Oh @BellaMoon What a nightmare !!! He sounds horrendous. I hate people that say stuff like that it's so narrow minded. Glad u still managed the lasagne 😂👌🏻

Well done @Moo31 iv hardly done a thing all weekend ate crap & slept going to make an effort today to hoover & get some shopping lol 😂

Anna2006 · 11/06/2017 16:57

Hey ladies

Hope you are all doing okay. Good luck for your 12 week scan on Tuesday @Bellamoon bet you can't wait! Loving the Chinese lanterns for the nursery idea. We had that at our wedding all on the ceiling on he marque.

So nice to see everyone's nursery ideas. Can't wait to plan mine but need to hold off until second trimester at least lol.

My hayfever is playing up something rotten An is doing my nut in as can't take anything. Think I'm also just snottier as think that happened last pregnancy.

I'm needing daily naps but other than that I feel fine. Have an appointment Friday to request referall to EPU for an early scan due to what happened last pregnancy. Praying that will refer me. They ought to!

Dolly and Moo can't believe your positives was 14 weeks ago. That's madness. So nice to be getting a little bump now. I can't wait to have a bump. Are any of you using anything to steer clear the bastard stretch marks?

Xxx

Moo31 · 11/06/2017 19:39

@Anna I'm using the palmers cocoa butter stretch mark cream and impressing myself by faithfully applying morning and night! It got good reviews online. Someone (baking?) also mentioned a cien one from Lidl but I had already started on the palmers. My mum was lucky enough not to get any stretch arms so hoping she has passed those genes on!

I met a friend today for coffee and she has an 18 month old and was shocked we haven't bought anything yet - I thought it was normal to wait until after 20 week scan!

Eek @Bella 2 more sleeps!!! 😀

@Amanda did you hoover? I hoovered the upstairs of our house - literally 3 bedrooms, landing and bathroom - and i had terrible tummy pains and could hardly breathe after!! It was quite warm but I didn't think I was overly exerting myself 😕 oh has hoovered the past few weeks and I only did it as he was out and wouldn't have let me had he been home but he arrived home just as I finished and told me off and has now confined me to the sofa and tucked me up in a blanket lol! I think I'll leave it to him for the next 5 months!!!

Moo31 · 11/06/2017 19:40

arms *marks

Ohb0llocks · 11/06/2017 21:18

@Moo31 it's my exes family. DS's 'dad. Partners family are lovely, as is he (when I'm not hormonal and hate him)

20 week scan next week. Can't bloody wait!!

SquintySquirrel · 12/06/2017 05:09

Hi ladies,

I posted in here a week or two ago asking for ttc advice after seeing your ttc thread and it looks like we've done it and conceived - period due today and took a clear blue test - saw a second line so took a cb digital test and it said pregnant 1-2!!!!!!

Argh - can't believe it but I'm staying cautious as so early but now I'm looking for advice on what I need to do now - I'm clueless and don't want to ask anyone irl yet.

Do I need gp appt? I know I should take folic acid but how much and what else?

Shit - I basically need some pregnancy training - all of a sudden I feel so unprepared and clueless!!!

Moo31 · 12/06/2017 06:59

Congrats squirrel! Yes there's folic acid and some other stuff you need - get a pregnancy vitamin that will have everything you need in. Also make a gp appointment, stay calm, eat healthy (until ms kicks in!), get lots of rest and be prepared for time to go SO slowly!!
Congratulations!!! 😀

bakingmad83 · 12/06/2017 07:36

Morning Ladies,

Glad you enjoyed your sponsored walk and party Moo. I don't think there can be many people who buy much before their 20 week scans!

Sorry your hayfever is playing up Anna. Think it can go either way in pregnancy, get better or worse, but frustrating you can't take anything. With my first, midwife said GPs were only happy for you to take hayfever meds if it was so bad that you couldn't get on with your day. Hope you get referral for early scan. I used a bio oil cream from Home Bargains last time and didn't get a single stretch mark, but think that was down to a small bump - I'm tall so baby had plenty room to grow upwards rather than out!

