph. I'm sure you will always be able to get one without a wait if you changed your mind.

ddegville · 03/08/2017 14:57

@SophSoph92 - I'd probably cancel and re-book it in between other scans. That way you get to see the different stages better :-)

DaddysGirl36 · 03/08/2017 17:59

@soph - I would cancel it, there won't be much change and it will obviously cost you money you could spend better elsewhere - if you can only move it then possibly move to in between 12-20 week where you can find out the gender earlier if you want to

tilda0 · 03/08/2017 18:17

Hi all, due March 1st...Have you gained weight yet? Where on your body is the weight? I have gained 2kg and I feel it's located on my butt and belly...

coastalchick · 03/08/2017 18:18

loving all the scan pics! yeah, @sophsoph92, I'd prob cancel too.

I'm 6 weeks today and really stressing. Just worried there is nothing there and am going to have had a MMC. No signs (no cramps or bleeding) but I can't help thinking it. Is anyone else feeling this way/being irrational?

I have booking appt with midwife on 20 august. over 2 weeks to wait. Thinking of booking a private scan for 8 weeks as def don't want an internal scan.

This getting/being pregnant lark is great but stressful! First you stress whether you're ovulating (or you do at my age, almost 39!), then you stress whether you'll get pregnant (happened first time) and now you stress there's something wrong with the baby!!!! I am generally a stress head (much better than I used to be) but trying not to be. Think it's the waiting part that's hard

Elspeth24 · 03/08/2017 18:41

@coastalchick I feel like I could have written everything you just wrote!

I'm convinced that we're going to get bad news at our scan tomorrow too. No real reason why, just stressing. It's such a worry! I thought after the BFP i would be able to breathe a bit but nah-ah! Brain has other ideas!

I'd love to be able to talk to my girlfriends about it but not planning to tell them for another few weeks. Makes you go a bit crazy all this bottling up and lying, especially if you're usually a very open person like me!

coastalchick · 03/08/2017 19:07

@Elspeth24 - gosh I'm glad someone else is feeling that way (even though I'm not glad you're feeling that way if you know what I mean).

Yes, I feel a bit lost without being able to tell my friends!!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow! xx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 03/08/2017 19:18

Coastal my scan at the epu at 6+3 was abdominal.. it's not always an internal.
I feel the same despite having the scan last Wednesday and seeing a heartbeat. I still freak myself out xx

Poptart90 · 03/08/2017 20:56

@coastalchick I feel exactly the same! I'm having my first scan on Monday (I'll be 8 weeks then) and I'm so excited but also terrified that something is going to go wrong! Everyone is saying that things will be fine and I should try and enjoy it but it's really hard when I'm so anxious. Any time my sickness eases off I start panicking that my symptoms are going. It's hard this being pregnant malarky!!! Xx
