Girls were any of you constipated in first trimester or still are? Not sure if I'm constipated as such but can't remember the last time I went to the toilet 😳 And don't have the urge to either. I think it's been days. Help! I know bowel movements can slow down, it never did last time though. It's freaking me out a little as it's like it must want to come out 😂😂 haha sorry girls

Xxx

morning all

@Dollydaydream2829 i'd never heard of mat pay being determined/calculated that way before. that's definitely the right thing to do if you are up for the OT then excellent. i'm salaried and due to managerial role i don't qualify for OT, i can accrue hours but only entitled to take them back. can't complain other than as i'm short staffed just now would feel terrible if i actually took that time back. hope all goes well for your next scan. when's that due? life is just 1 big ball of worry right now isn't it?

@bakingmad83 so nice that you had a lovely time. i love wales! my company's head office is in cardiff so iv been a few times and to other services in the area. absolutely beautiful countryside. i'm well jel of any1 getting a wee break just now. i'm off for a week in 3weeks but by the time that comes around i'll be so bloody knackered (see earlier comment about being short staffed)! when is your scan booked for again?

@Anna2006 around weeks 7-11 i went from being constipated for a few days to then the opposite for a few days. can you take any OJ or eat actual oranges to help things along naturally? they worked a treat for me! it's so unpleasant isn't it? as if you're not feeling bloated/windy enough you now have this to deal with. hope it eases off soon!

@AmandaP86x Eva Kathleen sounds like a winner to me 💗 are you going to do a gender scan?

it's FRI-YAY ladies woo hoo. for me this means work (booo) then baby sitting my gorgeous goddaughter (yaaaaay) to allow her mum & dad the chance to go be adults together for a meal/movie/walk/whatever they want to do. goddaughter is such a bundle of joy, having some issues with teething but we'll manage. then hopefully a weekend of house/garden stuff. what you all up to? xxx

Ohb0llocks · 23/06/2017 08:42

@bakingmad83 so I don't need to be panicking? I've googled that much I got myself lost in weird google!

@AmandaP86x yes!!!! I'm so constipated and then when I need to go Jesus Christ do I need to go!

Anna2006 · 23/06/2017 16:30

Had my midwife appointment today for booking in appointment. Will get my scan date though the post within about a week or so. Different processes different areas but my date will be 13 week one 😡 So annoying we have to wait here. Sigh.

Checked with midwife on the constipation. Said try natural remedies such as prune juice, more water intake an fruit etc. An said if no help there, you can use lactulose from OTC at the chemist an that is perfectly fine in pregnancy as nothing gets absorbed. Just makes the stools softer to pass haha. So heads up girls in case you get in any trouble in that department, lactulose is fine to use!

Roseandbee · 23/06/2017 18:12

Ohb congrats! How exciting it's like a mini birth announcement finding out the gender. I'm glad to say that invisible nub I saw was correct lol
Amanda so glad you've had another good scan, are you 10 weeks tomorrow then?

Ohb0llocks · 23/06/2017 20:49

@AmandaP86x just realised I'd tagged you in a post there about constipation and you haven't even asked!!!!

bakingmad83 · 23/06/2017 21:17

Thanks Bella, sure we'll have a few more hols in Wales - thinking a week in Snowdonia /Anglesey/Pembrokeshire/Brecon Beacons would all be nice. Sounds like you'll be well overdue a break by the time your leave comes round - anything nice planned? My 20 week scan is on 29th June, so not long now :)

Nope, nothing to worry about Ohb0llocks :) Think placenta position is only an issue if it's low down close to your cervix, so whether it's front/back/side it doesn't matter :)

Can understand your frustration having to wait till 13 weeks Anna for your scan. Hopefully the natural remedies will help to get things going!

It's my birthday tomorrow. My parents are minding DS while DH and I go out for lunch and a walk. My yoga class on Sunday has been cancelled, so not sure of the plan for then, but I'm trying to declutter at the mo to make room for some extra bits for #2, even if it's just space for clothes! Hope everyone has some nice plans :)

Roseandbee · 23/06/2017 22:24

Where about a in wales were you baking? I'm in Anglesey, staying in a cottage behind our wedding venue. We go to snowdonia a lot too. Last night tonight, a couple getting married today has just done a firework display, so thanks very much for the send off lol.
Happy birthday for tomorrow! I'm gonna go on a major declutter too

bakingmad83 · 24/06/2017 06:28

Thanks Rose! Lovely view - it's not Chateau Rhianfa is it? We were at a wedding there last May :) We stayed in Llandudno, as have friends along the coast and didn't want to be anywhere remote at the mo in case the weather wasn't good and we just ended up doing things like swimming and soft play. We're hill walkers so used to go to Snowdonia pre-kids. I do like Pembrokeshire coast too, but from Cumbria (and so many other places I guess) it's such a long way and DS isn't great on long car journeys.

Roseandbee · 24/06/2017 12:14

Yeah it is Rhianfa, got married there 3 years ago:) small world!
We go to Llandudno a lot for day trips.
Back home now.
Hope you have a great birthday 🎉

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 13:11

It looks absolutely stunning!

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 13:13

Me and DS have just drifted off after a crappy night sleep (he NEVER naps anymore) and my bloody mother has just let herself in to drop some clothes off, come upstairs and woke him up. Very annoyed.

Also found out that DS's dad's girlfriend is pregnant. Don't know if that makes him more; or less likely to bother with DS now. He's not seen him in 2 years and we've not heard from him in months.

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 13:14

And I've woken up craving a big fat juicy cheeseburger

Roseandbee · 24/06/2017 18:13

Napping here too! Just woke up and feel groggy, nausea seems to be worse today:-/
Got my scan tomorrow eek

Ohb my guess is he wud bother you less now

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 18:23

Naps are the best!