Congrats Squirrel! You need 400 micrograms of folic acid daily unless you are at higher risk of neural tube defects (like family history, high BMI or taking certain meds). If you don't take a pregnancy vitamin, the only other supplement you need is vitamin D (10 microgram dose). I'd check with your GP surgery what protocol is - here you don't see GP, you book directly with midwife for appointment around 8 weeks - but everywhere is different.

Yoga class was relaxing, did various stretching and breathing exercises, think I will book a block, but can't justify doing it all the way to birth based on price. I'll just have to be strict with myself and make sure I carry on at home afterwards! Yesterday afternoon was a bit hectic though. Made 3 cakes for coffee morning today then had to pick up 3 lots of cupcakes donated by local businesses. DS also decided he didn't want to settle till gone 9, so was flying round the house once he was eventually settled trying to pack up the extra bits I need for today. Got the slow cooker on with a tagine, so at least once I'm cleared away after the coffee morning I don't need to worry about food for later!

SquintySquirrel · 12/06/2017 07:39

Thanks Moo - I'll head to chemist for a pregnancy vitamin and book in with GP. I've seen pregnacare vitamins in the chemist before - I assume there's no recommended brand or anything and they'll all do same job?

Can't believe it.

SquintySquirrel · 12/06/2017 07:43

Also thanks baking - none of those risk factors apply for me so the standard folic acid dose should be ok. I take a lot of supplements routinely but I'm stopping all of those and will only take the pregnancy vitamins now as I don't know if my other ones are safe (although already checked and there's no vitamin a which is bad for pregnancy I think)

First pregnancy at 33 so I had just assumed it would take a few months at least 😳

Ohb0llocks · 12/06/2017 14:56

@SquintySquirrel congratulations!

SquintySquirrel · 12/06/2017 15:16

Thanks @Ohb0llocks!

Wishing everyone a healthy 9 months!

BellaMoon · 12/06/2017 18:13

congratulations @SquintySquirrel made up for you! did you only recently start TTC? i can't remember (baby brain haha) echo what everyone else said regarding vitamins. defo only focus on the pregnancy related 1s as if you take others in conjunction you could flood your system. well that's what i was told anyway.

you're so busy @bakingmad83 hats off to you! do you ever get a down day? i feel hard done too and exhausted just getting ready for work these days!

@Moo31 i'm giggling at you hoovering and your DHs response. i started off like that with DH essentially wrapping me in cotton while but it's been 8 weeks since BFP and i think he's cottoned on to the fact that i am able to do more than iv been letting on. your hoovering is definitely too much for 1 go so i'd say lap up his help!

scan day tomorrow eeeeeeekkkk! i am so excited but apprehensive at the same time. i cannot help but think ill go and they say "you're not pregnant. you're a lunatic" kinda thing. infact that's been a nightmare of mine. keep thinking it's all just "playing houses" like when we were kids! haha

so can anyone identify this feeling iv had all weekend, can't shake it at all! started off heart was racing (heart rate was about 100 compared to 70ish) and i was agitated but also felt like i was watching myself kinda like out of body observing myself sitting on the bed. i don't think i'm describing it very well but it was all very bizarre. i still feel kinda bizarre like light headed/head in the clouds kinda? anyway if you can work any of that out please let me know haha !

i probs won't buy anything til after 20wk scan. well nothing big anyway. @Moo31 i'd say that's pretty average. will probably only be wee bits and bobs til then.

@Ohb0llocks remind me are you finding out gender at your 20wks scan? i'm so excited for you. mind let us see a wee pic xxx

Ohb0llocks · 12/06/2017 18:18

@BellaMoon yes I am! I'm so excited 10 days. My gut feeling is girl and DS is absolutely adamant that it's going to be a girl too.

