Willow I'm sorry. It can happen. I've had brown discharge and spotting when wiping this time around. Seems to have eased off now. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing for you. Strange for me, as with my mc I had literally no indications!!

Great news sock and Haz.

Thinking of you Willow. Lots of women do bleed during pregnancy and, of those that do, more go on to have healthy babies than don't. I have had a bleed and all been ok; likewise, I haven't bled at all and still miscarried. Every pregnancy really is different and I really hope things go well for you.

mamma I think consultants usually want to see you as few times as possible, so hopefully most of your appointments will be with your midwife. I seem to recall there are loads of reasons that make you high risk but sometimes the consultant just wants to see the mother once (or occasionally just read the notes) and that is all.

I am not certain of my dates as I haven't had a period in between my last miscarriage but I think I am around four weeks. I feel quite nauseous today which is a first, as I don't usually suffer from morning sickness. I have two children, one who has just turned two (who I was originally on this thread for, but under a different username) and the other one is nine months, so I was hoping for another easy pregnancy as looking after them and not feeling well is rubbish.

Brenna24 · 18/07/2017 10:50

Good news. 9+3. Kicking, punching, wriggling and objecting to the whole process. This is now officially my longest surviving pregnancy. Grin

That sounds horrible Say. I hope you feel better now. It is so sad we feel like that but I know I am not alone and you guys have been such a help.

Sirry you are feeling rubbish too Peach.

willow I hope you are wrong. I have had bleeding and symptoms come and go this pregnancy and it all felt so familiar. But I am very happy to have been proved wrong so far.

I am back home and have just eaten a giant cream cake while typing this. Now sipping a nice cup of decaf earl grey. I feel good today (apart from the nausea and heartburn but the cake has dealt with the nausea and made the heartburn worse).

WillowCloud · 18/07/2017 11:30

That's the best news Brenna....I think you've earned that cream cake!!!

I hope you're all right and this is just a blip. Time will tell. I already have three children (this is pregnancy no. 7) and am pretty ancient (43) so I'm feeling really lucky to have what I have and quite philsophical/ stoic about it all.

It's really encouraging to hear all the positive stories though so thank-you!

TheLegendOfBeans · 18/07/2017 11:32

Good news Brenna and Haz phew xx

FuzzyOwl · 18/07/2017 11:40

Great news Brenna.

I really hate the anxiety and how time goes so slowly.

SayItIsntSo1 · 18/07/2017 11:44

Great news Brenna. Very pleased for you!

So very happy for @Brenna24 - this is great news

mammabear4 · 18/07/2017 13:07

Fantastic news Brenna and Haz!

I so sympathise peach hope you can find something to settle the sickness. I've had 3 slices of toast today and I'm starving but not sure I can eat more toast??

FuzzyOwl thanks that's reassuring! Hopefully I can just discuss my preferences with the consultant and then see the midwives from then on!

Hazandduck · 18/07/2017 13:10

Ah great news @Brenna! And thank you everyone for your kind words, it has really touched me.

@Willow for me pregnancy symptoms are so similar to period symptoms, fingers crossed it is the same for you! Have you spoken to EPU or a midwife about an early scan? Crossing everything for you.

@Say that sounds horrible :( hope you are feeling less anxious when you get home. Sometimes it just all overwhelms doesn't it!

@Peach oh that's crap about the sickness!! Is there something that worsens it at all or is it just random?
xxx

EmFe · 18/07/2017 14:45

Haz and Brenna really happy to hear your good news

JcleRoux thanks for welcome - not certain of dates as cycles been up in air ever since last mc so I think probably 4.5ish - still super early and convinced I will be departing this thread only too soon

How early can I book a reassurance scan, if I make it til then? I guess probably not worth it until seven weeks?

minniemouseears · 18/07/2017 15:05

Hope everyone ok reading back through as been off a few days glad all was well with those who've had scares or scans the last few days
@mamabear4 I had twins when ds and dd where 3 and 2... hard work but can't have been so bad currently pregnant with what I hope will be our 6th and I'm not totally mad yet... I don't think

Hazandduck · 18/07/2017 15:23

Thanks @Emfe. I think they say before 7 - 8 weeks is probably not worth it as the baby is so tiny, however some places if they can't see anything will invite you back for free a couple of weeks later? Worth asking? Those first few weeks are the worst! I knew I was pregnant pretty much immediately this time round, but I didn't let myself test because I knew once it was confirmed the panic would begin.