Honestly Rose I hope so. I want to go back into my happy baby bubble.

I'm giving myself the rest of the day to wallow. Will indulge myself in a book later and resolve to not give it any headspace, because it won't change anything.

Dollydaydream2829 · 24/06/2017 18:42

Happy birthday baking - hope you enjoyed your lunch and your walk! Birthdays are a bit different when pregnant aren't they?! Haha!

anna - I'm STILL struggling with constipation now and again, it's a bloody mare. When I have trapped wind and am constipated, I look and feel like I'm about 8months pregnant. I don't have an overly huge bump yet but some days I do because of that! It's a horrible side effect. So far have managed to avoid the dreaded piles though! Hope it resolves for you!

My scan is on Wednesday bella - can't believe how fast it has come round.

ohb - I agree with rose, I think it should take the attention off you for now and he'll focus on that part of his life. It's a bit shit that he's not bothered with DS but sounds like your son is in a good environment with you and your partner without him.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow rose! have you had an early scan as well or will this be your first?

I went to my yoga class this morning, loving it! And then spent the rest of the day tidying up and then developed the mother of all headaches. Was supposed to be heading to a friends tonight but now sat in and feeling sorry for myself! It's all gonna be worth it though!

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 19:10

Thanks guys. Honestly though we don't actually 'know' eachother I feel a proper little connection to this thread. Like we're a little community of pregnant ladies. Which we are I guess.

Would it be weird to ask how old/where abouts we all are? Not so much specifics, just to get a feel.

Would be lovely if some of us were close!

BellaMoon · 24/06/2017 19:54

happy birthday @bakingmad83 hope you've had a lovely day. your plans sound bliss!

@Ohb0llocks i reckon if your ex is likely to leave well alone now. well at least i hope so. you're happy wee bubble should continue!

i'm 36 due to be 37 a fortnight after the baby is due so i'm hoping not to be pregnant for my birthday! only because 2nd jan is a shit birthday and would want to avoid that for baby! everyone is always dying of a hangover (we do new years in a big way in scotland).

i live in a small town in North Lanarkshire in central Scotland about 10 miles outside of Glasgow. where it has been incredibly windy today. iv had the window open slightly, on the sofa with my blanket and little bella snuggling on my lap most of the day. netflix has been my saviour as DH has a gastro bug so he's in quarantine upstairs #smellyboy #candleson this is definitely like a wee community. i'm sure we promised to meet up with our babies at some point next year. we should! xx

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 20:09

Hope you're right @BellaMoon

We were up in East Kilbride for a wedding a few weeks back. My aunt moved up there when I was little.

I'm 25, and I'm in the North West.

bakingmad83 · 24/06/2017 21:25

Certainly a small world Rose! Hope all goes well at your scan tomo :)

Hopefully a book (and cheeseburger?) later you're feeling a bit brighter Ohb0llocks. Shame your DS's dad hasn't been involved much, but agree with others that he's probably more likely to keep away now.

Anna and Dolly I can vouch that prune juice is a good remedy with constipation - needed it after having DS as was too scared to go for days in case I ripped my stitches, all psychological, but at least the poop passed easily when I did go!

hope your DH is better soon Bella. Was glad DS was born on NYE rather than NYD, as although NY isn't such a big thing down here, it'll be nice when he's older to have people up for partying on his birthday :)

Thanks for birthday wishes! Had a lovely cottage pie made with pulled brisket followed by a trio of mini chocolate goodies :) I'm now 34 and live in Cumbria.

Roseandbee · 24/06/2017 21:30

Dolly I had a scan at 6 weeks to rule out ectopic, saw what they called a fetal pole and a heartbeat. DH wasn't at that one. Although he did come to my ovary scan where we saw the egg before it was even fertilised so a two week scan I guess!

I'm 33, and live Cheshire but from Manchester originally. are we just Scotland and northwest?

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 22:45

I actually hope he does leave us alone. My solicitor wrote to him months ago inform him we were no longer willing to offer contact as he refused a contact centre, tried playing nice to get me back on side then threatened to take DS from me and mentally abuse him.

DS is better off without him and I hope he stays away. He tried taking me to mediation which I was told not to attend over a year ago but nothing legal route since then.

Ohb0llocks · 24/06/2017 22:53

I have a thread about the situation in relationships if anyone's interested in the back story

Roseandbee · 25/06/2017 08:52

Ohb I really do think he will stay away if he didn't say anything after the solicitor. Possibly his new gf has had some kind of influence and the fact she's having a baby now means it's even less likely. How old is he?
Glad you had a nice Birthday baking, I'll be 34 in Nov so we're a few months apart. I do think a NYE birthday is actually pretty good timing for a bd

Sophsta · 25/06/2017 09:16

Hello ladies! I wrote a massive post yesterday but then lost or and had a party so didn't write another one. My dh will vouch for the fact that pregnancy hormones are rampant in these parts.

roseandbee that view is stunning! I'm so jealous and in desperate need of a holiday. Only 4 weeks to go!

Ohb I hope he does back off and leave you alone. Fingers crossed this takes his attention elsewhere.

I'm 28 and live in South Yorkshire. Looks like we're quite the Northern/Scottish tribe. Although I'm originally from the Midlands but have lived here for 10 years now.

Glad you had a lovy birthday baking. It was alone a few weeks ago and they are certainly different when you're pregnant!

I had my scan on Friday and it was incredible. Everything looks normal and the little one was wiggling around which was incredibly surreal. Had a slight issue that I was told I could go to the toilet afterwards and then got asked for a urine sample... oops! Enjoy your scan roseandbee it goes so quickly it is so amazing to just watch them hanging out in there.