BellaMoon · 12/06/2017 18:20

@Anna2006 i hear ya on the hayfever thing! how utterly miserable does it make you feel? my GP was v v unhelpful and told me that i could continue to take my prescribed meds but i googled it and it said no. also then spoke to midwife and she said hell no! unless the allergic reaction symptoms outways potential risk it's basically don't do it. give natural local honey a go, it kinda helps (maybe placebo effect). i bought some natural stuff will add a pic cos they did help but not as much as my usually prescribed meds xx

PMA Grads Thread :-)
Anna2006 · 12/06/2017 21:08

Thanks @Bellamoon. I'll deff stay away from the normal meds. It's just driving me potty this constant got a cold feeling. An it's so itchy!!

Where did you get your natural products from? A shop or online?

Xx

bakingmad83 · 12/06/2017 21:15

Evening ladies, hope you've all had a good day. The coffee morning went well, managed to raise £220, so all the rushing about was worth it :) I'm sure I only seem busy Bella - remember I don't work, though don't get that much downtime with a toddler to run around after all day, but at least he keeps me on my toes :)

Exciting that it's your 12 week scan tomo, but think everyone feels a little anxious beforehand. Still a couple of weeks till my 20 week scan. Must say feeling bit apprehensive about that, as 17+4 and not felt any definite movement yet - felt it at 19 weeks with DS and know it's usually earlier with 2nd, but things like where the placenta is, position of baby etc can affect that, so trying not to overthink it. Trying, ha!

BellaMoon · 12/06/2017 21:34

all from boots @Anna2006 i ordered them online for delivery to store just to make sure they had them tho cos i don't think all stores stock them. good luck xx

BellaMoon · 12/06/2017 21:36

@bakingmad83 aw well done on the fund raising. bet your cakes were delish! do you send by post? hehe

i guess the worry never ends ladies, constant cycle now til our babies are what age?? haha xx

Moo31 · 12/06/2017 22:30

Just a quick message to say hope your scan goes well tomorrow @Bella - I cannot believe it's time for your 12 week scan already! :D

I will do a full catch up tomorrow / reply to everyone! xo

Dollydaydream2829 · 13/06/2017 05:55

Congrats squirrel on your BFP! Welcome to the thread. Is this your first pregnancy?

Bella - I don't think I've ever had that feeling before, doesn't sound too pleasant though! Couldn't be anxiety related could it?? Good luck with your scan today- it'll be amazing seeing how much your little one has grown already!

Can't believe your scan is a week away ohb - so close!! Exciting that you're finding out the gender!

anna I don't envy you with the hyfever thing! Must be a nightmare at the best of times, never mind in early pregnancy! Hope you manage to find something that helps.

Baking I've not felt any movement yet either and I'm 18+4 now. Although it's my first and not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I thought I felt something in bed last week but never felt it again so most likely wind 😂😂 Can't wait til I can feel the little monkey properly! When is your scan date?

OP posts:
BellaMoon · 13/06/2017 06:27

thanks @Moo31 and @Dollydaydream2829 looking forward to the scan now. anxiety seems to be easing off. what good did it do anybody? hehe

yeah @Dollydaydream2829 it could be anxiety i suppose. not normally the anxious type but then never been 12wks pregnant before hehe.

that was probably the worst description ever @bakingmad83 such a strange sensation but feeling much better now thanks

wide awake club on a day i could be having a lie in... so gassy this morn. opted for a bowl of fruit rather than cereal or toast this morn. maybe that's what the strange feeling was, indigestion!!!! that kinda makes sense haha. xxx

bakingmad83 · 13/06/2017 06:51

Thanks Bella, there were lots of cakes left over though, as some people only wanted a cuppa - don't know how they resisted the cakes!

Dolly, people describe first movements feeling like flutters/bubbles/popping/rolling. With DS though I never felt these, only definite kicks from 19 weeks, which is why I'm a little surprised, but guess every pregnancy different. My scan is on 29th, so still a little wait. Not going to wish the time away though, as got a 5 day break to North Wales coming up at the end of the week :)

BellaMoon · 13/06/2017 15:11

what a difference 4 weeks makes!!!

all my anxieties (well for today anyway) have gone. great feedback from sonographer so i'm a happy bunny today.

i'm now 12+6 (thought i was 12+1) so EDD 20/12/17
