Aww Bella that's lovely, your mum is obviously team pink 😇

AmandaP86x · 29/05/2017 20:16

I'm actually so shattered.

Had such a busy day loads of girls came to ward for scans today and they where all fine 😊 lovely wee beans with wee flickering hearts! Was lovely to see - could feel myself filling up ha ha!!! #hormones

aww @BellaMoon that's so lovely. I really hope my mum is watching over me and making this a easy pregnancy.

I keep having the weirdest of dreams honestly!!

@Dollydaydream2829 Aw I hope I get some energy soon. My shifts r so over the place usually I dunno if this is pregnancy or just my usual nurse tiredness lol!!!!

Another dayshift tomorrow and Saturday nightshift 🙄

bakingmad83 · 29/05/2017 21:19

Bella, a friend of mine saw 3 magpies on the way to her 20wk scan, which she took as a sign and sure enough she came away with the news she was expecting a girl :)

Welcome flamingo and huge congratulations :)

Moo31 · 29/05/2017 22:43

@Bella it's a girl!!!! 😃 what a lovely sign from your mum - she will be watching over you and her precious granddaughter Xo

I had a meltdown earlier. I've been feeling faint / dizzy all day - told oh I've been "poorly" today which normally relates to "toilet business". He jokingly said he didn't want to hear about it and i sobbed cried - probablu because i was worried about the faintness / dizziness (which apparently is normal.and probably related to low blood sugar). Bless him he didn't know what to do (and he really hates hearing about bathroom business lol!)

Moo31 · 29/05/2017 22:43

@flamingo congratulations!! 😃

BellaMoon · 30/05/2017 07:03

morning ladies

iv been having a ginger cracker as soon as i wake up since the advice the other day and i have to say, i think it's working! yay woo hoo. i definitely can't go more than 2-3 hours without food as that's when the queezy feeling kicks in!

at least my mum and her magpies have stopped his obsession. he even started a conversation about girls names last night! i didn't want to end up with him mourning the son he thought he had (again due to great advice from you lovely lot)! we have decided on the gender scan so only 6 weeks to wait for that then we will know for sure. we aren't going to tell any family or friends but i'll let you girls know if you wanna know!

so apparently wk10 brings weight gain! any advice ladies (according to ovia)! iv gained 3 lbs this far but want to avoid whatever i can. i eat mainly fresh produce normally, )not going to lie i had a crisp sandwich last week. was fucking amazing)! is this weight gain wholly baby related or is it appetite? any advice is very welcome xxx

AmandaP86x · 30/05/2017 07:37

@BellaMoon iv not even weighed myself 😭 lol!! Actually been quite bad cause I can't decide what I want ever 😂 the thought of cooking is giving me the boke lol!!

I woke up with some crampy/windy makes u freak out so much

Scan tomorrow though positive positive positive thinking

BellaMoon · 30/05/2017 07:51

i was routinely weighing in every tuesday as i was following the slimming world plan. had put on a stone since wedding in nov (i blame honeymoon, christmas, birthday not the fact that i'm a greedy sod 🙈) so i was trying to get that off before conceiving. hahahaha aye right said mother nature! so in first week or so of BFP i actually lost about 5-6lbs so having regained 3 of that i don't feel too bad BUT have booking in appt on friday and i don't really want any lectures from the midwife. 🤞🏼 i'm not going to be fat shamed

everything crossed for you tomorrow @AmandaP86x please keep us posted xxx

Moo31 · 30/05/2017 08:06

Bella there's a good bit in my book about weight gain - it splits it all down i.e. X lbs is for this and X is for that. It also tells you an average rate for weight gain. I'm worried as I've only put 2/3 lbs on so far. Going to mention to mw later.

AmandaP86x · 30/05/2017 08:42

Oh god @Moo31 I should maybe weigh myself btw lol!

