That should be 'lost it and had a paddy'

Ohb0llocks · 25/06/2017 09:50

@Roseandbee he's 27. He's been with his girlfriend practically since the day we split up, if not before. She pretended to dote on DS at first and played nicely but true colours always come out after a while.

@Sophsta hope you're right. Gorgeous scan!

Anna2006 · 25/06/2017 12:18

Yay for the scan pic @sophsta!

I'm 27 and from Norfolk in East Anglia. So breaking up the Scottish/northern tribe lol.

Thanks for tips on the constipation! I've tried the prune juice and think it's sorted out now. Don't think constipation from 8 week would be ideal seeing as I have 32 more weeks to go 🙈

Moo31 · 25/06/2017 16:16

Hi ladies hope everyone is well and having a lovely weekend :)
We've had my cousin and her 16 week old and 2.5 year old staying with us this weekend so it's been a lovely if crazy weekend!

Great scan pic @Soph! :)

I'll get a proper catch up later but definitely breaking the Scottish/northern thing - I'm 31 and in Northern Ireland. Although I live on the East coast so on a good day we can see Scotland and my sister lives near @Bella!

Dollydaydream2829 · 25/06/2017 18:03

Awww sophsta - lovely scan!

I'm 28 and from North East Scotland!

While we're at this, can everyone remind everyone of gestation?? We're all hopefully going to have babies just weeks apart which is amazingly exciting!

I'm 20+1 today! Madness....

Roseandbee · 25/06/2017 18:58

Great pic Soph! Is that 12 weeks? I did actually think u were to busy having a party to repost lol

My scan went well, sonogropher said all looked well and I'm measuring 10+2 which is what I am (I was a week behind on my 6 week scan) saw the baby wriggling which was amazing and just toward the end saw some little feet kicking about quite clearly. DH said it was a bit of a Diva move so he thinks it's a girl. Scan was super short though, less than 5 min, it said it'd be half hr online but I got a good pic.
Are scans usually that quick?

Roseandbee · 25/06/2017 19:27

Dolly after everyone's had the 12 week scans we can maybe do a list of everyone's due dates and have it as first page of the next thread. I was wondering recently wether we'd get any new grads over but the Conception thread seems to have gone quiet

Sophsta · 25/06/2017 20:08

Yes I was measuring at 12 weeks 1 day which makes me 12 + 3 today. My scan was quite long but because baby wasn't playing ball! Had to keep wiggling my hips, jumping up and down and finally doing half a wee!

Roseandbee · 25/06/2017 20:45

Lol Sophsta, I dread being asked to do half a wee, hats off to you!

Dollydaydream2829 · 25/06/2017 20:52

Awww lovely scan too rose - I wouldn't be too worried about the scan being so quick! It's probably a better sign than if they took a very long time! I remember our scan itself being very quick but we did the nuchal test and baby wouldn't cooperate so had to do star jumps until the baby turned, which wasn't pleasant in the height of my worst sickness!! Lol! When she was measuring though, she spent SO long that I began to worry there was something wrong.
Thankfully our risk was deemed low but it just shows that either way, we will worry Haha!

Ohb0llocks · 25/06/2017 21:14

@Sophsta I had to do half a wee at my very early scan, bloody horrible every time she even breathed near me I felt like I was gonna wee!!

bakingmad83 · 25/06/2017 22:16

Lovely scan pics Sophsta and Rose :)

Glad the prune juice did the trick Anna! I've got the opposite prob at the mo, but neither a nice prob to have.

I'm 19+3. Feeling happier as the last couple of days I've felt definite movement, little kicks, just like with DS. Seems like I miss the subtle movements when pregnant, though I tend to think rumblings are my dodgy stomach so probably why!

Ohb0llocks · 26/06/2017 08:00

20 weeks today!

BellaMoon · 26/06/2017 18:15

hey ladies

hope you all had a lovely weekend

iv had such a shitty (literally) weekend. managed to catch DHs gastro bug so spent most of sat and all of sunday within 5ft of the loo 😷🤒

i'm 14+5 today #woohoo #everydayisablessing #eventhepoorlydays

love love love the scan pics @Roseandbee and @Sophsta i loved seeing these even before i was pregnant. it amazes me!

@bakingmad83 NYE (or Hogmanay as we call it) is a great birthday! everyone's always out making plans etc. even New Year's day is fairly good but my god, 2nd jan is the pitts!

where has @AmandaP86x got too? those night shifts must be taking their toll x

i also had to do some wriggling and banging my bum off of the bed when at the 12wk scan! sonographer said at one point you might need to come back another time then all of a sudden baby posed perfectly for measurements etc. thank god cos my bladder was gonna explode!!

so i'm away to rummage in my cupboards to see if i can be bothered to eat 🤢

Anna2006 · 26/06/2017 18:15

Oh wow @Roseandbee! Is that just what stage they do them in your area?

