yeah i'm with NHS Lanarkshire @AmandaP86x during my booking appt last friday the midwife requested the scan. apparently i get word through the post!

i was surprised to know that i don't get any notes to carry about with me. it's all electronic now. i can access my notes through an app too! all i have to hand is an appt card that i write down every time i see someone.

BellaMoon · 06/06/2017 10:14

ps @AmandaP86x french toast. OMG! yum

Dollydaydream2829 · 06/06/2017 11:01

Hi ladies,

I'm also in Scotland and at my 8 week booking in appt, my midwife booked it and told me there & then. Just shows you how different the trusts work! Hopefully you get a date soon bella

I hope you stop worrying so much soon amanda - I was given the stats that if you see a heartbeat at 9 weeks gestation that your risk of a MMC greatly reduces. It might be worthwhile to abuse your privileges and ask for a scan at 9 weeks, just to rest your anxiety a little bit??

I've not bought anything really yet anna - I've been buying a couple packs of wipes and nappies with every weekly shop so that I can stockpile rather than have to splurge last minute but other than that, no big things til after the 12 week scan. How are you keeping??

Moo - I actually still sleep on my front sometimes. I've never had a big chest so I've ALWAYS slept on my front and am really struggling to sleep on my left side all the time so sometimes I just sleep on my front. Still find it fairly comfy so figure I'll keep doing it while I can get away with it 🙈🙈

I've had THEE worst constipation the last two days (sorry TMI), to the point where I was almost crying with the trapped wind. Doesn't bode well for labour does it?! Lol! I also weighed myself for the first time since 12 weeks and I've put on 6lbs!! I better bloody slow down with that! Anyone else piling on the weight?! Or am I gonna be the only whale of the group?? Lol! I'm only 18weeks....

@Dolly I've now put on 5lbs! After worrying about not gaining weight a few weeks ago lol!! But they say 1lb per week from 2nd tri onwards is what to aim for so we are on track! 😀 hope your constipation has gone!

@bella - you're not missing out not having the notes I'm very disorganised/ forgetful so I know I'll prob forget them at some stage and get told off!! I also strayed into the post partum bit ... that shit is scary! Not that i understood it all but i shouldn't have read what they are going to check down there after birth!! 😕

Moo31 · 06/06/2017 12:26

Also @bella hope your wee left bum cheek eases soon!

BellaMoon · 06/06/2017 12:39

and as if by magic, my appt is through! next tuesday therefore 12+1 at time of scan. yay woo hoo #overthefuckingmoon #celebrateeverymilestone

sorry to here about your constipation issue @Dollydaydream2829 that's rotten. i'm still going from that issue to the other every few days! i'm blaming my diet as it's terrible just now. nibbling on things rather than eating anything slightly nutritional! although i did have half an apple yesterday!

hahaha @Moo31 the less i know about post partum at the moment the better. i'm no good thinking about my lady bits afterwards. it makes my flower all tingly (not in a fizzy front bum kinda way!)

talking of fizzy front bums... when does the horny stage kick in ladies? i couldn't be less interested in sexy time right now. feeling sorry for DH as all his advances are met with "later babes"! #todgerdodger

BellaMoon · 06/06/2017 12:46

*hear... the shame of a spelling mistake! hate that

BellaMoon · 06/06/2017 12:49

@Moo31 thanks for the bum cheek well wishes. i hope none of you ever experience it. it's only happened once today and i let you a yelp "ah ya wee c*^t" which isn't my usual language i promise so this shows how bloody sore it is. feel like a fraud complaining about it as it's over with so quickly but it sure does take your breath away lol

AmandaP86x · 06/06/2017 13:52

Aww really @BellaMoon we r so close I am greater Glasgow & Clyde. I phoned and she gave me all appts on phone and I got my letters through today. My midwife appt is at my health centre which is annoying cause I am working that day so iv emailed to see if I can change to the hospital - makes sense lol.

@Dollydaydream2829 hellooo I know I totally could - infact one of the girls yesterday got some 4D scans on the ward she's like 27 weeks they where bloody amazing and obviously free lol! I only gave 3 and a half weeks until 12 week scan so I might just try and hold out 😭😭

BellaMoon · 06/06/2017 17:18

we are practically neighbours @AmandaP86x ! my appt is at wishaw general next week and that's where i'll deliver too x

BellaMoon · 06/06/2017 17:21

Moo31 · 06/06/2017 20:15

Ah wrote a huge status but wasn't properly connected to hotel Wi-Fi (work not pleasure!) so it disappeared grrr!!

@bella yay for getting your app!! I'm still dodging the todge 😕 and also still flitting between constipation and the other (so i think it's pg related rather than diet related - sorry!) Your fruit / veg aversion will disappear after week 12 - promise 😉

Oh sent me this today ... lol

Ps that insta video is amazing!!! 😃

Evening all,

Unfortunately the link doesn't work for me. Remember seeing body suits and sleep suits with all sorts of slogans on last time round :)

Thinking I should step on the scales as a while since I weighed myself. I hadn't put anything on a couple of weeks ago, but been having sweet cravings (making me think it's a girl now!) and been giving into them, so probs have started to put on now. Always think as long as things still fit, I'm not putting on majorly, but best to keep track :)

Sorry you're having probs with constipation Dolly, not had that to deal with yet, but probs shouldn't speak too soon.

Bella, for me started wanting sex again around 14/15 weeks, but probs DH being away a week helped in that department too!

