I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

@blueobsessive that's god news Smile I'm not the best swimmer but iv always liked the idea of those antenatal swim classes, all is well on this end got my 16wk midwife appointment tomorrow so get to hear little peanut again Smile

Lauralou031986 · 13/08/2017 12:40

Anyone no if you can have cold pork pie? Lol maybe a silly question I have no idea, were planning a cheese board for tonight Smile

CL1982 · 13/08/2017 16:46

@Lauralou031986 I think so yes as it's been cooked :) apparently most supermarket charcuterie is safe as well as it's been frozen or something. I will admit to caving and having some French sausage (oh la la) the other day!

Well, finally decided 'sod it' and ordered a load of maternity clothes in the sale on Asos. I have a wedding January and I'm being positive so I just thought....I'm doing it. Plus there was a really nice dress half price. I figure I can be miserable and make clothes last or have comfy trousers and actually look and feel good for a few months. DH, usually the more frugal of the two of us, has surprisingly agreed and supported my buying which is nice. I would have to say, sitting down now my trouser are just very uncomfortable. It feels like I have gone from no bump to something in a few days which is weird....

@CL1982 I may have it, I may not lol not decided yet, going to ask midwife of some things I'm not sure about tomorrow, that's nice Smile we've got to be comfortable in what we're wearing, I find some of my leggings are getting a tad uncomfortable now and may have to get new bras soon.

FairfaxAikman · 13/08/2017 18:09

Can I join?

I'm 4+3 with no.1.

SS81C · 13/08/2017 19:17

Cold pork pie is absolutely fine because the meat has been cooked (like a sausage roll). The NHS site is really helpful for what you can and can't eat I'll see if I can find a link!

I've been on nights which have absolutely totalled me because despite being the most tired person known to mankind I've managed a sum total of about 5 hours sleep across the weekend. Thank goodness the unit was calm because I'm not sure I'd have coped otherwise.

CL1982 · 13/08/2017 19:18

@FairfaxAikman welcome! Of course you can- all welcome!

@Lauralou031986 It's an odd feeling. Stuff still fits it's just ragingly uncomfortable. Asda maternity doesn't look bad-got work trousers for £8 (too short but who is caring 😂 I'll wear them as cropped) which I thought was amazing. Although do you need to buy new knickers etc? I'm guessing so esp tights....?!

Bras are essential, I'm so glad I got this maternity bra.

Thanks @SS81C @CL1982 will defo give Asda a look for maternity, gives us ladies a good excuse to go shopping Smile

SS81C · 13/08/2017 20:58

I actually can't believe how sprightly I feel this evening. I definitely think my symptoms are changing now I'm almost 12 weeks ....much less tired and nauseous, but my boobs are suddenly really sore and I've got mega heartburn today (that could be the massive roast I scoffed!).
I'm convinced I felt the little bean move today too...

CL1982 · 13/08/2017 21:28

@SS81C Yes mine started hurting really badly too today. I think Win Nugget is having a growth spurt though as I had to go lie down twice today.

Hey ladies. How was your weekend? @SS81C my boobs have been sore from the beginning. As soon as my bra comes off it's like there are being pulled. Ouch.

@CL1982 Maternity wear is a god send

TobleroneBoo · 14/08/2017 08:50

Hi mummy,

Saw both my mum and mil and it was hard to not say anything yet, but on the other hand - sometimes I forget I'm pregnant Blush

I am 6 weeks today

How was your weekend?

KerryLeanne84 · 14/08/2017 09:43

I wore a maternity dress at the weekend that a friend gave me too Claire and I have to say, comfiest I've been for ages! You can definitely get maternity tights and leggings too which are apparently also v comfy.

I might buy a few things after my 12 week scan. 10 - 4 now :)

mummyGof2boys · 14/08/2017 11:49

@TobleroneBoo are you waiting for your 12 week scan to tell people? I was working a 12 hour shift on Saturday and at a joyful car show on Sunday with four children. You can imagine my delight 😂😂

TobleroneBoo · 14/08/2017 12:04

@mummyGof2boys I always said to myself, I would never tell anybody I was pregnant before 12 weeks, but its hard!

I might discuss with DP about telling family at 8 weeks with a strict condition that nobody puts it on social media (which some of them would if I didnt tell them not to!)

You must be knackered!!

SS81C · 14/08/2017 12:24

I was like that with my first @tobleroneblue but I'm much more relaxed this time so we told our families about 10 weeks. To be honest if something happened we would need their support anyway. Although i have had to make sure they don't tell anyone because I don't want everyone knowing or people finding out before we've told them. It's actually been really helpful because MIL has had out DC a bit more.
You could always look at booking a private scan about 8-9 weeks and then tell them...

mummyGof2boys · 14/08/2017 12:47

@TobleroneBoo we were the same and hubby swore me to secrecy. I'm not very good at keeping my own secrets though and burst with excitement 😂😂 drives hubby crazy. I am exhausted. Was at playgroup this morning and my friend pointed out I looked awful lol she said you could tell I had had it tough. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get I just feel so tired.

@SS81C oh isn't it magical when they take the kids more to help. My mum is taking the boys tonight and I don't start work until 10 tomorrow so I'm pretty happy about a lay in and full nights sleep.

CL1982 · 14/08/2017 14:31

@mummyGof2boys I actually cannot imagine how you do this with a child let alone two. I'm struggling it just being us! And having no kitchen. Actually that has been horrendous too 😵

I had to pin up my maternity trews. What an awkward inbeween phase this is!

Re. Telling everyone having read about things going (rarely) wrong all so many points I am more relaxed about telling people. I'm also not letting myself imagine it's going to go wrong or I'll be a shambolic mess.....

Can I join please? I am just over seven weeks. Smile

TobleroneBoo · 14/08/2017 14:33

Thats a thought @SS81C , I've just googled and my nearest place is about 10 minutes from home so I think I will look into that!

@mummyGof2boys Poor you :( I am feeling absolutely wiped out today. Not sure if that is a symptom or just me in general. I've had a bad back for absolutely weeks now and it has kicked up a gear today :(

mummyGof2boys · 14/08/2017 14:44

@TobleroneBoo I think the tiredness is defo a 1st trimester symptom. The baby does most of their development in this time. It's my hips that are sore already bleugh

@CL1982 I have no idea 😂😂 I think I just make it through the day. It gets to 4pm and I'm dead on my feet. Poor dh hasn't had sex for ages 😂😂 no kitchen 😱😱 that's awful

mummyGof2boys · 14/08/2017 14:45

Hi @FuzzyOwl congratulations

CL1982 · 14/08/2017 16:26

@mummyGof2boys SEX WAS WHAT GOT US INTO THIS MESS IN THE FIRAT PLACE 😂