I wish to god I was like 17 weeks today hahaha crazy how u wish ur life away 😭

bakingmad83 · 30/05/2017 08:54

Moo, I wouldn't worry too much about not putting on much weight. I've not put on any at 15 weeks. And with DS I only put on 12lb the whole pregnancy and he was a healthy 7lb 15oz. They're only averages given and every pregnancy/woman is different. I guess they don't weigh you routinely after booking appointment as they don't want you getting bogged down by weight. More important to be eating well rather than worrying too much either way about how much/little weight you've put on. I've a background in nutrition, so there is some truth in this rather than just my opinion :)

Also Moo, for me last pregnancy, feeling dizzy was related to low blood pressure. At my 16 week appointment last time it was down to 80/55, but by 25 weeks was back to something a bit more normal.

bakingmad83 · 30/05/2017 08:57

Sorry, posted too early. Mw told me that drinking extra fluid was good way to keep blood pressure up, but if yours is down to low blood sugar good idea to eat carbs little and often.

Roseandbee · 30/05/2017 09:02

Bella I love crisps, although I hope I make up for it loving vegetables too. That's exciting about your scan, you should get some great pics on that one too! I can wait to see something that looks like a baby.

Amanda I've not weighed myself either, I have scale fear. I did get weighed at one of my fertility appointments and I was just over health bmi so did go on a bit of a diet for the few months before Bfp. I totally thought it was weds today and your scan, why does time play these cruel tricks!
Moo I've been sobbing for almost no reason I've had to explain to DH that this is what it's like living with a pregnant woman, then got angry at him that he's not read up on what to expect. Think he's finally started to get that I don't need a massive bump to feel like crap

Sophsta · 30/05/2017 09:29

My weight has largely stayed the same (long may it continue). Although I hope I start to like some vegetables soon!

I told my family yesterday as we were put for a meal for my birthday and they were all very excited! I've had to rein in my mum who wants to shout it from the rooftops but they were so happy. It was nice for tell her as she had exactly the same morning sickness as me-feeling generally queasy and an aversion to certain foods. Nice to know she was never sick!

This morning I was supposed to have my booking in appointment but the midwife has had to move it as she's covering the clinic. I'm a bit disappointed but she's coming back on Thursday. It's a food job I'm on half term! Does anyone else have their booking in appointment at their house? Definitely added pressure!

Dollydaydream2829 · 30/05/2017 11:30

Moo - I felt dizzy and faint around 12 weeks, was awful at my work. Had to take a couple nights off. Luckily I was going for my scan that day and spoke to the midwife - my BP was low and I had some ketones in my urine which shows dehydration. It was in the midst of my worst sickness still so hoping that now I've stopped being sick and that I am no longer feeling dizzy, that it'll be fine again! But your midwife appt should check all that today? Could also mean you may be anaemic?

Ive actually been weighing myself weekly too, just to give myself something else to worry aboit so that I can get an idea of how much I'm gaining. I started off at my post honeymoon weight top that I'd struggled to shift - then lost 4lbs during the first trimester due to the vomiting probs, and since 13 weeks, have put on 5lbs! Whoops! Although I'm gonna say I've only put on 1lb since I found out. Sounds much better Haha!
I would love to have just a little pregnancy weight gain like you baking but feel like I'm prob gonna be one of the 4stoners

Aww rose - my DH is exactly the same! In all fairness, he totally picked up his game when I was ill throughout the first few weeks - doing more housework etc but he STILL doesn't understand the concept of 'hormonal' and 'mood swings' and just thinks I'm irrational 24/7. Can't win....

Aww that's lovely sophsta - it makes you more excited when everyone else is excited eh?? My midwife suggested coming to the house for my 16week appt on Thurs. I politely declined and said I'd feel more comfortable at the clinic. I wouldn't have minded but I'm working before it so wouldn't have a chance to get the place looking immaculate lol

AmandaP86x · 30/05/2017 12:03

@Dollydaydream2829 aw that's a shame I feel a bit dizzy but I really can't tell between just shift work tiredness or pregnancy.

I really have such a fear about tomorrow - I am half tempted to phone down see if there is an earlier app. 😭

bakingmad83 · 30/05/2017 13:20

Sorry your booking appointment had to be rearranged. There was another thread on here over the weekend about appointments with me at home - seemed that's what they do in some areas and someone thought that style of care was more personalised.

Dolly, hoping I actually put on more this time though, as ended up weighing less than before pregnancy and lost a further 10lb with breastfeeding. I was already slightly underweight so felt a bit rubbish tbh.

