Hi,

I just found out I'm pregnant with our first DC at lunchtime today.

Obviously very early days and anything could happen but thought it would be nice to have a little group who are due around the same month to share experiences and hand hold if needed.

Anyone around who is due in March?

My midwife still hasn't contacted me 🙄

rider1975 · 24/07/2017 19:44

I called the gp and they were a bit confused. Have to see the gp first (next Friday) before they will contact the hospital.

Some areas and trusts make it so complicated. I rang my doctors and the nurse told me to self refer and gave me the web page. I filled out an online form and my notes came with a letter attached with my booking appointment. Simples

So I had my scan tonight. My lmp was 6 weeks 3 days ago. I ovulated much later that cycle due to my cycles being messed up due to previous mc. I was measured at 4 weeks pregnant which ties in perfectly with my ovulation date.
I'm just slightly confused as I got a strong positive test 18 days ago!
On the scan I saw yolk sac and double decidual pregnancy sac which sonographer said was a great sign.
Just a bit amazed that I got a positive 18 days ago but I am still only 4 weeks pregnant lol.

FuzzyOwl · 24/07/2017 21:51

I'm am also confused LoveRainbow as four weeks pregnant means you ovulated 14 days ago. Did the sonograoher say to return in a week to see how things were progressing?

LoveRainbow02 · 24/07/2017 22:09

I definitely didn't ovulate 14 days ago. I ovulated on the 26th June. It was a private scan so she didn't offer me to go back. Just said all looks really good regarding yolk sac and pregnancy sac and thickness of my sac. I have a scan booked at the hospital next Tuesday. I am really confused. Also my sac looks much larger than a 4 week sac.

FuzzyOwl · 24/07/2017 22:17

Ah, are you are six weeks pregnant then?

LoveRainbow02 · 24/07/2017 22:29

My lmp was 6 weeks 3 days ago but my sac is measuring 4 weeks. It was 4 weeks ago today that I ovulated. I got a positive test 18 days ago so this is what is confusing me. I was an abdominal scan she done which surprised me as I thought I would have an internal one. I didn't think 4 weeks pregnant would show abdominally lol.

FuzzyOwl · 24/07/2017 22:40

You're six weeks pregnant. You always add two weeks in front of the day you ovulate, so technically the first two weeks of pregnancy are before you conceive.

LoveRainbow02 · 24/07/2017 22:42

Yeah that's what I thought but the sonographer is telling me I'm 4 weeks. My head is all muddled and confused with dates now lol. I know I really shouldn't have but I've been googling 4 week pregnancy sacs and they seem much much smaller compared to my sac.

FuzzyOwl · 24/07/2017 22:45

You're not four weeks. Google a six week sac and I bet you will feel much more relieved. If you were four weeks, then you would only just be getting a positive test now; certainly not 18 days ago. Mathematically and physically it is impossible.

That looks like a lovely six week old pregnancy to me. I think the sonograoher would have got you to return if they had any concerns at all about your dates and I also don't think you can always see a four week old pregnancy even with an internal scan.

LoveRainbow02 · 24/07/2017 23:08

That's why I was so shocked to even see this abdominally. I've got a scan at my hospital next week so I'll see what they say there. I'm left a worrying mess lol.

issy2165 · 25/07/2017 07:37

I'm due 13th march :)

Ive had a scan this morning for reassurance and i saw its ticker! I'm just over 5wks.....

Oh and i have 3 cysts on my ovaries...but hey! xx

LynseyLou1982 · 25/07/2017 10:43

I have a tender spot on my left side halfway between my belly button and my groin. It doesn't hurt all the time only if I touch it (maybe I should stop poking it :-) ) but when I touch it I wince. Otherwise I'm fine. Haven't had any nausea since Thursday just a few aches and cramps bit of tiredness, no spotting at all. Wondering if I have a cyst but panicking its ectopic or something. Private scan Thursday morning. Hoping everything is OK. I still don't 'feel' pregnant so I'm constantly anxious.

Winterc00kie · 25/07/2017 10:50

@Lynseylou

Please call your doctor with symptoms to double check.

I have had ectopic before, it might not be at all but its better to be safe than sorry xxx

TidmanK · 25/07/2017 12:44

So I just found out I have to have been at my work for 1 year to get their mat leave package which would give me 6 weeks full pay then 12 weeks 50% then statutory from then on
My due date is 5 days after my 1 year anniversary! I'm hoping that when I decide to tell work and speak to HR they will give me some leeway so if the baby is early I won't lose that package!

KitKat2891 · 25/07/2017 13:28

@TidmanK - do you know what the policy is on when your mat leave needs to start?

TidmanK · 25/07/2017 13:40

@KitKat2891 I wouldn't be able to start mat leave until after my 1 year at work, but if the baby came early my mat leave would automatically start
