Re the blood I had 9 days of red bleeding from weeks 6 to 7. It was either my cervix or the placenta further implanting. It is not uncommon. Glad you are not too worried. Although I knew it was common and that my first baby survived that, only to succumb to something else later, the fact that it was so similar and at the same point in the pregnancy I admit I did worry about it. It felt too much like a repeat of a familiar unhappy pattern.

Miami81 · 31/07/2017 12:34

Pies
I had bleeding between wk 5 - 13. Mine was a combination of a number of things, first scan was at 6+3 and they confirmed that the implantation site was looking a small bit bruised therefore explained the bleeding early on. Mine was mostly brown, only one small clot or two over that time and ended up just mostly being annoying. It was hard though, it's very difficult to believe in things when there is blood!!
Sweetie
I am just 19 weeks and have felt a couple of small flutters and a couple of taps but nothing that made me think - oh yeah that's definitely the baby. Hoping things develop into stronger movements this week.

TeaAndPjs · 31/07/2017 12:50

Just place Marking till I go back and catch up properly :) hope everyone is well

I have my follow up scan this afternoon, you g in hoping for the best but expecting the worst

Lifeofpies · 31/07/2017 12:59

That's amazing Brenna - thank goodness for a few saving graces, hey?! And your perseverance... I hope the consultant appt is useful anyway. Thanks for your experience re bleeding. I'm going to try and be cool about it, unless it changes/I start getting cramps.

Lifeofpies · 31/07/2017 13:02

Thank you Miami, it helpful to know others have had similar (but obviously sorry that anyone has any bleeding!)

All the very best for today Tea. How are you doing?

Hello all. I've been a lurker for quite some time but managed to pluck up the courage to finally post. I've loved reading all your stories and it does make me feel more positive for what's to come.

I had a MMC in March 2017 and had a ERPC in April. We waited a few cycles and I got my BFP on the 19 July. I think I am 5.3 weeks today and have my first scan booked for the 10 Aug.

Bit of a nervous as I had no bleeding or pain before my MMC. I only found out at my early scan at around 7 or 8 weeks (just a sac and nothing else). I'm hoping for much better news this time around xx

peachgreen · 31/07/2017 15:07

Welcome @Sarmster! So sorry for your loss Flowers but so happy to have you here with us. And what a lovely quick BFP!

I had a MMC back in October - no pain of bleeding, just slow growth and we found out the baby had died at 11.5 weeks. I'm now 15 weeks with this one and we had a good scan at 14 weeks which showed everything was going perfectly. So it is very possible!

TeaAndPjs · 31/07/2017 15:34

Thanks ladies :) scan went well and they've dated me at 6+1, clear scan and strong HB so no more scans till 12 weeks.

samster stay positive :) I've had 3 losses in 10 months and 2 were MMC, no signs or warnings before reassurance scan. Fingers crossed that all is well :)

Sarmster · 31/07/2017 16:21

Thanks @peachgreen that definitely makes me feel better. Sorry to hear about your previous mmc. I was such a nervous wreck last time so determined to be positive and happy this pregnancy!

That's great news @teaandpjs You must be feeling amazing after that! Sorry to hear about your previous mmcs. Everything crossed that all remains well.

Brenna24 · 31/07/2017 17:07

Great news tea.

hi and welcome Sarmster. Sorry about your loss. Congratulations on the new pregnancy. I had a MMC, then two early losses and am now past the point any of them have got to. Hopefully you will sail through this one. I tend to bleed in early pregnancy, but that is in no way related to my losses and is a red herring there. The only sign of the MMC was my symptoms disappearing between 8 and 9 weeks (baby died at 8, found out at 10 weeks reassurance scan, miscarried naturally at 11w3d). It is going to be a long 8 weeks for you to get through this first trimester, but we are all here with you.

itsgoingtoofast · 31/07/2017 17:21

Hi, I'm tentatively joining..... feeling every emotion at a v early BFP last Wednesday after a miscarriage at 8 weeks at the start of June. Feeling very lucky to have a positive test so quickly, but also petrified of the coming weeks. This is my 5th pregnancy, have 2 kids and had1 MMC in between them 5 years ago.

