Oops time for a new thread. Hope you all find it okay Grin

@lydiangel83 I'm nearly 26 weeks, it was probably 20ish weeks when it improved because I remember I first felt baby move at 18 weeks and I was sleeping in the spare room because I was so fidgety and frustrated that night so it was after 18 weeks!

27 + 3 and woken up feeling twice the size 🙈 joys of twins. Starting antenatal classes tomorrow, consultant Friday and 28wk scan on monday..... 9 weeks to go.....

lydiangel83 · 11/07/2017 13:32

Wow @MSH2010 that's going fast! Is it NHS ante natal classes you're doing? I'm not doing NCT until October and baby due 1st Nov, hoping they don't come early!

MSH2010 · 11/07/2017 18:58

After fighting I've got on an nhs one. Nct was too much for me unfortunately and they are based on single births so glad to get on mine.

They'd offered me September until I asked if I was meant to turn up with two babies in my arms haha

TheLionQueen1 · 11/07/2017 19:10

Are you being induced early MSH because of twins? What's your due date? I've got mine (NHS) in the last two week of August, we also looked at the NCT courses but they are extortionate!!

NHS ones thought are two Wednesday mornings, which I have to be allowed to take off for work but had wanted DH there and that'll be a pain for him! Is everyone else planning on doing classes with or without a partner?

Squigglefish · 11/07/2017 19:10

Anyone else feel their pregnancy is flying over? We've had loads going on and I still don't feel like we have enjoyed it, I am 24 weeks tomorrow. Even pram shopping has been on put on hold for now until life calms down a bit.
My belly Button is on its way out 🙈 everyone keeps saying "there is only one isn't there?" I'm worried I'm too big!

lydiangel83 · 11/07/2017 19:25

@Squigglefish I definitely feel like that! Not got enough weekends free to fit in everything I want to fit in pre-baby!

@MSH2010 I'm paying for NCT because would be difficult for both of us to do NHS ones - see your point re twins though! If DH couldn't make it I'd still go without him - there's one breastfeeding one where they recommend partner goes with you but otherwise I think it's ok

lydiangel83 · 11/07/2017 19:26

@TheLionQueen1 meant to tag you as well sorry!

MSH2010 · 11/07/2017 19:56

Luckily my classes are the next two Wednesday evenings so OH can come

They'll only let me go to 38 weeks, so although my official due date is 7th October I'm counting down to mid September lol

Will know more hopefully after seeing consultant this week and more scans

TheLionQueen1 · 11/07/2017 20:26

Ah I did wonder as I knew I was due around yours as I am due 10th October and was thinking I'd got my timing wrong 😂

When are you finishing work?

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 11/07/2017 20:50

Freaking out a bit!

Cutting some romaine lettuce and some water from inside the bag splat in my eye! Can you get listeria from this?!

MSH2010 · 11/07/2017 21:51

Currently aiming on staying at work as long as possible as can't actually afford the maternity leave. So currently 31st August.

TheLionQueen1 · 11/07/2017 21:58

MSH maternity leave is terrible isn't it? I've got to finish on 11th sept as my job is driving (long distance) and I don't want to be doing that after 36 weeks but feel like I'm wasting maternity that I'm already going to struggle with.

Victoria, I think you are over thinking far too much, you will absolutely not get listeria from that. Did you speak to your MW about your anxieties? You're going to end up stressing yourself out Hun wth concerns like that?

ew1990 · 11/07/2017 22:15

Same with not being able to afford maternity leave but I'm planning on taking it when I'm 35 weeks, I can't be on my feet for 12 hours for much longer than that, and I'd already booked 2 weeks annual leave at the end of September so don't wanna have 2 week off and go back to go back off, although I may have to go back for a week or two because of finances, I'll have a chat with oh about this in the next week, he's got a good paying job but I don't want all the financial pressure to be on him if you know what I mean?

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 11/07/2017 22:37

@TheLionQueen1 yeah and she basically said it's common to have anxieties 😂

MSH2010 · 12/07/2017 07:28

What a relief to hear bbc breakfast talking about wanting home doblers banned from general sale. I can't believe it's took this long!!

TheLionQueen1 · 12/07/2017 07:49

I loved my Doppler and still use it occasionally to hear the heartbeat, I think it's just about using it sensibly and knowing you are not a trained professional so may not always hear it not being reliant on it. Also understanding that movement is far more important. My MW still hasn't even checked the baby's heartbeat and I'm 27 weeks, without the Doppler we wouldn't have heard it yet!

ScotsLamb · 12/07/2017 10:06

Hello all
I'm a first time Mum due Christmas Eve. Live in Scotland with my partner of 5 years.
I am forever on the anxiety bench too. I have bought an excellent book (I'm a mathematician so it's two birds with one stone) called "Debunking the Bump" which takes all the rules and worriea of pregnancy and say the actual scientific risk to them all. It's amazing. Well worth getting out the library if you are feeling anxious about things like listeria, toxoplasmosis, hot tubs etc.

I'm seeing my midwife today and I really hope she looks for the heartbeat. My nausea has reduced significantly as well as my sore boobs so I'm worried all is not well. I also have pretty much no bump for being 16 + 3.

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 12/07/2017 11:10

@ScotsLamb what's it say about listeria and toxoplasmosis? 🙈

ScotsLamb · 12/07/2017 16:24

Toxoplasmosis stats. Mostly through raw or undercooked meat. No mention of cats...

ScotsLamb · 12/07/2017 16:29

Causes of listeria in America per year. It's generally because of the frequency in which they are consumed i.e. Daily compared with soft cheese etc so infrequent. It says heat all meat before eating to reduce risk. However have you ever heard of anyone having issues with sandwich ham etc?

This might make you worry more now lol sorry! ☺️