Had a minor mishap in the kitchen earlier. Managed to trip over DS's "tractor" - an upturned kitchen chair - but luckily landed on my knees and knocked the chair leg with my hip rather than my bump. Going to have a nice bruise on my knees in the morning! Think it's a warning I need to be a bit stricter about clearing away his things, though recently he's started having meltdowns when I suggest tidy time, so been a bit lax with keeping the floor clutter free.

Moo31 · 06/06/2017 22:22

Oh no baking glad you're ok! Take it easy!

BellaMoon · 07/06/2017 06:47

aw @Moo31 love that babygrow, so accurate too 😂

@bakingmad83 oh please please be careful. hope the bruise is a wee reminder that you are carrying special cargo and must handle yourself with care. must be difficult with a little 1 who is full of personality (and huffs and puffs) when it's tidy up time hehe.

sorry the link didn't work for you. it was a wee video of a pregnant belly and the dad held next to it the fruit that represented the size of the foetus week by week. thought it was super cute!

i have 13 interviews today! i always arrange more than 10 for a day as there's always about a third that don't show up HOWEVER, did the same on monday and only 1 person didn't show up. i'm in for a long long day of hearing my own voice. not to mention hearing "i love reading, the cinema and travelling in my spare time" over and over again! wish people would dare to stand out a little. anyway, if i get really bored my colleague and i will play the word game, where we try to get a rather unusual word into our interview. always fun trying to keep a straight face when the word is "cabbage" or something equally weird! my day might end up being fun after all 😂

bakingmad83 · 07/06/2017 07:13

Thanks Moo and Bella, will have to watch myself.

Sounds a full on day Bella! Can imagine it must get v boring if what the candidates say isn't particularly original, but that word game sounds fun :)

So, weighed myself this morning. 3 pounds down on pre-preg weight, but not particularly worried, as didn't get over my usual weight till well after 20 weeks last time and DS was just short of 8lb, so slow and low weight gain didn't do him any harm. I'm eating well, but I am just one of those people whose weight is pretty stable unless I completely pig out regularly and don't exercise - found this out when I had a stressful job in my early 20s.

AmandaP86x · 07/06/2017 17:29

Iv just ate 10 mini sugar donuts from Greggs 😭😭😭 TEN!!!!

Sophsta · 07/06/2017 17:34

Ha ha amanda! We've all been there! I just had pickled onion monster munch and they were amazing.

Also had my 12 week scan date through! Friday 23rd June when I should be exactly 12 weeks. Very excited!

Moo31 · 07/06/2017 18:39

Ah @Soph that's great! Fingers crossed the next 2 weeks go quickly for you!

Mmm donuts ... @Amanda they are probably only equivalent to 1 full sized one anyway!!

AmandaP86x · 08/06/2017 00:09

They are so good I just can't stop eating them when I start lol!!!! My diet has been shocking !!!!

DP away to vegas tomorrow for a week 😭

I am 8+2 today according to my dates. Have midwife appt on Tuesday.

Anxious +++++ getting to the 8-9 week mark.

I am very bloated (prob the donuts lol) still have sore boobs too. Feeling nauseated now and again.

What's everyone's plans this weekend? I am going to see Robbie on Friday xxx

BellaMoon · 08/06/2017 06:53

morning all

@AmandaP86x after a very busy week i have nothing planned for this weekend! and i cannot bloody wait. might go shopping, might go see family or might do absolutely nothing. YIPEEEEE. hope you have a great time at Robbie 😉

also well done on the donuts! YUM

oh @Sophsta doesn't it feel like time stands still waiting on all these appts? hope it comes around quickly for you chic

@bakingmad83 how many weeks are you now? you sound like a thoroughbred hehe. i bet you snap back into pre preg weight within hours or giving birth! sell your secret please hehe

last day of interviews today THANK FOOK! met a fantastic candidate yesterday so that made up for the monotony of this week for sure!

i think my appetite might be slowly returning! i managed a banana apple and some strawberries yesterday for breakfast. i was so excited to finally eat something fresh and tasty. BUT i then became obsessed with salt and vinegar square crisps and had to have a packet. tried to resist all day but scoffed them en route home and when they were finished i felt so full i couldn't have dinner. how weird is this food thing during first tri?

bakingmad83 · 08/06/2017 07:14

Morning,

Sophsta, good to hear you've got your 12 week scan date through :)

Amanda, enjoy Robbie! I'm meeting a couple of friends for lunch on Saturday then trying out an antenatal yoga class on Sunday morning. Got some baking to do in the afternoon as organising a charity event on the Monday.

Bella, glad you've found a good candidate and your appetite is returning. I'm 17 weeks now. Last time I was below normal weight straight away, but apart from eating sensibly and walking for an hour plus a day there's nothing else I did/do. Think perhaps I'm just very lucky re weight gain in general, though would like to gain more this pregnancy, as with breastfeeding lost a fair bit of weight and felt drained, which is probs going to feel worse with a toddler.

Ohb0llocks · 08/06/2017 09:39

Morning guys!

Hope all are well. Exactly 2 weeks until the 20 week scan (will be 19+4)!

I've mentioned before about my DS's dad, abusive, narcissist asshole for those who don't know. I am seeing his mother today; and I'm looking quite obviously pregnant. I've been trying to prevent him from finding out as I'm worried it may spur him to get back in touch, but at the same time I can't hide it forever and why the F should I?

Any advice?
