Sorry ladies, just catching up now! Had a busy day at work and I'm shattered.

Hi barking - welcome to the PMA Grads Thread! I'm 15+2 today so roughly the same gestation as you. Hope your symtoms are starting to ease?

In answer to your questions bella

  1. I'm not finding out the gender, I'd like a wee surprise. The planner in me would love to know but I love the idea of a surprise more
  2. we've bought a couple of little things and are now starting to research prams etc. I think we'll wait until the 20 week scan before we buy the biggies but no harm in looking right??
  3. this is baby numero uno for me too! All new and unknown. It's amazing and scary at the same time!

Ps bella enjoy your #sexytime ;)

Moo31 · 22/05/2017 22:09

Oh and whoever mentioned hypnobirthing I am totally interested in that! Anyone heard of Daisy Birthing? They do 6 week courses which have hypno elements. It says you can join from 14 weeks but I think I'd like to wait until later on - maybe join around 30 weeks.

Moo31 · 22/05/2017 22:11

This is it www.thedaisyfoundation.com/daisy-birthing/

Roseandbee · 22/05/2017 22:41

Hi @loababy nice to see you popping in:) hopefully you'll be on here posting your bfp stats soon FX

Im so hoping my boobs get bigger (and then permanently stay that way, I know its unlikely but im gonna use the PMA!), i think they are a bit fuller but no bra swapping needed yet except for the fact i wear like really padded no space for your boobs to move type bras, so will prob get something comfier if my boobs get any more tender.

Moo i mentioned hypnobirthing, my friend did it and it worked for her. I already use hypnosis for relaxation so i'm hoping ill take to it like a duck to water, failing that EPIDURAL! Had a look at the daisy course, looks good, i can get a cheap two day hypno course if i go with one to one midwives, but I think ill need to look into something else to. still early days though i guess.

Has anyone else experienced hot flashes and chills? i'm getting them lots all of a sudden i get super hot or super cold. I did wonder if the chills were maybe to do with a half cold i seem to have

bakingmad83 · 23/05/2017 06:39

Thanks Moo!

Nice to have someone at a similar stage Dolly :) Strangely Dolly I seem more tired now than I did in 1st tri, but think that may be down to DS waking more at night at the mo with teething. Nausea is subsiding, though still certain foods that make me feel sick and can't go food shopping without coming over all queasy. Decided on our pram fairly early on, but didn't get it till almost due as the one we went for was quite bulky, esp with the carrycot part, so just to save space while we could.

It's not quite hypnobirthing, but I did natal hypnotherapy last time using a CD - not quite so full on and you can get away with no doing classes and your partner doesn't need to get involved with the prep either. Can recommend it. Couldn't use gas and air last time, as was already v sick and that made me worse, but managed to cope with pain and stayed calm when they announced I was going to need forceps which I'd been dead against before going into labour.

Rose I had hot flushes at night during the first few weeks at night and felt hotter during the day too, though thankfully not had any probs with that recently - hopefully yours are short-lived too.

I just wanted to jump on here and wish you all the best of luck with your pregnancies.
I did come under fire yesterday for my post and some of the comments made to me were very personal and quite frankly hurt my feelings. That said I also received some very kind words from some of you - for which I am very grateful.
My original post was not intended to personally offend anyone of you grads and like I said yesterday I profusely apologise if it was taken the wrong way. I was simply suggesting two threads which I still believe is a great idea albeit it that I phrased it wrongly.
Anyway thanks for the laughs ladies - it's been a pleasure chatting to you.
I would also like to add that your all welcome back to say hi, even if you don't specifically want to talk to me ... you're still welcome and I'm sure the other ttc'ers would love to hear from you.
The post was not meant to cause a divide.
All the best

Feeling shitty this morning bad nights sleep, was following the Manchester news, it's my hometown. So I didn't get to sleep till late trying to see if the were updates then woke up early and had to check my phone and then obviously couldn't get back to sleep. So sad, was hoping it wouldn't turn out that bad as the earlier stuff I read was quite vague.
Day off today luckily groggy, dizzy and back is killing, suppose to be going to see one2one midwives later, hopefully I'll have some energy by then
Hope everyone is doing ok

BellaMoon · 23/05/2017 12:16

hi @Hippychic18 thanks for that. have totally drawn a line under the matter but appreciate you accepting the wording of the post could have been much better, which was my issue so don't wish to dwell on it any further. all the best to you x

@Roseandbee so sorry to hear of the news in manc and that it's so close to home for you. i did get up this morning and thought of my '3 small things' to focus on my PMA however after switching on the news, wow, there is no where to draw PMA from when such a horrible thing happens so close to home! let us know how your 1-2-1 goes please x

since your posts and comments about hypno whatsits iv been googling like mad cos i have realised how utterly clueless i am about pretty much everything hahahaha. keep the tips and hints coming ladies. #helpbellaout #gonnabeashitemaw

Dollydaydream2829 · 23/05/2017 14:31

What a terrible thing that's happened in Manchester! My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones, or are searching for them. 💔 Makes me scared for my child and what I'm bringing him/her into sometimes. Heartbreaking.

How is everyone today? Has anyone got any baby/pregnancy apps downloaded? I have Ovia and another pregnancy app and it gives you great info and pics of what size your baby is etc. I love them and look forward to the weekly updates!

OP posts:
BellaMoon · 23/05/2017 14:49

i only have ovia @Dollydaydream2829 what other 1 do you have?

i feel the ovia one is very in sync with me given this is what i woke up to! ⬇️ considering my bra discovery last night haha

AmandaP86x · 23/05/2017 15:27

Hi ladies just woke up from my nights feeling shitty!!

@Dollydaydream2829 I use Ovia too- I was kind of apprehensive downloading apps 😭 I'm so scared to do anything however I used the Ovia I check it quickly lol.

