@halloumisandwich Oh, yay! So glad to see you over here! And also yay for late Jan babies!

@theotherendofthesockportal What a gorgeous scan - so pleased for you.

@NoParticularPattern oh nooooo, that kind is the worst! But at least you felt a little better afterwards - I always do too which does help soften the blow a bit!

JCleRoux · 30/06/2017 23:24

Just catching up on the thread. Hope everyone is ok.

@theotherendofthesockportal what a lovely pic!

Glad you had a good scan too @peachgreen.

@beanhunter how are you feeling? I hope the bleeding has stopped.

Pattern I am so sorry.

I am 15+5 today and thought the vomitting was well and truly behind me. How wrong I was! I started feeling sick in the train and bus home and got home to hug the toilet bowl. I didn't think I should still be sick at this stage Sad. Hoping it was just the motion sickness...

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend x

halloumisandwich · 01/07/2017 06:41

What a lovely scan pic sock!
Thank you for the lovely welcome ladies- I posted and then promptly fell asleep last night, but awake bright and early this morning as my stuffy nose means I can't breathe!

mammabear4 · 01/07/2017 08:19

Just caught up - beautiful scan sock congrats!! I just realised I never posted my scan pic so here that is! Twin 1 in the top pic with twin 2's top of head on the left, twin 2 in the bottom pic 😊👶🏼👶🏼

So pleased for you peach sounds like a great appointment. Wonder if you don't get your 12 week scan because that one can be classed as your dating scan. Did you have the screening done or are you opting not to? That was the only reason I had a 12 week scan after my 10 week EPAU scan as they dated me at the 10 week one so 12 week was purely for the screening.

pattern oh god that sounds horrendous I totally sympathise, how far along are you now? I'm 13+1, tiredness is still peak but the nausea seems to have subsided thank god! Hang in there!

brenna sorry to hear about your bleeding, I had bleeding throughout until about a week or so ago and it turned out to be a hematoma, which was great we found a reason but the nurse said most of the time they never find the definite cause of the bleeding and some women unfortunately just do and have a healthy pregnancy regardless, just Sod's law it has to happen to us anxious post mc ladies hey.

Hope everyone else is doing ok! Love xx

@mammabear4 beautiful scan pic of your twins. They look cozy in there 😁

peachgreen · 01/07/2017 09:21

@mammabear4 Lovely lovely scans! We don't get screening scans in NI annoyingly - nowhere even does the NT scan privately anymore. Basically because you can't have an abortion here, even in the case of fatal fetal abnormality, so there's no 'point' having an MY scan. Never mind that lots of people want to know to be prepared. Very upsetting as I would have had it done otherwise. We can have the quad test at 16 weeks and an amnio after that if required. Not sure I'd do an amnio though. Anyway, if I get too worried I might have a private Harmony test but it's so expensive.

Apparently they date from your 20 week scan here - very odd!

theotherendofthesockportal · 01/07/2017 09:41

@mammabear4 your scan is lovely! I've never seen a twin scan before. It's amazing how they fit into a small space!

WLMcI · 01/07/2017 09:52

@mammabear I am so fascinated by your scan photos! How lucky to get both of them pictured so clearly--we only have one in there and even so our pics are rubbish as it was being, as my husband says, thran! (I reminded him that it's his child, after all, so he should expect it to be thran. I say the same thing when my unfortunate pg symptom of wind annoys him...now he knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end! Grin)

@Pattern and @JCleRoux ugh, how awful! I feel like an imposter pregnant woman as I had nothing like you guys have been going through and now I'm 14 weeks and feeling great. @Pattern do speak to the GP for a scrip if it means you can't keep food down at all. Vomiting infrequently is normal morning sickness, but vomiting constantly is not! X

In other news, I would love to have a proper baby bump at this stage...I basically just look like I've had a big roast dinner (veggie lentil roast for me!), and I feel like people don't actually believe I'm pregnant when I tell them! I can feel lots of ligament stretching going on, but for something that's supposedly 3 1/2 inches long this week, plus all the fluid it's floating in, baby isn't demanding much space yet. Maternity gear is in the closet waiting for this supposed "pop" to happen...

Brenna24 · 01/07/2017 10:20

Hello Halloumi (and yum yum, I love halloumi).

Uff Pattern that does not sound fun.

Likewise JC

Gorgeous scans sock and mamma.

I am still spotting on and off. It would appear I am just a bleeder and that is the end of it. I feel ok though otherwise. Although I had a dreadful afternoon and evening yesterday. I think the hormones, the steroids, the mainly staying bedbound and the worry about the pregnancy combined in taking its toll in making me feel really down and grumpy. Not made any better by the fact that DH sprayed aftershave in the bedroom - the one room in the house where I can sit comfortably - and the smell has been making me feel so sick. I evicted the bottle the other day but just could not get rid of the smell. Then I found the bottle in here again yesterday. He must have brought it back in. I was not happy. I texted him and told him if he brought it in or used it again it was going in the bin. To make up for is he came home with a massive piece of my favourite Camembert WHICH I CANNOT CURRENTLY EAT!!! Luckily for him I am not allowed to do heavy work or he would be under the patio by now Grin I feel better today though. I woke up and it is sunny outside, the smell is gone in this room and I am going to pop out and get some sun for a while.

Brenna24 · 01/07/2017 13:04

My husband went for a passport interview this morning as he has just got British citizenship (he is Italian). He found a wee Italian deli run by two lovely Italian men near the interview place before he went in. He wanted to get some aubergine parmigiana to take home to me but it has mozzarella in it and he knew I couldn't have that. When he got out of his interview the guys had cooked me a special mozzarella free version. How sweet was that? It has totally made me week.

