Welcome all newcomers! Sending lots of support and hoping that everything works out for you; you're in the right place here :)

@Amy that sounds completely nerve-wracking. A woman I know had similar problems from the sound of it. She was back and forth to fetal assessment constantly for weeks with all sorts of symptoms including bloody show etc and ended up delivering at 33+4 weeks; her baby was fine. So do keep the faith but also don't let them put you off coming in if you feel like something really isn't right! They are there to be used by such as us :) Are you off work yet?

On a positive note, we have nearly settled on our baby names :D And when I say "we", I'm making the suggestions for the most part, but I do run them by DH and if he vetoes it then it gets chucked off the list :) We have a difficult last name and no viable family names that go with it so it's been a creative challenge but still a nice pleasant task compared to researching and getting confused by-- car seats and prams online! Head melt! :D

@Brenna24 no I always drink 3L of water as I'm prone to uti's. I did have irritable uterus with dd1 to the point they gave me steroid injections at 29 weeks as they were convinced I was in labour. I'm thinking maybe it is to do with my heart shaped womb? I have no idea

AmyB1986 · 31/07/2017 23:35

@WLMcI x-post with you there. I've just gone back to work after 2 weeks annual. Another 6 and I'm done for 12 months.
With dd1 I went to 37+1 with the same problem. Dd2 I didn't have contractions as regularly as I did but this time I'm having at least 5 each day with in 10 mins of each other then they are less frequent and all day. I can lay in bed and you can see the contractions on the outside, feel them and they are being picked up on a ctg too.
I'm going to ring my midwife tomorrow for advice and my consultant to see if it may be worth while having the two sufactant injections in the near future to be on the safe side.
Also my bmi is 30 and I should have had a gtt by now but that hasn't been organised either

DancingUnicorn · 01/08/2017 07:34

Amy sounds very stressful and not fun for you. Hopefully the midwife and consultant can offer something useful to say/do.

Wlm well done for picking names! Not an easy task. I vaguely opened a catalogue and looked at prams and car seats, saw the prices and promptly closed it. I'm only 9 weeks, absolutely should not be thinking about prams yet!!

Welcome to the newbies. Really hope you have lovely, uneventful pregnancies with healthy little ones at the end.

Welcome to the newcomers (waves)

I don't envy any of you havi g to buy prams etc, I got so stressed last time round with getting my pram delivered etc that um so glad I have our from my youngest, we'll he didn't use it it's brand new, the pream we had fell apart while out with him when he was about 18months so they refunded the money on a credit mote so we bought another pram there and then as we knew we wanted another and got a lighter buggy for DS to use.

Miami81 · 01/08/2017 10:05

I have started looking at car seats and prams as well wlm. I am trying to decide whether to go for a 0-4 seat that stays in the car and then not bother with the whole travel system thing and then just get a pram/ buggy thing for everyday.
I would like to get a seat that is lie flat or as close to as possible and accords with all the current safety legislation. It's all a bit difficult to figure out though. Due to family history and funny uterus the baby may come slightly early (around 36 wks maybe) so want to make sure whatever we get works for smaller babies.

TheLegendOfBeans · 01/08/2017 11:16

Miami

If you're not fussed about using car seat as a pram then may I suggest the Britax Romer?

We have one and it's rear facing and adjusts "flatness" to to baby being 18kg I think....from 18kg+ it's forward facing. I think the max weight is 21kg but I could be talking bollocks.

Have a look anyway Grin

Miami81 · 01/08/2017 12:05

Legend
I was looking at romers last night. Ok great, will have a proper look into them. Thanks

AmyB1986 · 01/08/2017 12:12

@Miami81 I found a site... it's called babytravel.uk.com they have everything there and they have a sale on at the min. I got a limited edition travel system half price. They're brilliant.
I went for the travel system this time as I never had one with my other girls and really wanted a pram both time but couldn't get one as I didn't have a car. I was on and off the bus and trains with a buggy which was great for me. This time I'll be walking more and in the car.

rider1975 · 01/08/2017 13:25

Hello and welcome to the newcomers Grin
It's such an eye opener reading of the ladies a little further down the line. I never thought of beyond 12 weeks and imagine it's torture waiting for scans.
Super nervous for my scan at 9+2 tomorrow. Got a cheeky second reassurance scan from the NHS as the two hospitals didn't talk with each other. I'm grateful!

DancingUnicorn · 01/08/2017 13:41

We are very close in dates rider. I am 9+4 today. My last pregnancy stopped developing at 9+5, so my anxiety has ramped up this week. There's no way to know if things are still ok. Counting down to 12 week scan. 22 days to go. Seems ages away!

rider1975 · 01/08/2017 13:47

Oh no Dancing Sad
I had a good scan at 7+3 and had the first ever hb detected - my previous MMCs didnt get to this point. I'm so scared but hopeful. I keep saying that at 42 and previous history, it can't be happening.
The thing I'm clinging on to a bit is the twinges always below - because if nothing were developing, I wouldn't get twinges. Straws/clutching ...

itsgoingtoofast · 01/08/2017 17:59

Thanks so much for the lovely welcome!