Yep I have officially pooped so no worries there ladies haha.

All of you guys are massively far ahead of me so suspect I'll be the last lady pushing out a baby. We don't seem to have gained any more grads?! I think I was the last one so I'm at the end of the pile. My 13 week scan won't be until August I don't think. I'm praying little one is going to be okay & hope to get a peak next week

Xx

Roseandbee · 26/06/2017 20:45

Thanks Bella:) sorry you've been feeling so rough. Sounds ruddy awful! Like we've not already had our fair share of puking.

Thanks Anna, the scan was private, part of a NIPT test, which is why I was a bit miffed it seemed very rushed, didn't even have the heartbeat measured which I thought was odd and the lady didn't really explain much of what she was doing. Bit of an odd experience really. I've got my NHS scan at 12+5 (12th July) so still some time to wait. Are you getting a private scan next week?

AmandaP86x · 26/06/2017 20:58

Hello ladies!!!!

Sorry I have been MIA as usual on bloody nightshift 😭😭😭!!! Night 2 of 3! Then Iv been put on four nights next week bloody someone must hate me!!!

I'm still a bit sicky hungover feeling 😷 hoping it's starting to pass! 10+3 tomorrow whoop & only ONE week until my scan!!!! Still anxious beyond belief 😭 still keep grabbing my boobs at every chance lol!!!

I am from Glasgow btw! Near @BellaMoon ha ha!

I wish I could sleep until next week lol

Hope ur all well lovely ladies. I defo think we need a list I keep forgetting xx

Moo31 · 27/06/2017 10:26

Right … major catch up coming up! Sorry for being AWOL, I have been reading but a combination of being sick as a dog and entertaining my cousin at the weekend meant I haven’t had time to properly reply. Has anyone phoned their midwife for advice? I don’t want to come across as a drama queen but this sickness being back is pissing me off / making me worried and I discovered yesterday I have lost 5lbs in the last week. I feel like if I phone her I might cry and she will think I am an idiot!

@Amanda - What about Kathryn? I think it’s an Irish spelling probably although Kathleen is also Irish I think! Love Eva too  Hopefully your nausea passes soon – mine went at around 12 weeks (although is now back and worse than ever!).

@Bella – love your name choices  and great getting some practice in with your goddaughter – hope the teething wasn’t an issue but even if it was they are just so cute!! I hope you are feeling better also 
@Ohb – congrats on a little boy! I love your names – I am with your DP on Arthur I really like it! George is lovely too  I hadn’t heard of anterior placenta so I am glad @Baking was able to give you some info on that! It sounds like you shouldn’t be too worried about it. I hope your DS’s dad stays away – it sounds like it’s for the best all round. Hopefully having a new baby to fawn over will keep him away. Your DS sounds like he has a lovely father figure in your DP 

@Anna - glad your constipation has passed. I go from constipated for 2/3 days to the other for 2/3 days but hopefully that’s the end of it for you!

@Soph and @Rose – fab scan pics!!!  Glad everything is well!! Hope you are having a lovely break also @Rose

@Dolly:

  • cheeky bints saying you have a fuller face – how rude! Although from talking to friends who are mummies last night apparently people throwing their tuppence worth in is par for the course when you are a mummy so I guess we better get used to it!
  • It’s crazy we are halfway there isn’t it! My cousin was up with her little girl at the weekend and she was born on the day we got our bfps – so she was 16 weeks on Friday which is just crazy - I am like how have a been pregnant for the whole time you have been on this earth!? In some ways 16 weeks has flown in but in other ways it has dragged!
  • How are you feeling about tomorrow? I am a nervous wreck. Not sleeping, keep snapping at OH (especially when he tells me not to worry, it will all be ok – stop saying that! grr!) I know I am paranoid but I keep thinking things like “I don’t think my bump has grown in the last week”, “I didn’t get up to pee in the night last night”, “I haven’t felt movement in a few days … or have I?”, and the weight loss in the past week as well! Fingers crossed it will all be ok tomorrow! Like I wanted this day to come for the past 8 weeks and now I am kinda like I don’t want it to be here and ignorance is bliss!

@Baking – glad you had a lovely break  hope you had a lovely birthday too!!

Also:

  1. Also been having nightmares about being in burning buildings, falling down stairs, being attached etc – anyone else?!
  2. Has anyone thought about how long they will take off work? I think I am settled on 9 months … just have to tell work now …
  3. I will do the due date list so as people have their 12 week scans if you post your due date I will add it to the list and then when we are setting up our thread 2 I will add it to the top of the thread! Love a wee list!!
Anna2006 · 27/06/2017 11:51

Amanda can't believe only one week until your scan. I'm sure all will be well as you've seen it a few times an you can try relax a bit more.

