I don't know what to do.
I'm being a really careful eater while I'm on holiday - toast for breakfast etc. I just don't trust Spanish food. DH now kicking off because I don't feel like eating and when i do I eat snacks and English ready meals. I've had the ready meals twice. I've been out and tried food at places but don't like it. I now think ive got the morning sickness coming. DH keeps saying I'm over reacting because I won't eat runny eggs etc!

What can i do??

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 24/05/2017 08:49

I'm eating what I can.

I've got a bit of morning sickness and occasionally dizziness. I'm eating what I can and I get full up

MSH2010 · 24/05/2017 08:55

Wow worse night sleep ever Sad
Stomach muscles and ligaments are taking a right battering at the moment. Bump certainly isn't missable now. But I'm 20 +4 with two in there so it's no surprise.
Had extra bloods taken yesterday due to dizzy spells. Sounds like lie iron but gotta wait for the results

Brens13 · 24/05/2017 09:45

Victoriaaaaaa Try not to worry too much, which I know is easy to say. Do what you think is right for you and it probably will be. We're all in the same boat as first timers here and muddling through all the anxieties. I, for instance am currently 9+3 and have been pretty symptom free which worries me as much as the people having horrible cramps and sick 24 hrs a day.
Are you on a thread for people due the same month as you? There should be one about. Only as there will probably be people on there who are on there second or higher babies and might be able to reassure you with experience more than us fellow first timers can.

lydiangel83 · 24/05/2017 09:48

@MSH2010 I feel for you, I also am not sleeping well but only have a small bump (17 wks today!) and only one bubba. Here's to hot chocolate and getting through the day :) xx

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 24/05/2017 09:53

@brens13 no I'm not as I haven't had my first midwifes appointment yet so not 100% sure when my due date will be.

I've just started the morning sickness so i don't really have an appetite at the moment and just keep plodding on.

Victoriaaaa

I really wouldn't worry about spanish food. What do Spanish people eat when they're pregnant?!

If it's morning sickness that's fair enough as I didn't want to eat for the first 12 weeks and just tell your partner that! Mine luckily was really understanding when he cooked a meal and I rejected it after three mouthfuls!

I'm sure benidorm has plenty of British food....!!!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 24/05/2017 10:44

It's morning sickness I'm just tired and emotional all the time but he just doesn't get it!

ew1990 · 24/05/2017 13:52

@Victoriaaaaaaaa when your mum was pregnant I bet she ate whatever she wanted, I don't worry about what I eat, just follow the NHS guidelines, I know it's easy to worry as we was all like that in the beginning, just try and relax and enjoy your pregnancy xxx

TheLionQueen1 · 24/05/2017 15:45

Victoria, I've just done a week in Cyprus and the only thing I avoided was some pinkish meat, there is no need to avoid salad etc, plus it's Benidorm, there's no known risk there at all? I really think you should speak to a MW/doctor before your appointment if your anxiety levels are this high? The best thing you can do for you and baby is to try as relax, and as a PP suggested maybe try and find a support group with parents who aren't first time parents, as sadly we just don't know and all we can do it google, and we all know googling can be your own worst enemy!

It took my DH a while to adapt as well; bear it mind he is also trying to come to terms with it and they don't have a clue what we are feeling at which stage. Maybe suggest an app or something he can read?

TheLionQueen1 · 24/05/2017 15:47

Hope you're feeling a bit better now MSH, I really feel for you with two of them!!

ew1990 · 24/05/2017 17:15

How's everyone else bump coming along? I had to change my top today as the one I had on wouldn't cover my belly 😂 and my little sister said today I'm getting soooo fat, when I said that's not nice she said: I meant your belly!

ew1990 · 24/05/2017 17:19

Ignore the walls we are in the middle of plastering 😂

lydiangel83 · 24/05/2017 17:52

Wow @ew1990 that's a nice neat bump :)

ew1990 · 24/05/2017 18:02

I know I do like it, I'm 16 weeks on Saturday, it went flat at about 11-12 weeks coz bloating went then popped back up again lol xx

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 24/05/2017 18:08

@TheLionQueen1 I'm really not that fussed about what I can and can't eat now. I realised how silly I was being - the morning sickness has come in at full pelt now (knew I was doing too well haha) and the only thing I can stomach the thought of is crackers! I won this holiday so can't really complain lol

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 24/05/2017 18:09

At the end of the day - what will be will be :)

Icantthinkofastupidname · 24/05/2017 18:18

New to this thread!

Just found out this week I'm pregnant after trying since the new year. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow according to my calculations but haven't had first appointment yet.

No major symptoms, although they seem to be getting stronger each day. Mostly bloating and windy occasional cramps. Today I'm really hungry and start to feel queasy the hungrier I get. I don't seem to have gone off anything yet or have any cravings. Just any food will do!

lydiangel83 · 24/05/2017 18:36

@Icantthinkofastupidname welcome and good name! I was the same, had to eat all day long (mostly plain, cheesy carbs) to avoid feeling queasy. Just do whatever makes you feel better :-)

ew1990 · 24/05/2017 19:20

@Icantthinkofastupidname I've just read the other thread the started, about the caffeinated drinks, I've gone from about ten cups off coffee pre pregnancy to 3-4 cups of tea, xxx

TheLionQueen1 · 24/05/2017 19:24

Aww Ew, that bump if perfect baby bump! I think we're going to end up with some big bumps here ladies!!

Icantthinkofastupidname · 24/05/2017 20:06

Has anyone seen any reasonably priced drinks/water bottles with hours on, similar to the picture?

I'm really struggling with drinking plenty of water and could use something like this for motivation/to keep track but don't want to pay a fortune!

TheLionQueen1 · 24/05/2017 20:28

I could totally do with one of those!! I'm a nightmare for drinking water; also I'm in my car all day so it not too easy to stop for wees 😂 I need a she wee!!

ew1990 · 24/05/2017 21:14

@Icantthinkofastupidname have you tried somewhere like home bargains or b&m, presuming you have them in your area, or eBay maybe? Xx

Monkeypuzzle32 · 25/05/2017 07:10

stupidname they had a good selection in Primark yesterday.

Anyway, I have news! I had my private clinic scan (still no NHS appointment) and this was the result! The baby was dancing in there, she said it is the correct size and has a strong heartbeat-I honestly felt a weight lifted from my shoulders I was a bit 😂