@FuzzyOwl thanks for sharing your story with me, sounds like we've had a v similar bumpy road. Fingers crossed for smoother ride this time round. I conceived DD the month following my MMC and had a totally straightforward pregnancy. My anxiety levels were through the roof though and I swore I would never put myself through it again. It's strange how you can forget the intensity of the worry. I suppose the pay off is so great if it works that you are willing to put yourself through it time and again. I'm just trying to forget about it for now but it is hard.

Exciting times to be looking at cat seats/ prams etc. Definitely makes it all seem more real, but some big decisions to be made. I was a bit of a nightmare on the buy and sell pages and got a few versions, sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to get something that suits your needs! I settled on a baby jogger city mini gt last time, it was definitely my favourite. And you can get adapters for car seats and carry cots, I felt it grew with us if you know what I mean, and it's great for naps and holidays! Not sure if that helps any 😊

TheLegendOfBeans · 01/08/2017 18:06

Hello everyone and new joiners

Just a quick check in to say I've basically started buying wee baby clothes and now I can't stop. I'm 29weeks tomorrow (TWENTY NINE OMG) and now freaking the feck out because I've bought all this stuff I've almost now guaranteed something will go awry. You'd think I'd be out of the mental woods by now ffffffs.

In other news I find out next week what my CS date is - I'm just going for it and not going to try and VBAC as I'm convinced my incredible unopening cervixâ„¢ will strike again and I don't fancy having my vagina rummaged about in by all and sundry again.

itsgoingtoofast · 01/08/2017 18:13

@TheLegendOfBeans that's lovely! Buying little baby clothes is the loveliest thing.... I don't think I ever got out of the mental woods with my DD until she was born, but i think that's quite understandable.

Will be great to get you ELCS date next week, so good to know exactly when it will happen. Or maybe that's just me being a control freak! I loved knowing when it would be and found it a lovely calm and controlled experience. I hope you find the same when the time comes.

WLMcI · 02/08/2017 09:27

@LegendofBeans The jealousy of being 29 weeks! Perfect time for the nesting to kick inbut I agree, the clothes are so so cute and they all coordinate with different leggings/skirts/cardigans and it's impossible to stop even when you're buying for somebody else's kid! Enjoy it and just tell everyone else to buy you all the boring stuff"Thanks for the offer, I'd love for you to get me a steriliser or a nappy bin." Grin

Thanks for all the suggestions / commiserations re: car seats and prams! I think I'm not bothered about a travel system, as I plan to baby-carry mostly and use the pram only occasionally (I'm never in shops or cities anywayTesco doesn't count!and when walking along country roads a pram can't dive for the hedge from b*$%ard drivers). I would definitely get a car seat with ISOFIX that can move from my car into my in-laws' car by just clicking onto the base. Problem is, my car doesn't seem to be compatible with fecking ANYTHING! Will have to go in person to get it fitted and skip the nice online deals, boo! Envy

Lifeofpies · 02/08/2017 09:43

Ladies, im in Epau and I've had another MMC. Was spotting a bit and didn't feel right. Only had a private scan on Friday and it was looking great. I just can't believe it. I'm alone, waiting to speak to the sister.

Lifeofpies · 02/08/2017 09:44

Do you think they'll offer me an eprc again? Don't think I can cope with waiting.

mogulfield · 02/08/2017 10:00

pies I'm so sorry Flowers MMC are such a shock I hope you're doing ok. They should let you do as you wish. I had a medically managed one (don't know the medical name), but they gave me a pill, then I went back in the next day and had a pessary and then I miscarried about 2 hours later.
It was pretty easy and didn't feel too much pain.
I didnt want to wait ages like you and have it happen naturally at home.
I hope they let you do as you wish, and look after yourself Flowers

Lifeofpies · 02/08/2017 10:00

Did I do something do you think? I just don't understand it.

Lifeofpies · 02/08/2017 10:03

Thank you Mogul, so much. I know people have multiple MMC & MCs, it just feels like it can't be bad luck but maybe it is. Hopefully they can shed some light from the scan. So cross with myself for beginning to get excited.

Sarmster · 02/08/2017 10:13

@pies I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there anyone you can call to come and wait with you? I should think you"ll be able to have another erpc if that's what you want.

Have you done another scan?

Don't be cross with yourself. This is not because of something you did and it's entirely out of your control. I know it sucks after you've been so excited. Please take care of yourself Flowers

mogulfield · 02/08/2017 10:20

It's nothing you've done pies, and it's natural to feel excited. Don't feel guilty! Everyone feels excited about a pregnancy.
I've just been to the toilet and wiped red blood Sad
I have literally just returned from my scan (saw baby an hour ago) and everything was fine (heartbeat seen and 11 weeks) so feeling worried and confused. Is the likelihood that it's ok? So bloody worried.
