My first mw appt I said I had to go into town to sign some paperwork. 1st hospital appt I was actually off sick anyway. But the other girls have often used the excuse that there partner is going away so wanted to spend the day together

mrsjkerry · 22/04/2017 13:25

Hey everyone. How're you all doing?

I am having such a bad time. Feel sick 24/7; only eases if I drink Coke and eat bread. Really salty food like McDonald's chips hep too. I've gained so much weight it's ridiculous. Nothing fits and I'm having a hard time accepting that. I've had 3 meltdowns in 24 hours. Like serious crying for hours and refusing to get up/leave the house/do anything. And every time I think that I'm only going to continue growing I meltdown all over again.

I feel so guilty, because I know I should be grateful and excited, and I know there are some women who want this more than anything in the world, but I just keep thinking this is too hard and I don't want to do it for another 6 months! Maybe it's just hormones, and when I see the little baby at the scan next week it'll get easier and feel worth it. Currently I just feel so shit!

Anyone else have moments like this or am I being unreasonable and ridiculous?

@MistyBxx love the ring. Still following the other board- so glad you are feeling better now xxx

Love your ring @Misty and glad to hear you are doing well! :)

@MrsJ sounds like you are having a rough time, hopefully it's just hormones and will pass soon but would it be worth a visit to your midwife to talk over how you are feeling? I've had my worst sickness / nausea this week and oh did some research which said that week 11 is the absolute worst for some women (I think you are week 11 same as me). I am desperately trying to eat healthily but same as you only carbs and "bad stuff" seems to help but only for a little while and then I need to eat again. Once this all passes you can get back on track and your weight gain will even out. You are growing a new human being so give yourself a break, do what you need to do to get through to 2nd trimester, take it easy and be kind to yourself xo

Moo31 · 22/04/2017 16:55

I have said to oh soooo many times this week "this is rough ... so much rougher than I imagined ... you have no idea how this feels ... " etc etc. Bless him he's being very patient and helpful. I do feel guilty about complaining as it's what we want but at the same time it isn't easy so if we didn't complain there would be something abnormal about us!

mrsjkerry · 22/04/2017 19:34

@Moo31 I don't know how to talk to my midwife or if I even have one. I've only been to hospital twice and each time seen someone different. Thanks for your advice I am 11w1d 😞 thought I'd be feeling better by now!

My husband has had to deal with my crying my eyes out soooo much. He's being patient but tries to just say come on let's get on with things. Feeling bit better emotionally now, just had a minor outburst. Just wish this damn sickness would go away!!

mrsjkerry · 22/04/2017 19:35

Oh! I also bought a Doppler. It's coming tomorrow 😬

OP posts:
sophr2017 · 22/04/2017 19:45

MrsJ I've spent the whole day crying in bed about pretty much nothing so I wouldn't feel too bad!!

Sorry to hear the sickness is so awful, as pp said week 11 is unfortunately supposed to be the worse, but on the plus side that means you're almost on the other side of it! Is it worth going back to the hospital for treatment for HG again if you feel awful? Really hope it gets better for you soon x

sophr2017 · 22/04/2017 19:45

Ps Love that ring Misty! So glad to hear you're doing much better x

Squigglefish · 22/04/2017 21:37

MrsJKerry if your sickness goes it's bound to help your mood. Hopefully you'll get relief pretty soon Smile

mrsjkerry · 22/04/2017 22:53

@sophr2017 I'm not actually vomiting anymore so there's no need to go back to the hospital. I just feel sick 24/7!

Honestly, sometimes I wish I would start uncontrollably vomiting so that they can hook me up to a nice IV anti sickness drip and fluid! Least that way I'd feel better for a few hours...terrible thing to say I know 😬😄

OP posts:
Moo31 · 22/04/2017 23:01

@Mrsj did you get prescribed any of the anti sickness tabs? I wish I had asked for them!

pennysays · 23/04/2017 00:12

Tbh I never knew you "weren't supposed" to use a Doppler. I only used mine until I could feel him kick and haven't used it since. As he wont.. Stop... Kicking! So I know everything is ok!

mrsjkerry · 23/04/2017 07:30

@pennysays why aren't you supposed to?

@Moo31 yes I did. I take them when I think a hyperemesis episode is coming on and so far they've worked as I haven't been back to hospital. I don't take them just when I'm feeling really sick because A) I feel incredibly guilty and worry about taking them/harming baby and B) they knock me right out!