I'm not sure how far on I am, I think around 4 weeks. I had a strange period last month so hard to date. Will be calling epu to start the early scan rollercoaster again soon. Not ready yet!

Lifeofpies · 31/07/2017 18:10

Welcome sarmster itsgoingtoofast - wishing you all the best for these early weeks.

Tea that's fantastic news about the scan, so great to see a hb X

thisismadness77 · 31/07/2017 19:00

I went to see the consultant at the hospital today, they did tests after my last miscarriage, and the test results were a bit vague. So she didn't have much to say but I was able to ask a few questions etc. I said I'd started 75mg aspirin already even though her letter said to start when I get a + test. She said no problem keep taking them but when I get a + test to double it to 150mg as that's the latest advice. So it was worth it just for that. She also said I would have to do daily heparin shots after a 6 week scan. I told her my fears that I might just be too old (40 next month) and she said she couldn't deny that my eggs wouldn't be the best of the bunch as the best ones get released first when you start puberty. She also asked how easily I conceived and agreed that I might have an unfussy womb. :)
Anyway I'm going to wait before testing, due on sometime this week so will wait at least till next Monday. I wasn't expecting to wait to see the consultant in the same place that you wait for scans, so felt a bit unsettled by that. I've had two sad scans there. Lots of happy couples clutching scan pics today. So glad to have my wee girl, we baked when I got home and I made her toad in the hole just for her. Two glasses of wine were drunk before 6pm :)

Hi ladies! I'm back on board having been slightly AWOL since the wedding!!

I was sorry to read your news megs. I hope you've got lots of support at home and plenty of chocolate/wine/gin (delete as appropriate!)

Also pleased to hear some good news from people aswell! Must be a relief to have some positive news for everyone- I remember crying all over the sonographer at the scan I had at 9 weeks when I was convinced I'd lost it! The relief is unreal.

So now my question of the day is: how do you stop yourself going completely crazy between 12 and 20 weeks?! I'll be 14 weeks on Friday and I'm in full on limbo. I can't feel baby yet (which I know is fully normal as I've seen it move and still couldn't persuade myself I could feel it!!) and neither do I look pregnant yet. I just look like I've eaten too many biscuits (which may or may not be true). It's bloody agonising having no evidence that I'm actually pregnant other than these random women that keep putting this thing on my belly and coming out with a picture of baby. Tell me I'm not the only one who feels like a complete fraud?! It's a very weird limbo- one I didn't think I'd get to, but now it's here I'm just lost. Like I don't know if my baby is still alive in there or not (positive mental attitude really doing the business today not)

peachgreen · 31/07/2017 20:17

@NoParticularPattern I feel exactly the same way! 15 weeks and other than being a bit weepy / tired and the occasional dry heave (which almost feels like it's habit now?!) I can't tell I'm pregnant at all. It's so bizarre! I've even stopped wanting to talk about it because I'm convinced it's disappeared!

I hope my midwife listens to the heartbeat at 16 weeks else I'm going to go bananas!

Miami81 · 31/07/2017 20:28

Hey pattern and peach it is really really tough. I actually thought I was gonna lose it at 16 wks when the mw refused to do heartbeat.
So I consoled myself with the fact that actually it is extraordinarily rare for things to go wrong at this point with no indications. I started to get really serious round ligament pain (or as we call them in our house, baby growing pains) so I have found them strangely reassuring too. 20 week scan on Tuesday next week and I am still slightly convinced that the lady will not find anything. Anyway take it day by day. We are all on this crazy rollercoaster together. I am sure you will be fine.

NoParticularPattern · 31/07/2017 20:43

[waves] to Peach and Miami!!