@BellaMoon my boobs r tender too. I remember this from last time & I do get sore boobs with AF.

Not as much niggling today. I had some peppermint tea overnight at my work which seems to maybe have helped. I can't wait until next week 😭

And it's terrible about Manchester isn't it. My heart breaks for them it's awful. Scary world we live in.

xxx

Moo31 · 23/05/2017 17:31

The events in Manchester are heartbreaking. I read earlier "we live on a beautiful planet but sometimes it's an ugly world". Too true. My heart goes out to the families.

I use the bounty app - did you all get your bounty mum to be freebie box from boots?! I've also joined the boots and Tesco baby clubs - all from info in the pack I got at my booking app!

Ps bella I think u were asking about the booking app - it's terribly boring - 2 hours of form filling, medical history, blood and urine samples, info about vaccinations, breast feeding and diet in pregnancy. They'll also ask your oh to leave and ask you about domestic violence.

Moo31 · 23/05/2017 17:31

@Amanda glad you're feeling better! Xo

AmandaP86x · 23/05/2017 17:36

Thanks @Moo31 I can't believe it's only been a week since my BFP seriously feels like 10 months!!!!!! Lol

AmandaP86x · 23/05/2017 17:38

Aw and I think I'll look at all that stuff once I'm over the 12 week mark 🙈

Dollydaydream2829 · 23/05/2017 18:19

I've just downloaded the bounty app moo - I'd never heard of it! Thanks!

Have you noticed a bump yet? A few people in work have noticed I've 'popped' - I'd been looking forward to this since I found out but now it's happening, I think to myself '15weeks is too early to have a bump....' which is ridiculous! But I'm petite - 5ft 1 and usually a size 8 so I'm worried I'm just gonna explode!! I'll be the size of a house by 30weeks 😂😂

Roseandbee · 23/05/2017 19:05

Thanks for sharing your birthing experience baking, im def going to learn the techniques! My best friend did it, which is what first got me interested.

I was using ovia conception app so went straight to the prog app but have recently downloaded a few others just so I have something to do everyday.
Must try the bounty app next then Moo

Amanda I see you have also developed the slow mo super power. Today's I actually thought it was weds and thought ooo stuff starting to go quick :-I

I got a leaflet for one2one midwives and they to just said self refer whenever I'm ready, but it all sounded good. Got docs on Fri so I'll what my options are there.

Bella I nipped into primark and got myself a non underwired bra, it was just in sizes S M L so I'm thinking it gives me a bit of room to grow #crossesfingers

bakingmad83 · 23/05/2017 19:31

Evening ladies,

Dolly, nice to hear you have a little bump too. For all I hardly looked pregnant till 7-8 months last time round, I've had a little bump for a few weeks now. I'm a 10, but 5'8", so think DS just had room to grow up rather than out, so thought I'd be similar this time round. However, I've not done any ab exercises since I had him so guess everything is just stretched from 1st time round and nothing to hold #2 in :)

I'm not using any apps, as yet to join the 21st century and get a smartphone! One day!

Made the mistake of going out for a walk in the sunshine without sunglasses on today and ended up with a migraine. Happened a couple of weeks ago too. Seem to be more sensitive at the mo, guess it's pregnancy hormones. At least a couple of paracetamol have taken the edge off it. Hopefully a good night's sleep will do the trick, though DS has been up twice since I put him down, so doesn't bode so well, but maybe little man will prove me wrong and in a few years he won't be so interested in cuddles with his mammy so I should just make the most of it now :)

BellaMoon · 23/05/2017 19:54

love an app me, just downloaded the bounty app too @Moo31 #excited

booking appt feels like forever away but looking forward to getting the ball rolling. will defo go for freebies and wee clubs!

i just found out my works benefits scheme means i get 10% discounts in places like mothercare and boots. belter!!! #nothalfbad

BellaMoon · 23/05/2017 20:04

oh @bakingmad83 i'm also 5'8" but unfortunately iv more chance of my feet being a size 10 than my frame lol. god knows what shape i'm going to be! i reckon somewhere between the fat bastard from austin powers and ursula from little mermaid!

sooooo (TMI) new symptom... CONSTIPATION. wow, just wow! x

AmandaP86x · 23/05/2017 21:51

At night I am bloated beyond anything.

Took midwife advice and had my peppermint tea and some bran flakes today. stomach doesn't feel as bad.

I am at work and I have a girl in whose maybe and ectopic same stage as me and it just pure freaks u out!!!!

I honestly want to be 16 weeks or something the now lol 😭😭😭

Sophsta · 23/05/2017 21:59

I'm 7+4 today and still feeling knackered and constantly hungry... but only for carbs and naughty foods. The idea of vegetables does not go down well! Not nausea but just don't feel right.

Am currently say eating Prosecco Gummies which are a birthday present from my DH, apparently it's the closest I'll get to a drink! He agreed that even thought it isn't my birthday until tomorrow, I'm working really hard at growing a baby so I get them early.

My stats:
Baby #1
Age: 27 (for a few more hours...)
BFP: 02/05
EDD: 05/01

BellaMoon · 23/05/2017 22:32

with being reoccupied with the news and a family birthday i forgot about the list. will sort tomorrow ladies 😘

many happy returns @Sophsta. i was fine
with fruit and veg til about 7wks but then salty carbs took over. now i'm just a bit bleugh with food, don't want anything until it's put down in front of me so if DH doesn't i'll go without! 🎂🥂

aw @AmandaP86x please please try to have belief that you'll be fine. there is nothing indicating anythings going to happen other than you're wee bean growing and developing every day. it must be difficult with your work, so so sad. but stress is the last thing any pregnancy needs xx