@roseandbee Ahh I see. So still your your 12 week scan to come. Still nice to see it at different stages. Amazing how much they change. Yes I have scan booked for Friday and I'll be 8+3 but can't decide whether to change it to next week when I'll be more like 9 weeks. As later it seems with HB the better chance you have. I don't know if I'll still worry after Friday as I have to wait until 13 weeks so it's still 5 weeks to go! Eugh decisions decisions

BellaMoon · 27/06/2017 18:04

i'm still having a "shitty" time with my toilet issues ladies... tummy is not right at all. feels like food/drink is in for 20mins then it's right back out again (sorry!). contemplated calling midwife to ask if there's anything i can do but thought i'd leave it another day. still hoping it's a 24/48hr bug -and i'm back to normal tomorrow 🤞🏼 #stoptheskoots

@Anna2006 how is your hayfever, i meant to ask? mine seems to have disappeared (again fingers crossed) hope your days fly by til 12wk scan! i think because we all knew so early on all our 12wk scans felt like they'd never arrive. x

@AmandaP86x those night shifts must take so much out of you! i did them when i was younger but couldn't face them now. roll on your scan too, mind let us see wee bean! x

@Moo31 i had hoped your sickness had eased off. that's sooo rubbish! i would definitely call your midwife for advice/support if you are losing weight and it's affecting your life so much. last thing you need right now and that's what midwives are there for! please call xx

as for dreams/nightmares YES! i keep having 2 recurring. first is horrendous about bleeding and i go to hospital and they call me by my maiden name and my DH by my ex's name - all very weird! the 2nd one relates to me rehoming my wee bella and she escapes and comes a cropper with a bus. muchos tears at that. hope they stop soon and the happy dreams return asap!!

@Roseandbee the 12th july is when we have our gender scan so i'm equally looking forward to that date too. only 14 sleeps #excitedmuch

looking forward to our list in a new thread once we all know our EDD's. omfg ladies how can this actually be happening? it's sooo frigging exciting!

Ohb0llocks · 27/06/2017 18:23

Been having bad cramps on and off since last night.

Also have watery discharge but to be honest I'm not 100% sure it's not wee to be honest.

Called triage they said give it a few hours, if cramps still there then call back.

Sat in bed now. DS is sat with his little table next to my bed having his tea watching puss in boots. All I want to do is play with him Sad

bakingmad83 · 27/06/2017 20:32

Hoping your cramps have eased off ohb0llocks, must be a real worry esp with possible discharge, but glad you've been in touch with triage. Cramping always makes me panic, but usually find it's short lived prior to diarrhoea. Could they be bad braxton hicks? I never had any bh with DS, but was speaking to someone yesterday whose had them frequently since before 20 weeks and any kind of activity brings them on. Sending hugs.

Sorry to hear feeling sick is still a prob Amanda, hopefully pass soon for you.

Sounds like a plan to get in touch with your midwife Moo if you're losing weight. I had some really crazy dreams at the start of pregnancy, but thankfully no nightmares at the mo. I just do a bit of freelance work, so just going to try to keep that up so that DH and I can share parental leave, as although I don't earn much, I earn enough to entitle him to this.

Dollydaydream2829 · 27/06/2017 20:52

Oh I'm SO nervous about tomorrow moo - hopefully everything will be OK but yeah, I'm almost more nervous than what I was at my 12 week scan. What time is it at? Worth mentioning to your midwife tomorrow about the weight loss, although I've heard it's not uncommon in pregnancy- your little baba will be zapping all your calories ! Good luck for tomorrow!

ohb - sorry to hear about your cramping! I've been having that off and on but defo related to constipation and wind pain!

I've been having mental nightmares - always about terrorism? Not something I'm particularly concerned about but obviously something underlying?

Hopefully your stomach settles bella - otherwise better to phone up tomorrow incase??

OP posts:
Ohb0llocks · 27/06/2017 21:58

I have an appointment at the antenatal clinic at 1am

Moo31 · 27/06/2017 22:24

@Ohb I hope your cramping passes soon. Hopefully just excess discharge and nothing to worry about. Glad you've made an appointment so you can get checked over and put your mind at ease.

I called my midwife earlier and I'm going to see her first thing tomorrow - she wants to rule out a UTI and / or high blood pressure. She didn't sound too concerned about the sickness / weight loss so that put my mind at ease a bit!

@Bella sorry to hear you're still having a shitty time 😟 def call the midwife - i sort of regret putting it off and there's a chance you are dehydrated so better to get seen and sorted than suffer on (hypocrite here I know!)

Scan is at 11am @Dolly - what time is yours at? I don't think we'll get much sleep tonight 😕 oh is excited and i feel like I'm putting a damper on his excitement with my worrying!

Glad I'm not the only one with the weird dreams! What the hell is going on in our subconscious minds!?
