Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

Hello Meroe,

I'm due the 22nd! why dont you try calling your epau, explain your situation and they may be able to get you in rather than haver to go private?

KitKat2891 · 28/07/2017 12:06

Just got my booking in appt. Initially I was booked in for the 12th, but we're away (irrationally cross about going on holiday with friends now!) so it's not til the 19th which feels like a lifetime away!
I know it won't affect my scan date, but honestly, the waiting is torture!
Time for some chocolate to make it all better!

Bumpkin21 · 28/07/2017 14:33

@meroe really sorry to hear about your experience, and I hope this one is a little fighter! I agree that if you had a MC last time, your local EPU will probably offer an early scan for free. At my local hospital it's self referral, you don't even need a Drs note if you have any bleeding or pain, so I think they're quite free and easy with the scans.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 28/07/2017 21:49

meroe aww what a tough time you've had :( I'm very sorry for your loss. congrats on your pregnancy. I bet your nervous for you scan but fx everything will be fine this time around x

I'm actually 7 weeks.. I've gained 2 days lol. I was really confused why I was the same week and day as other ladies and they were due 2 days after me but turns out I calculated wrong.. I was confused why my pregnancy apps were always ahead of me aswell lol I know it's not definate and ill have to wait until the dating scan but it's made me feel pleased 😂

ddgeville sounds like my gamer sister and her dp.. they have a huge desk with a few screens each it's quite mad really! Lol

Welcome new ladies 🤗👋 xx

I'm going to tell my grandparents this weekend they know something's up I keep getting phone calls asking if I'm fit and well... I don't know the best way to tell them though I want it to be exiting! Any ideas?

issy2165 · 29/07/2017 08:13

I really want to start buying things and arranging the nursery... currently habbitated by my dp's sister🙄 thank god she's moving out next month then I can start decorating! I'm just so exited! Anyone else feeling like me?

coastalchick · 29/07/2017 09:31

yep deffo @issy2165 and frustrating can't do it until scan!

We got engaged 4 days before found out was pregnant and had set a date of 1 dec this year - now we are thinking of eloping in sept this year because the cost of a wedding where we are is 15-20k and I am v unlikely to be getting paid maternity and we'd rather spend that money (if we had it!!) on the baby (whether education/putting it away or what). My mother has kicked off about us potentially eloping but it's not about her. I love my mum and it's not her fault but she did not bond with me when I was little and I always felt she didn't like me. It's because her mum walked out on her when she was 8 and she has suffered badly with depression all her life. Totally not her fault but I do not want to be like that

LynseyLou1982 · 29/07/2017 09:48

I really want to start buying things but will have to wait another 3 weeks or so. We're having our engagement BBQ this evening. I have to get through that without 20 people asking why I'm not drinking! I've got fizzyour schloer in the fridge. I'll pretend it's prosecco Smile

issy2165 · 29/07/2017 09:59

Congratulations on your engagement! When are you getting married we were supposed to be 7th July next year but I think it's going to be far to soon after the baby is born :/

LynseyLou1982 · 29/07/2017 10:45

@issy2165 Thank you. We're not getting married till October 2019 so we've plenty of time to adjust to parenthood first and time to save some money if we can.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 29/07/2017 11:09

Congrats on the engagement's 💖.
I've been with my dp 10 years in Jan (since i was 15) and no signs of use getting married for a good few years yet.. we'd prefer to get our extension done 😂

LynseyLou1982 · 29/07/2017 11:30

I'm due to give birth on our 4th anniversary of being together Smile

DaddysGirl36 · 29/07/2017 14:35

Hi all

I am 6w1D and due around 23 March. After a previous MMC I haven't been getting too excited. However we had an early scan today which has shown all is well so far and there's a heartbeat. Still early days but feel a bit more relaxed.

I'm also getting married, seems to be a few of us (sorry only read the last page of thread). Wedding is August 2018 so the baby will be 5 months

rider1975 · 29/07/2017 16:09

Warm welcome to the recent joiners Smile
I don't comment so much but love reading everyone's experience.
I had a drop in symptoms - back to feeling like just me - but back to nausea when hungry today and a constant "feeling" in my lower right side.
Having read posts here, I self-referred to St Peters in Chertsey and given I'm high risk (42 and 2 MMCs) I have a reassurance scan next Wed.
The scans are such a build up but it'll be good to know

issy2165 · 29/07/2017 16:24

I'm most nauseous when I go to bed I don't know if it's because I'm not doing anything then, but I'm taking vitamin b6 everyday hoping that that is helping things!

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 16:28

Just been catching up. I'm having a lovely lazy afternoon. Just had a nap and am now in bed with my cat listening to the rain.

issy2165 · 29/07/2017 16:37

I'm curled up with the dog who will not leave me alone in the rain brr what happened to summer!

For anyone wanting an early scan but worried about the cost I've seen a few on Groupon for much less than the £95 I've booked!!!! Thought that might be worth sharing x

DaddysGirl36 · 29/07/2017 19:01

My nausea kicks in at teatime strangely. I'm trying to keep snacking (healthy)

There are baby scans I've seen online for as low as £49

Marykate1987 · 29/07/2017 20:58

I had my early 8 week scan today. They said strong heartbeat and dated me 3 days ahead of originally thought. £89 from ultrasound direct and couldn't fault. They printed me 10 pictures

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 21:31

Great news Marykate

Elspeth24 · 29/07/2017 21:38

@marykate1987 Auw that's amazing! Was it an internal or external scan? Can't wait until Friday for ours except it may not be as clear as I'll only be 6+2 then. Was it emotional?!

Marykate1987 · 29/07/2017 22:15

That was external. I thought I'd have to have internal as I carry a lot of weight around my stomach but could see it fine. Really emotional after weeks of not knowing if everything was ok. Defiantly worth the money to put my mind at ease!

coastalchick · 30/07/2017 08:18

wow thats amazing! thinking of booking in for early scan too. Am 5+3 today so maybe for next couple of weeks. Have my booking appointment in 3 weeks and would've thought will have scan within 2 weeks after as presumably, at 39, I am high risk? (plus I have had LOADS of health issues during my lifetime!!).

Going to see wedding venue today at 11. We are pros going to look at sept 2018 though will only be 6 months after baby born - will I have lost the weight?? Figuring that as I'm not going to be working, I could take baby out in pram and walk for a couple of hours a day (we live near beach so lots of walking available). Thinking of going wedding dress shopping next fri even though am 2 st over where normally am (ran london marathon in april 2016 and stopped the training but carried on the eating!!) but should at the very least be back to this weight within 6 months post-birth. It's so diff, as OH really doesn't want to wait!

Just want to get to 12 weeks now, be able to tell people and then get the birth over with and meet the little one!!!
