I'm sick of one person in particular telling me I can't possibly have a bump and it's just food!! I mean, excuse me?!
Today someone else asked if I'd felt any movement and before u could answer this same person butted in saying "not possible, way too early to feel movement with your first yet" I just looked and calmly said "No. Not yet" I was furious. I'm fed up of people thinking they know my body more than I do just because they've already had multiple babies. It's so condescending. Sorry, rant over hah!

Tinyti83 · 12/05/2017 23:36

Hi @Squigglefish I've not announced as yet, we're waiting till the 12 week scan to go public but I'm glad that falls after one woman at work (who was my manager at one point) leaves the business as she will be exactly like that!! She spent months alluding to anyone who'll listen that I could be, might be pregnant or made comments of a similar nature until I made an official complaint (hence now not my manager) as I'd never once told her I was trying or had any conversation near to it!? But she is one of those "experts" on everything so I fully understand your frustration! Some people just can't be happy for other people and want to just simply steal their thunder! It's your body, if you feel it, you feel it. Even if it's your mind making you think you feel it (as I'm certain my body/mind plays me for a fool at times lol) it's for no one to tell you otherwise even then! Rant away Hun... we all know that "one" person I think! X

lydiangel83 · 12/05/2017 23:52

@Tinyti83 @Squigglefish my MIL and DM :-/ told me my boobs couldn't possibly have got bigger already yet they clearly have and DH definitely agrees lol. I fear I will get a lot of 'advice' as my first.

I use fake tan sometimes - St Tropez is good and will use some for upcoming weddings etc as it is fine I think. They advise against spray tans due to fumes, as someone else has said.

Are gel nails out for the same reason does anyone know? Are fumes ok?

Squigglefish · 12/05/2017 23:57

@Tinyti83 how unprofessional. That's awful! Good on you for making the complaint. You know, I was told by a friend that someone was making similar remarks telling people to 'keep an eye on me to see if I drink' and that 'there might be news soon' it put me in a horrid position because I had to straight up lie to the people telling me about the rumours. I was only 8weeks at the time and I felt really freaked out. This person must have been watching my every move. Then of course when it came to telling people the moment was taken away from me. People can be spiteful pieces of work. I agree we all know that person haha. Glad I can come on here and moan anonomsly Grin x

lydiangel83 · 12/05/2017 23:59

@Squigglefish I will definitely get comments when I tell people at work who will say I'm
Not dedicated to my job etc etc. It is awful :( well done @Tinyti83 for handling it so well.

Squigglefish · 13/05/2017 00:17

@lydiangel83 it is awful, people just can't be happy for others. Let them get on with it and you can always rant on here hehe x

Tinyti83 · 13/05/2017 05:02

@lydiangel83 well lord help me as I'm only 8 weeks and my boobs (not that they need any growth) have already started to "fill out" shall we say! I'm wearing a tactical scarf to hide them and my bloated belly which in no longer can hold in and control like I could 8 weeks ago! So I'm with you that things grow early for some! There's some real think they know it all s around isn't there!! @Squigglefish omg, it sound like the same person!!! oh unprofessional on a grand scale, she was asking my colleagues/friend at work if she knew if I'd had my implant out as yet (I'd only mentioned once to her in a private conversation that I had said implant and yes at some point would like children) I realised then she was a boss not to trust!! Her comments got upsetting in the months that I continued to get my period and it was awful! She's due to leave 7th June and I'm on countdown, thankfully my new boss is lovely and was the one who took on my complaint! I work within the HR department doing the payroll so she was hot on it thankfully!! How my prev boss has ever got in to HR I'll never know! Like you say... glad we can rant on here, which with no body knowing at the moment I'm finding this a huge support so thank you ladies! X

lydiangel83 · 13/05/2017 06:50

@Tinyti83 I sort of work in HR at the moment and unfortunately I think they are the worst! It's so wrong!

MrsB12345 · 13/05/2017 07:08

Morning all. Happy Saturday!

Quick question. I've just weighed myself and I've gained 10lbs since getting pregnant. I'm 15w1d. Is that too much of a gain? I read somewhere that you should only really put on 5lbs in the first trimester and a 1lb there after but not sure how accurate that is x

88claire · 13/05/2017 07:10

I'm 16+2 today and getting a bit frustrated that all I have so far appears to be bloat! There's definitely no baby bump as I can feel the uterus which is low down and very firm but still flat. I am very bloated by the end if the day but it goes down by the morning.

I used to be a competitive gymnast so I'm wondering if the muscles are holding everything in!

How are the bumps of everyone around 16 weeks? I'm the back of my mind I am worried the baby isnt developing properly (even though the midwife said that shouldn't be the case at my 16 week appointment)!!

