I'm 39+2 and eagerly awaiting the arrival of DC2.

Who else is analyzing ever little twinge and cramp??

DD was born 39+5. I was checked over yesterday due to a very tender, sore bump (everything fine) and baby wasn't yet engaged.

Are you all prepared??

Rose part of my placenta was blended with fruit to make a smoothie which I drank yesterday. The rest of it has been made into capsules which should be ready by next week. The smoothie just tasted of fruit, nothing else but I feel amazing!!

SleepForTheWeek · 16/06/2017 14:51

Well I got a sweep but apparently baby still got a way to come down and cervix needs to thin out quite a bit. Have been quite uncomfortable since but told to keep active!

Waters still intact, not sure why I'm so - erm - damp down there!!

Wizard I've heard of the capsules but not the smoothies. I have a friend who would have loved this. I wonder if she knew?!

Sleep it's probably mucous. I've been losing lots of it and possibly my plug for over a week now. Feeling very damp.

SleepForTheWeek · 16/06/2017 19:05

I've been bleeding lightly since sweep and getting regular BH (or contractions??) every 10 mins for that last few hours. They are uncomfortable but not terribly painful - is this just the upset of the sweep do you think or could this be the start of it?? Going to take the dog out soon to get baby to move further down - fingers crossed anyway!

@SleepForTheWeek sounds promising! If I was you I'd stay as active as possible for the next couple of hours!

I was at midwife today 37+5, no sweep booked until 40+3 ConfusedShock .. struggling to accept this baby will come when she's ready! I'm not used to not being in control!!

user1497012351 · 16/06/2017 19:46

Hi everyone I was told the baby is 4/5 engaged yesterday but then I know this means actually 1/5 engaged. She offered me a sweep in 2 weeks time. Today the baby has been kicking me lots and lots if the bits and dancing around a lot.

I think most of you ladies are further along than me though and of course you lucky few who have your babies already!

I bought some emergancy aptimal newborn milk today in ready made bottles for the hospital bag just incase anything goes not to plan. And I've painted my toe nails.

I'm still falling asleep each time I Iisten to the hypno birthing CD so I'm worried none of that is being absorbed!

OhDearToby · 16/06/2017 20:07

That sounds similar to how I was after my sweep with dd2 sleep. She was indeed born that night. I also walked 7 miles that day so that may have helped too Grin

My due date is tomorrow. Very crampy today and loads of painful BH but I've been getting them for months so not reading too much into that. I'm not seeing the midwife until I'm 40+5 but I'm sure I'll get a sweep them. Keep telling myself baby will definitely be here by then though, I've never been that pregnant before!

RosePrincess87 · 16/06/2017 20:28

User I have also bought some emergency formula this time as breast feeding was a disaster with DD1. I'm hoping that because it's sitting in my cupboard that it will mean BF will be easier this time.

SleepForTheWeek · 16/06/2017 21:01

I'm pretty convinced I'm in pre labour - contractions regular every 7 mins and have had a very bloody show. Could be tonight or tomorrow hopefully!!

WizardLizard · 16/06/2017 21:47

Good luck sleep! Really hope this happens for you tonight!

LadyNymeriaGhost · 16/06/2017 22:06

Good luck Sleep!

SleepForTheWeek · 16/06/2017 22:33

Thanks everyone - I'll be gutted if this is a false start!! Just going to bed to rest as much as I can at the moment

Hope you've had a good night, Sleep.
I'm booked in for induction tomorrow at 40+10, so looks like it won't be happening naturally for me now. Got to admit I'm a bit intimidated by the idea of induction. My last labour was so comparatively easy. I was only in hospital for 2 hours before giving birth!

suffolknclose · 17/06/2017 08:10

Have faith Lady - I had DD when I was supposed to be going in for induction, started labour overnight and escaped it at 40+12!

OhDearToby · 17/06/2017 08:32

At least there is a plan in place now lady. You'll have your baby soon one way or another. Fwiw I have had one induction and one spontaneous labour. For me the induction was much faster and by far a more positive experience. The only problems we had were that it made dd1 very sleepy so the early days of breastfeeding were a struggle. Got there in the end though!

LadyNymeriaGhost · 17/06/2017 08:32

Fingers crossed, Suffolk!

WizardLizard · 17/06/2017 09:33

Lady I've just had my 2nd induction due to SROM and this time was the most amazing experience.

Fingers crossed you'll dodge it though - I know so many people who go into labour just before their induction date!

LadyNymeriaGhost · 17/06/2017 09:45

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking contracty-thoughts!

BridgetDarcy · 17/06/2017 09:53

40+3 here and already getting impatient......

suffolknclose · 17/06/2017 10:07

Anyone else really grumpy? 40+3. Just picked a fight with DP about something reasonably trivial and he's tired too so wasted a good hour arguing Sad

Mustbeinsane1984 · 17/06/2017 10:16

Sleep patiently waiting to hear your good news 🙂

Good luck withe the induction lady, I hope it goes fast for you!

I am preparing myself that baby is not going to arrive spontaneously 😢 I had induction after waters broke with my son and contractions failed to start. They bypassed the pessary and gel and straight to the Pintocin? Anyone else been put on the drip without pain relief? Still undecided if I should refuse the drip 😕 If I take an epidural here it is a mobile one, which is good for being mobile in labour, but they use opiates.

CaptainWarbeck · 17/06/2017 10:19

Yes suffolk I'm on terrible form today. Everything DH does is annoying me!! I'm feeling like a right grumpy cow.

I'm 39 weeks today. Couldn't sleep at 4am last night and got up feeling sick, dry retched for about 5 mins but there was nothing there to come up. Horrible but I thought it might be the start of something! Nothing today except for backache (which is pretty standard Angry).

I'm sooo impatient and hate not being in control of this either!

Hope something's happening for you sleep.

CaptainWarbeck · 17/06/2017 10:24

Must same happened to me with DC1. Waters broke, no contractions, got put straight on the drip 24 hours later. Managed 4 hours without pain relief and dilated to 4-5cm before having an epidural. It wasn't a mobile one though, that sounds good.