Oh god I'm so glad I'm not alone!! And I thought the two week wait was bloody agonising!! I think I do get the ligament pain- mostly when I stand up or bend over too quickly. Kind of feels like a popping/twanging in the region where I imagine the wings of my pelvis sit? Almost ovulation type pain but further out to the side and on both sides not just one?! Or I'm just weird haha!

I don't have my 16 week appointment until I'm 17 weeks as my midwife is away, but I'm hoping that will mean she will definitely listen for baby?! Argh I just so want to make sure junior is still in there!!

DancingUnicorn · 31/07/2017 20:49

It's strange isn't it. Right now I'm wishing away time to the 12 week scan, but I'm sure if I get to that point the next wait will be torture! Our unit does the 20 week scan at 22 weeks as standard too! I hope you ladies start feeling movements soon to reassure you!

NoParticularPattern · 31/07/2017 20:52

Also yes to the weepy behaviour. I cried at the dogs trust advert the other day. Not at the sad looking dogs- but because one of the balloon dogs was stuck in a tree. Later that day I was also incandescent with rage about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Yeah I'm pretty certain I'm nuts.

My next question is- supportive maternity bras?! I'm still in my usual ones (mainly because they were already non wired so I can get away with them being too small for longer!) but I'm starting to feel like I should wear something more supportive and possibly also at night? I'm sick of my boobs doing the Miranda boob clap every time I turn over. Or they wedge in my armpits and it's desperately uncomfortable when you have to extricate your sore nipples from under poor DHs arm/face/wherever. Also my nipples are beginning to leak some weird clear fluid of their own free will so I need to not stick to everything!!

Sorry that was an essay. I've been deprived!!

FuzzyOwl · 31/07/2017 20:56

Welcome Sarmster and I had more symptoms when my mmc than any other pregnancy. I know it is hard but you really cannot go by symptoms alone (or lack of them) to determine anything.

Hi itsgoingtoofast and welcome. I've also had five pregnancies, one mmc, two children and a miscarrige in June. Completely understand you being petrified! Hope it all goes well for you.

MsJuniper · 31/07/2017 21:06

Hi everyone, poking my toe in cautiously...

I got a faint BFP last Monday which got stronger across the week and 2-3 weeks on a cb digi yesterday.

I have had 6 mc since having my DS. The last couple were chemicals within days of getting a + so this is already progress.

Feel like I've thrown everything at this one as I have lost 2 stone, I'm taking aspirin on the advice of the RMC and had an endometrial scratch as part of a medical trial which is supposed to improve chances.

Unfortunately due to a lot of comfort eating over the last few years I could still have done with losing a fair bit more and age is against me at 41. I am hopeful but also terrified.

Hope I get to stick around here and hear about all your progress.

AmyB1986 · 31/07/2017 21:49

Hi all hope you're all ok...

Welcome to all the new comers, congrats and wishing you uneventful pregnancies.

@NoParticularPattern with regards to bras. At the min I'm still in my ordinary underwire bras as my boobs haven't grown and they support me pretty well. At night I've been wearing a soft sports bra and breast pads (also leaking). The sports bra stops my boobs flopping all over the place and keeps the breast pads were they should be! The reason I started wearing it in the first place was because DH had slept on my boob and woken up with a sticky face 😖 the breast pads are washable as well from Tesco.

I've seen a lot about baby movement being mentioned. I felt a few bubbles and pops around 18 weeks and some swishing sensations. I've an anterior placenta and even now don't feel a lot some days and it's always really low down. I've had a few times when an arm or elbow has been visibly moving but I can't feel it I can just see it.

I'm still having these horrible contractions and griping stomach pains. I can't put my finger on what could be irritating things more. Seems the contractions will get worse after I've had a busy day and then sit down. Keeping my eye on it.

Bit of a ramble there, sorry for the long post

Brenna24 · 31/07/2017 22:52
