I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Hope it's okay to join, 39 weeks today and feeling massively fed up:-( congrats to everyone who's had their babies! Xxxx

crumblequeen · 19/04/2017 22:48

Hello all the new people, let's hope for some baby action overnight

Dandelionrarrrr · 20/04/2017 05:55

Hi ladies can I join I'm really fed up at 40+3. Tried everything to evict my squatter but to no avail. I've decided to try and ignore him and he might want a bit of attention and come out. 😉 I have had lots of twinges over the last week and 3 days but nothing has progressed. It's horrible being teased every night, going to sleep thinking it could be tonight.

It's lovely to hear that some babies have been born, and hope your recoveries are smooth.

It's also nice to hear that you can have a pessary and go back to MWLU. Keeps me a bit more positive. But at the same time where this is my second I'm not as oppose to an induction - I didn't have one last time but was in really slow cruel labour for 2 days before. I am for that reason questioning whether or not to have a sweep tomorrow. :-s

throughgrittedteeth · 20/04/2017 07:30

Statistically, are we more likely to go into labour in the evening?
I did with my first and so did my three friends but I thought that was a fluke. This time round, all my signs, twinges and pains have been from around 6pm each night, then I go to bed and wake up as if nothing happened Angry just hoping pondering really.

TopKittyKat · 20/04/2017 07:59

Morning all! Hello to all of the new ladies joining.

So I'm into the last 24 hours until induction. I had a bit of cramping last night but it didn't develop into anything unfortunately. Let's see what today brings...

grittedteeth - I've heard anecdotally that a lot of people have gone into labour in the evening but I'm not sure of any official statistics.

GastonsWife · 20/04/2017 08:36

I think I'll be pregnant forever 😬

marmitecheesetoast · 20/04/2017 09:05

Morning all... still here, still pregnant Envy 40+6.

DH and I went out for jerk chicken last night (super spicy) then I had a long candlelit soak in clary sage infused bath then got straight in bed and listened to positive birth affirmations and relaxation track... had hoped that, coupled with the fact that DH has an interview this afternoon might do the trick overnight, no such luck though!!

Good plan on booking treatments LionTamer! I've got a reflexology appointment booked tomorrow afternoon. Was contemplating booking a pedicure or hair appointment too!

Hope your midwide appt and sweep go well today coloured, that'll be me tomorrow morning.

I've never really noticed any BHs either Gaston. Apparently we're probably still having them, just some women don't notice them as much (maybe a good sign for labour?!! Grin)

Haha Crumble love the night time hair washing tactic!! Any luck?!

Throughgrittedteetch Yes apparently more likely to go into labour overnight - or basically when it's dark - because this allows the production of more oxytocin - we feel safe and secure in the dark and warmth, it's how mammals like to give birth. So every night I am going to bed excited like it's Christmas Eve and every morning disappointed to wake up and realise I've not even felt so much as a niggle Hmm

TopKitty Thinking of you today and everything crossed for you. Have you any plans? It's so easy to say and difficult to do but try and stay really calm and relaxed as the more we stress about this stuff the more adrenaline in our system which isn't conducive to allowing the body to go into labour! If only it was that easy though!!!

Think I might not bother going out for walks or bouncing on the ball or any of that stuff today and just have a day of doing nothing... which I've actually not yet done at all on ML have been so busy keeping busy and meeting up with people, cleaning, organising etc etc. Maybe I need a down day!

peanutbutter310 · 20/04/2017 09:10

Can I join in? I'm 40+3 and despite weeks of Braxton Hicks and false contractions still no sign of baby. Getting more uncomfortable and impatient by the day!

whogivesaratzass · 20/04/2017 10:04

Nothing here Hmm I have a hairdresser appointment that I desperately need so was hoping to temp fate and Sod's law I would have went into labour last night. Nope, woke up a million times with a sore back, sore swollen hands, needing to pee, pins and needles etc etc etc but no cramping/contractions sigh

Anyone heard of or tried EPO, I read putting a tablet up there can help soften the cervix but bit uncertain about trying it, seems weird popping a pill up there!