Wow @Minnie that's lovely you are on number 6! I'd love to have a big family but I think me and OH will probably only have 3 max now (unless we strike gold and get twins :) )
I say this now - I've not survived having a newborn yet, it may be all too much for me haha.
x

mogulfield · 18/07/2017 16:54

willow I can't stand mogul fields, the last time I went skiing I spent a week with a group who loved them... my jeans barely fitted round my giant muscley thighs on my return! As long as the blood isn't red you're still in with a good chance of all being ok Smile
brenna so pleased to hear about your scab, the odds are in your favour now!
I've got my scan on the 27th, just hoping I make it there Smile

EmFe · 18/07/2017 18:00

:( tiny bit of blood - sort of pinky purply. Gutted although I know it's really early. Is it worth calling doctors? I guess they wouldn't see anything even if they scanned now so no point - but last time even though it was early I had lingering tissue and ended up having a D&C anyway because HCG wouldn't drop

Brenna24 · 18/07/2017 19:04

EmFe I hope the blood is just implantation. You wouldn't see much on a scan, but if you can find someone to check your HCG doubling time that would tell you whether or not the pregnancy was progressing. It is a horrible, scary time. Flowers

Thanks everyone. I am shattered this evening.

NoParticularPattern · 18/07/2017 20:29

Oh yay I'm so pleased for all the good news on here!! Big happy grins for all you ladies.

EmFe I'm hoping you manage to get some reassurance from someone. I had brown spotting at 4.5wks and then a couple of bits of red streaked discharge at around 9. Both times everything was fine (had repeat hcg bloods done at 5wks and a scan at 9+1). Fingers firmly crossed for you. Although it's early, your gp will be able to offer you an hcg blood test to ensure that your numbers are doubling. It really helped to reassure me! Big hugs

Today I have been giving out flowers and wedding cake to anyone that would take them. Otherwise I'm in danger of eating it all and looking 8 months gone before I even reach 3! Eat all the cake that is. I don't think the flowers will agree with junior either!!

Lifeofpies · 18/07/2017 20:52

EmFe I'm sorry to hear about the bleeding, I hope it's just implantation. I had a fair bit of bleeding early on with DS but a scan revealed a haematoma, so that's also a possibility?

Cake sounds great NoParticularPattern

Had an early scan at EPAU today after lots of localised pain y'day - all is fine so far and we even say a heartbeat. Very special after a MMC. I'm booking a private scan for 9 weeks, that's the next goal. Finding it hard to trust my body and interpret symptoms...

Any other first trimester folk feeling incredibly greasy and bloated?

Brenna24 · 18/07/2017 21:02

Great news pies. 9 weeks is a good point to aim for Wink

I too am sweaty, greasy and so bloated I look about 20 weeks, not 9. I am having to wash my hair every day instead of every second day. It will all be worth it in the end though.

mammabear4 · 18/07/2017 21:20

pattern I totally skipped your previous post - massive congrats on the wedding!!

minniemouse you are total super woman I can't imagine 4 under 3 - 6 children sounds amazing, love the idea of a big family but not sure I could manage!

Brenna and pies another here who is feeling fat and greasy. I'm breaking out in spots like a teenager, I have no energy to shower, I've barely left the house for a week. Lucky DH!

Anybody got any opinions on finding out the sex at the 20 week scan? We didn't with DD and absolutely loved having the surprise. However with the twins we have more of an urge to "be prepared" plus if at least one is a boy I don't like any boys names so they will be nameless if we leave it til they're born! Finding out might encourage us to get deciding!

Sweetyboo · 19/07/2017 00:36

So many good news congrats to all

Lifeofpies · 19/07/2017 07:42

If all works out then we will mamabear - it'll help me sort through baby stuff in the loft, but also I just feel like I need to know as much as I can this time. I had antenatal depression with DS and felt very disconnected, I think it might help this time to know.