AmandaP86x · 30/05/2017 13:37

That is a shame about booking appt 😭 I haven't even phoned to arrange mines yet I'll wait until tomorrow xx

Roseandbee · 30/05/2017 16:02

My booking apt is on 6th june, its at home, but all my midwife appointments will be, using one2one midwives (they are case loading midwives) so you get the same midwife all the way through to post natal (only i think they can only deliver the baby if you have a home birth). Not hugely keen on the at home thing, cos i get stressed whenever i have visitors but after having to go to the docs and hospitals a lot lately I can see the benefits of a more personal service.
I've also been dizzy quite a lot, it was one of my first pre bfp symptoms, that made me think It could be my bfp.

Dolly my hospital visit has really shaken DH up, he's taking it all much more seriously now, every cloud!

Im so gonna use my pma to try and make my boobs stay big and the rest of me go small post birth, you never know it could happen!

AmandaP86x · 30/05/2017 19:51

Aw @Roseandbee that sounds good then coming to house. They don't do that in Scotland I don't think never heard of it. My midwife appt will be in hospital and then in my GP practice.

How u feeling otherwise cycle buddy? R u gonna have a scan xxx

Moo31 · 30/05/2017 22:39

@Bella this is what I mentioned this morning. They say 2-4lbs in 1st tri and 1lb per week 2nd and 3rd tri so a total of around 2 stone overall.

Thank you for all the advice re weight - you all me made feel so ok about it I forgot to ask the midwife lol!

@Rose I like the sound of the one2one thing but don't think it's available in NI either but it sounds really good :)

@Soph That's great about telling your family - your mum sounds like mine! Grin Frustrating about your booking app but at least they haven't put it back too far! It's really boring anyway but a good milestone to get past :)

My midwife app went really well - she set me all up to listen to the heartbeat and warned us that it might take her a while to find it then she put the Doppler on and boom! there it was! Beating away! Amazing! Grin She kept it on for a good 5 mins and baby kept moving away / kicking / didn't like being being poked! She said we have a lively one lol!

Also I don't think they made it clear at my booking app when I got my maternity file that you need to bring the file to EVERY appt - I threw it in the car this morning on the off chance I would need it and i did! She wrote loads in it.

Re dizziness she checked blood pressure and it's fine. She didn't do bloods as they were done at booking app and i haven't heard anything which suggests they were ok so she isn't too worried. Said it might be the weather / keep eating at regular intervals / keep hydrated - thanks for all your advice on that too!

The midwife also mentioned some new research that says that talking to the baby can aid it's brain development so oh has been chatting away to baby tonight lol!

@Amanda good luck for your scan tomorrow! :)

*made me feel so ok about it

AmandaP86x · 30/05/2017 22:54

Oh @Moo31 glad ur appt went well!!! Must be sooo reassuring hearing that heart beating!!!!
❤️❤️❤️

BellaMoon · 31/05/2017 07:11

aw @Moo31 that's lovely. glad all went well and how amazing to listen to the heartbeat for 5 mins. i marvel at this it really does give me goosebumps. and thanks for the weight gain info. this has reassured me as i was worried but going on the fact i lost 6lbs then gained 3 i reckon i'm ok for 1st tri. hopefully!

i had heard about your maternity notes having to go everywhere with you but my initial appt midwife said that my area all notes are now electronic so you don't get the white plastic folder anymore. this didn't reassure me as that day as she said that she couldn't get logged into the system to give me my booking appt!! however she did call me a couple of days later, thank god!

@AmandaP86x ITS WEDNESDAY.... scan day! hip hip hooray. remember to let us see your pic xx

i was flat out in the land of nod for 8pm last night and only just woke up... 11hours sleep. everyone keeps saying "lap it up because that won't last forever" but i can't help thinking i'm missing out on so much. i had about an hours work planned for last night, not to mention perhaps having a conversation with DH but hey ho, it's so difficult to keep my eyes open! hats off to you shift working mums to be!

ArchiesMamaBird · 31/05/2017 07:17

Just popping over here to say Good Luck for today Amanda. Everything will be fine 😊 I'll pop over later to see your update when I know you'll be telling everyone how made up you are to have seen your tiny little baba 💕