Hazandduck · 01/07/2017 15:11

Aw that is so sweet! Are we not supposed to have mozzarella?? I've eaten it loads!! 😳 Glad to hear you are relaxing a bit more
@Brenna.

How are you feeling today @peach?

I had a sleepless night and ended up googling (I know, I know schoolboy error) about late miscarriage and worked myself in to such a state, ended up texting midwife at stupid o'clock and she was so sweet and messaged me straight back and said if it will put my mind at ease she is happy to do a thyroid blood test (long story short I had an ultrasound of my thyroid gland in January and it said my thyroid was uneven but bloods came back fine.) It feels like the further I get along, and how fine bubba is growing in there, anything that goes wrong now will be MY fault. Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by that responsibility? Only I can grow and protect baby right now. If anything goes wrong, it's on me. Gah I hate my stupid brain! My midwife is so incredible and supportive, I feel lucky to have her. I love this little bub so much already I just don't want to fail him/her. X

Hazandduck · 01/07/2017 15:16

Sorry I think I put the wrong name, @pattern how are you feeling? Hope you aren't still being sick? Xx

yellowfrontdoor · 01/07/2017 15:24

@Hazandduck I'm also now worrying g about my mozzarella consumption.... off to google!

yellowfrontdoor · 01/07/2017 15:25

It's fine as long as it's made from pasteurised milk! Phew....

Hazandduck · 01/07/2017 15:38

Oh I see! I've only had mine on pizza to be fair, I think if it's cooked it's ok :) x

NoParticularPattern · 01/07/2017 16:25

Thanks to all the ladies who have asked- I'm back to just feeling absolutely rotten today. No vomiting yet! Just the once yesterday and I have no idea where it came from!! Well, you know what I mean haha!

If it's any consolation to you all I was drinking unpasteurised milk by the gallon in the couple of weeks before I found out I was pregnant. I'm not some weird health nut by the way, just marrying a dairy farmer so it's a perk of the job haha! I also know that my midwife said don't drink/eat uncooked unpasteurised stuff but say unpasteurised mozzarella on a pizza/pasta etc would be fine. I wish I fancied mozzarella.... eugh I hate feeling this shitty!

Brenna24 · 01/07/2017 16:33

Sorry to panic you all. I was told no cheeses with mould or softer cheeses with a higher moisture content. I am not being overly strict about many things, but i am about that one. Mozzarella is probably fine. DH is being even more careful since this week so far he has brought me home sushi and camembert. Grin So he said no to mozzarella.

minniemouseears · 01/07/2017 16:43

Hope everyone ok
Im having a crappy day suddenly overwhelmed been trying this week not to let my head wander to far on the what ifs but now we are a week in im starting to get used to the idea I know now it would break my heart to loose this little one I'm in love. Panic stricken when my boobs are less sore and I don't feel as tired I'm a joy to live with🙈

Miami81 · 01/07/2017 16:44

On the cheeses front I was told soft was generally ok as long as pasteurised and hard was fine. Ones with rinds like Camembert and Brie are a no no!
On the food front we went out last night for a fancy birthday meal and it was fab but my ordering was a bit inconsistent. I wanted the prawn starter, but did check that they were cooked through - apparently only blowtorched so avoided that, ordered pigeon (welldone) instead - forgetting entirely that I don't think we are supposed to eat game due to risk of there being shot in it. But the only other starter was a runny duck egg, so I basically couldn't win no matter what I ordered........
also had cheesecake for dessert and I don't think it is likely that it was anything other than uncooked, unpasteurised soft cheese in that. D'oh!!!
It's difficult to remember all the don'ts maybe need to get a list on my phone.

DancingUnicorn · 01/07/2017 17:12

Minniemouse I feel you today. It's still so early for me, but having known now for a week and a half the thought of losing this one is unbearable. I'm feeling suddenly really anxious about everything. And I know it's going to be months before I can even start to feel any reassurance. :( Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day for us.

Sorry you're still feeling dreadful pattern. I really hope it passes soon for you!

mogulfield · 01/07/2017 17:47

Trying to catch up wth the thread as I'm now back in the UK, feeling rotten today, very tired and not so much sick but just can't face eating anything?!
Anything I do fancy is rubbish (burgers, full English). I'm normally quite healthy but I just can't stomach my usual food! Anyone else having this?!
Also checking my symptoms all the time, frantic boob squeezing here too!!

mogulfield · 01/07/2017 17:47

I hope my baby doesn't get scurvy!

mogulfield · 01/07/2017 17:50

dancing I think everyone here feels like that to some degree, I find focusing on the fact I'm pregnant today reassuring and I meditate, helps me focus on the positives (I use a fab app called Headspace)

yellowfrontdoor · 01/07/2017 17:51

@mogulfield I boob squeeze ALL THE TIME. I have to remember where the cctv is at work, because I'm partial to a 'squeeze my elbow to my boob' manoeuvre there I kid myself it's more subtle! .

@NoParticularPattern I love 'raw' milk. I cancelled my delivery when I found out I was pg the first time & I miss it. A friend of mine will only buy raw, gives it to her two young children & everything.

Sorry to everyone feeling shitty. I've had a weeks now of nausea but it seems to come in waves as opposed to all the time, so I get some relief.

Brenna24 · 01/07/2017 18:18

Lovely pattern. You are probably immune to the natural flora of your herd too, so it won't be a problem for you.