MrsB12345 · 13/05/2017 07:13

@88claire I think I'm the opposite you you - I'm plus sized so have a wobbly belly to contend with. I just feel fatter. I can also feel my uterus but with the extra cushioning to push through I doubt I will see a bump for a few more weeks and I'm 15w1d now

88claire · 13/05/2017 07:41

MrsB

Oh I'm not really slim anymore! I've definitely got some belly wobble and muffin tops since stopping sport! Just think the deep down muscles are still there!

Oh well. My friend who just gave birth said the bump was a complete pain anyway!!

TheLionQueen1 · 13/05/2017 07:42

I'm 18+4 and size 16 normally and I've put loads of weight on but then I'm eating loads and thoroughly enjoying it! I went out last night and demolished three courses which I never normally do! My bump seemed to pop out a bit in the last week or so!

Also I think I felt movement like a little kick yesterday but was driving home so couldn't tell, am hoping he does it again today, very exciting!!

lydiangel83 · 13/05/2017 08:49

@TheLionQueen1 lovely bump :) I'm 15+3 and DH said I am developing a paunch lol. Charming! I think it's just that I don't bother holding my belly in as much as I used to, plus about 4kg additional blubber all over (including arms and legs) following terrible carb loading in first trimester. Will try to be healthier in second trimester!

Jessiecat27 · 13/05/2017 13:07

@squigglefish I have someone like that in work! Making snide comments because she had the 'perfect pregnancy' therefore unless you're her best friend you will get a lecture if you feel sick or God forbid have to take a day off work for sickness or time off for an appointment! I was off Wednesday because of my bleeding, Thursday I found out some bad news regarding a family member and yesterday she was just horrible all day making jabs at me. Then proceeded to put a status up about me on Facebook and tagged a colleague that I thought was meant to be my friend! Think it's really sad that some people have nothing better to do but it's really put me off going into work, I feel constantly judged but I can't afford not to work. Sad

ew1990 · 13/05/2017 16:01

How's everyone doing today? I'm hiding in the toilets at work 😂😂

Brens13 · 13/05/2017 16:32

Jessie that's horrible! Try to ignore her but I know it's hard. I imagine her pregnancy wasn't quite as perfect as she'd like you to think! Do what's right for you and your baby as that is the most important thing. Flowers

Monkeypuzzle32 · 13/05/2017 17:51

Jessiecat you need to screenshot that and report her to work, that's so nasty! She might be jealous but still no excuse!

Jessiecat27 · 13/05/2017 18:01

I managed to screenshot it before she blocked me, I just don't know what I've done to her or anyone else?! I tend to keep myself to myself most of the time!
Ew I've done that a few times! Lazy day for me, not feeling great so I'm just lying on couch like a slob Grin

ew1990 · 13/05/2017 18:05

@Jessiecat27 well a 12 hour shift on a Saturday has wiped me out! Just over an hour to go, I'm off tomorrow thank god xx

Fela · 13/05/2017 18:27

My Ovia app tells me: "Vaginal spotting is common in the first trimester" and although it can sometimes be a sign of something bad, it's just as likely (if not more likely) to just be normal implantation bleeding.

I'm 5w on the nose, and I wish I'd read that before I got some bleeding this morning! TMI - I wiped and got some browny/pink stain on the tissue, a tiny bit of pink on a panty liner. I swapped panty liners, burst into tears and just assumed that this....was...the end. But now it's stopped entirely and it's been 3 hours, no sign of any more blood. So hopefully this is just normal spotting. I've not had any big painful cramps or any other symptoms.

What does everyone else think? Had similar symptoms?

ew1990 · 13/05/2017 19:48

@Fela same thing happened to me, at ten week I had a small brown bleed, epu booked me in for a scan the week later, and later that day I went on my pregnancy app and it said about bleeding in early pregnancy and how common it was, I was terrified, but baby was kicking, I'd try not to worry about it xx

Squigglefish · 13/05/2017 21:07

@Jessiecat27 that's beyond awful. That would be a sackable offence where I work. It must be awful having nasty coworkers. You spend more time with them than your friends and family!
I'm getting a weird discomfort in my lower left side, almost in my hip. I thought it was constipation Blush but now I'm not sure if it's ligaments? It's like a constant tightness/fullness and it's getting annoying now.Anyone else get this?x

Jessiecat27 · 13/05/2017 21:29

@squigglefish I just don't want to cause any workplace drama by saying anything, my hips have been quite sore, could just be everything stretching to make room?

lydiangel83 · 13/05/2017 23:32

Sorry to hear that @Jessiecat27 I have horrible colleagues and just try to be glad that I don't have their miserable, bitter life. You're so much better and have so much to look forward to. I now basically ignore them other than basic pleasantries in the morning / evening etc and try to mind my own business the rest of the time. It is hard tho and quite lonely :( (even tho I have lots of friends outside work). Up to you whether you report the Facebook post, it's probably for the best if you do but can imagine may be hard to do it in the short term. Good luck xx