Personally I wouldn't want to get a listener because of the panic it'll cause when things don't sound "normal", not that any of us are medical professionals that truly know what we are listening for.

I was extremely lucky and got to hear mine at 12wks because of how I'll I was my GP wanted to check as my coughing had pulled my stomach muscles so much. But even he admitted he was surprised he managed to find both twins

MrsB12345 · 23/04/2017 08:31

Morning ladies. I've got my 12 week scan on Thursday and the pregnancy anxiety has well and truly kicked in Confused

What if there's nothing there?
What if I've had a silent miscarriage?

Tell me I'm not the only worrier and I've got nothing to worry about?

I have no reason to think anything has happened but still can't help but worry ConfusedSad

Bubbasmama2017 · 23/04/2017 08:46

@Mrsb12345 I fel exactly the same and my friends and family are just excited and keep telling me not to think like that. I wish I hadn't heard of silent miscarriage I don't think it's actually very common. It's so hard though isn't it? Have you had any other private early scans?

Moo31 · 23/04/2017 09:25

@MrsB I feel exactly the same! What if baby has stopped growing? What if heart has stopped beating? Oh says the fact that I'm still nauseous / thirsty / peeing alot is a good sign but what if my body is tricking me with these signs or it hasn't realised something has gone wrong and it's still carrying on as normal? I had a 7 week scan and baby was just a bean, it reassured me at the time but it's a distant memory now nearly 5 weeks later!

MrsB12345 · 23/04/2017 09:31

@Bubbasmama2017 @Moo31 I've not had an early scan previously so this will be the first time we will have seen baby

My hubby is the same and said I wouldn't continue to have symptoms for so long if something was wrong but I still can't help but worry. I just hope that next few days goes quickly. Luckily our scan is at 9am Thursday so won't have to wait long once at the hospital

Thanks ladies xx

MrsNemAz · 23/04/2017 17:09

I have my 12week scan tomorrow at 4pm!! I will be 12+1.
I'm also very nervous. I had my midwife app last week and I asked her if I was really pregnant? It's so surreal! I have done two tests both positive plus all the symptoms but still! She said it will become real after my scan. After this a checked some 12week scan YouTube videos and that's when I heard about the silent miscarriage.. Someone's baby was so small and didn't have heartbeat. Just freaking out.
Strange how worried I am, considering that I still cannot comprehend that I'm actually pregnant Hmm

LeafyUmbreon · 23/04/2017 17:13

Hey everyone.
5w+3 here, have my first GP appointment tomorrow, absolutely terrified of everything right now, I've told my MIL, two close friends to both myself and my husband (they're a couple) and I plan on telling my Dad tonight.

Is it normal to feel anxious about letting people (family/close people) know? I'm super excited about the entire thing but I'm making myself figuratively sick with worry about complications :(

ew1990 · 23/04/2017 17:17

Girls my skin is terrible lately I have so many spots and they are sore, this is just one cheek and my chin x

ew1990 · 23/04/2017 17:19

@MrsNemAz I've seen baby twice with early scans and it still doesn't feel real, 11+3 now and started getting a little bump, got my official scan when I'm 13 weeks x

lydiangel83 · 23/04/2017 17:27

I'm wishing we had had an early scan booked in before going away for two weeks and having 12 wk scan 2 days after we get back (will be 11+6). Would have been nice for peace of mind but for now will just have to get on with it and hope for the best.

Yes also very worried/ anxious but got to keep positive and don't think it'll feel real until scan!

MrsB12345 · 23/04/2017 18:44

@LeafyUmbreon welcome to the group. It's a hormonal rollercoaster and everything you're feeling is normal. I can't promise it gets better or say it gets worse as were all different but I've got over my anxiety over the past 8 weeks (since finding out) by trying to be reassured that I've not had bleeding or pain. Some of the girls on here have had early scans privately to give more assurance so might be worth considering x

Squigglefish · 23/04/2017 20:43

@MrsNemAz me too, mine is at 8.30. I'll also be 12w1d tomorrow. I'm really nervous too, especially about the screening tests. Also 8.30 is my peak sickness time...going to take an anti sickness tablet because I need to keep the water down.
@ew1990 I'm getting them in the same place, they're even on my chest! Really awful but hoping they'll heal after this 1st trimester.
