@Brens13

I have had my early EPU scan this morning and although there was little to see other than the fluid sack and yolk they have confirmed the pregnancy (there were tears) and we got to see on the screen which was amazing, I just have a small early pregnancy cyst on my right ovary which they have said is quite normal and nothing to worry about as this will normally go around 12-13 weeks but explains the twinges she told me. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow so about what I thought from my dates, another scan in two weeks to check on progress and then I'll be discharged to go on as normal with my midwife. All very surreal but I'm so relieved that at this stage everything looks well 🤗 the next few weeks can't pass quick enough!!! X

Brens13 · 28/04/2017 14:31

@Tinyti83 Yeay, that's excellent news, I'm really pleased. And not surprised there were tears!! Fingers crossed all goes smoothly in a couple of weeks too and you can relax even more.
I can see from these forums that most people seem to book private early scans to ease their anxieties. I didn't even realise this was a thing. Think I'll have to wait until 12 weeks tho as DH works in London (we live on the south coast) so he can't just pop out of work for appointments and he'd hate to miss the first scan if I had one early.
Congratulations again Flowers x

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 16:13

@Brens13 I did have what I thought was early scan through EPU due to abdominal pain but turns out I was 13+2! Still confused as to how that happened lol

Squigglefish · 28/04/2017 16:35

Congrats @lydiangel83!

How is everyone's bumps progressing? I feel huge already but baby isn't that big! I keep getting people who already have kids telling me 'you can't have a bump this early' 'that's just bloating' 'you can't show til about 16w with your first'...it is more than just bloat.

mrsjkerry · 28/04/2017 18:11

@Squigglefish I feel massive and have grown ridiculously!

This is mine at 13 weeks. I'm a size 20 so have some extra cushioning but I'm definitely bigger as clothes won't fit now x

I've got lots to read through here, congratulations to all you ladies on your scans!! Mines 6 days away now xxx

Bubbasmama2017 · 28/04/2017 18:52

I'm 11 weeks and have a bump already too I'm a size 10-12 usually and have put on 10 lbs since I got pregnant already is that really bad? I'm non stop eating and even though I have morning sickness a lot still it's not helping with the weight gain. I'm up to a size 14-16 and think it's really obvious that I have a bump but haven't told anyone at work yet! Got my 12 week scan next Thursday hoping everything is ok I want this baby more than anything! X

mrsjkerry · 28/04/2017 19:17

@Bubbasmama2017 you sound like me. I was a nice 10, have gained about 15lb...yeh it's not great but tbh if you can manage it so that you don't gain that much in second trimester it's fine because you won't exceed the recommended weight gain. My plan is to eat better as soon as I feel better. I'm now more like a 14-16. Hate it! Especially as I worked so hard to get down for my wedding

Snoozlecorn · 28/04/2017 19:18

Hi ladies! I'm new to the forum, found out I was pregnant on Sunday after 8 loooong months of trying! I'll be 5 weeks on Sunday, still in shock tbh I thought it was never going to happen naturally! I've had some sickness already :( and near constant mild cramping for the last 2 weeks or so. Booked myself an early reassurance scan at 7 weeks to check there is actually something in there as i'm feeling very paranoid that something is going to go wrong. I've had to tell work already as i've got a high risk job but everyone is being very supportive, they all knew we were trying so they're almost as happy as I am haha.

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 19:44

I'm just bigger all over I think rather than bump specifically, have gone up from size 10 to 12.

Turns out I have a urine infection which led to the cramps and the EPU scan, so now on antibiotics :-/

lydiangel83 · 28/04/2017 20:49

@Snoozlecorn welcome and congrats! :-)

Bubbasmama2017 · 28/04/2017 21:04

@snoozecorn congratulations! I had an early scan was great to see the baby's heart beating I've been really anxious the whole way through so far even though all my friends and family are telling me to relax

Squigglefish · 28/04/2017 21:14

Congrats @snoozlecorn I also had shocked cramps at 5 week which lasted to the end of week 6.
I'm glad others are getting bumps! I knew it wasn't in my head. My tights have been rolling down all day hahaha!

Squigglefish · 28/04/2017 21:18

Here is mine!

ew1990 · 28/04/2017 21:48

sophr2017 · 29/04/2017 20:54

Hey all, so I'm feeling horrendous!! I've got tonsillitis and have been taking paracetamol regularly but am worried about taking that too much because of baby, drinking loads of fluids too. Can't get to the doctor until Tuesday and don't want to go to walk in as says online not to with tonsillitis as it might clear within 4 days Sad

Anyone got any suggestions of anything else to do?

Feeling incredibly sorry for myself and can't snap out of it!!

Moo31 · 29/04/2017 21:09

Soph sorry to hear you are not well. I get the dreaded tonsillitis often. It's nasty.
Gargling warm salt water helps me. Also some honey / lemon juice / hot water / cinnamon might help soothe. Ice pops / ice lollies / ice cream and ice cold water. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Ps The midwife told me no more than 8 paracetamol a day and no more than 3 days in a row.

sophr2017 · 29/04/2017 21:26

Thanks Moo, I'll try the salt water before bed and good to know about the paracetamol as I wasn't sure at all and googling gets all kind of results! Thanks x