MW tomorrow and she already told me no chance of a sweep till at least 41 weeks Sad

GastonsWife · 20/04/2017 10:30

Who I heard about putting a raspberry leaf tablet up there! I'm not precious about anything like that at all but not sure I would put a tablet up there without a HCP's say so! I do have EPO though! Let's see how desperate I get!

marmitecheesetoast · 20/04/2017 10:39

Have just tried the old wives tale of scrubbing the kitchen floor rather energetically on my hands and knees and generally cleaning the kitchen with a lot of bouncing around to my 'happy playlist'! Think all I've succeeded in doing is hurting my pelvis a bit though Hmm so much for just sitting down and chilling today!!
I'm having a lot more discharge, can't decide if any of it has any mucus in it or not. Not seen any mucus for definite since Tuesday afternoon now and no other signs of anything.

whogives maybe you'll start when in the hairdressers?! Grin

DirtyDancing · 20/04/2017 10:46

Morning everyone.. yuck I hate fruit teas.. is there any other way of drinking it? Other than topped up with Prosecco (I wish) was wondering if it would work cold topped up with lemonade or something?!?!

OP posts:
marmitecheesetoast · 20/04/2017 10:52

I've been drinking it iced some afternoons DirtyDancing so I'm sure you could try topping up with lemonade or adding a bit of fruit juice or sparkling water

GastonsWife · 20/04/2017 10:58

Marmite how do you make your ice tea Blush

crumblequeen · 20/04/2017 11:26

No action here either - been to get haircuts for the boys and drop one off at a friend's. due date is tomorrow so I've got 8 nights before induction.
marmite sounds like you've tried everything!
coloured good luck for sweep-my midwife will do one on Tuesday if needed. Haven't had one before-do you know if it's ok to drive afterwards or will I need to bring someone?

crumblequeen · 20/04/2017 11:28

My midwife said that middle of the night is statistically more likely to be when you go into labour as being more relaxed and body can get on with it.

peanutbutter310 · 20/04/2017 11:38

Crumble I've just got back from my first sweep, am a bit crampy but fine to drive home.

marmitecheesetoast · 20/04/2017 12:15

Gaston I make a normal mug of it, but put a bit less boiling water in and really give the tea bag a good mash and let it steep a while so it's quite strong. So about 2/3 a mug maybe? Then get a tall glass with loads and loads of ice in it, pour hot tea into glass with ice and swill around. Sit back and enjoy! Grin

Coloured · 20/04/2017 12:39

Well I went in for a sweep, although it didn't happen as LO's head has become 'free' despite being engaged at 37 weeks. MW is concerned as this is my first baby and I'm 41 weeks now so she has referred me to the hospital today for an appointment (not sure what's going to happenConfused)

She also booked my induction for Tuesday if nothing happens today — something I was really hoping to avoidSad

Hope you all have some better news today!

GastonsWife · 20/04/2017 12:43

Oh coloured hopefully the hospital will be able to clear things up. Tuesday is still a little way a way so hopefully it won't come to that! Got everything crosssed for you!
Thanks for the recipe Marmite! I'm off out for lunch with my cousin. I'm trying so hard to find something to do every day! I wish people would stop going to work and hang out with me instead!
OH is working away in London (we are quite far from London about 3 hours) on my due date. I hope that tempts fate!

IAmALionTamer · 20/04/2017 12:59

Oh coloured I hope that the hospital appointment goes well and that baby re-engages ASAP.
I have completely vegged out today, just cannot get motivated to do anything. Certainly the nesting instinct hasn't kicked in for me at all Blush

Dandelionrarrrr · 20/04/2017 13:33

I'm intrigued as to what they would do at your appointment today coloured if they are going To induce you on Tuesday and the midwife saw you today and the head is free. Did they say what they might do. I Hope it goes well and you don't have To wait too long, sometimes it's nice to just hear another persons perspective anyway.

Dandelionrarrrr · 20/04/2017 13:36

iam I had that feeling yesterday, feel a bit more motivated today but still not busy/nesting as much as I was in week 38/9. Which doesn't feel me with much confidence as you are meant to have a big rush of energy when you are about to drop...

marmitecheesetoast · 20/04/2017 13:37

Me too coloured could it just be for a scan? I thought some babies didn't actually engage their heads properly until labour started anyway. Hope it goes well anyway

crumblequeen · 20/04/2017 14:16

I thought first babies can engage in labour too.

I feel quite motivated today and a bit hyper but I'm sure it's more lack of sleep than anything else. Although I have just booked to take 4 kids trampolining tomorrow so that might be Sod's law!
