I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Congratulations Gorilla and HLBug Great choice of names. I hope you're enjoying newborn snuggles and HLBug I hope your little one figures out her feeding.

Marmite - I feel the same about looming induction. I am currently booked into MWL birthing centre and was hoping for a water birth. They are going to start me off with propess on Friday morning. After some initial monitoring when they first administer it, I will be allowed to go home and wait for labour to start. If I go into labour within 24hours then I can still birth at the MWL unit. If it doesn't work then I'll be admitted for the next stage of induction and have to stay in. It might be the same for you and you can still have your water birth even if you need a little help to get things going. Also, it sounds like things are progressing for you if you are losing your plug (albeit slowly).

I've still got today and tomorrow for baby girl to arrive! Come on baby!

grittedteeth - sorry to hear your feeling emotional, Cake Flowers

Morning...Conor was born at 7.57pm last night on the same day as his daddy - so he's very happy about that.

Had a pretty rough time & feel like crap now. Was induced as nothing was happening naturally from waters breaking morning before at 9.20am and managed to labour for 4 hours just with tens machine and gentle birthing app. Was 3cm and felt like I couldn't continue on my own any more.

Got the epidural which was amazing to start with and then I got a reaction to it and shivered the whole way through, vomited and got a temperature so had to get antibiotics for that! Baby then was head turned to the side so had to have forceps and a cut. But was so relieved to have him.

Tried to boob a few times and nothing & then they had to take him off to get injections to due to what they gave me!

Totally worth if but my God do I feel like a car has hit me!

Congrats to the other mammies! Delighted for you and the others - you are nearly there

GastonsWife · 19/04/2017 09:04

Well done Peanut and congratulations!!!

crumblequeen · 19/04/2017 09:07

Yay Peanut congratulations! Hope you're feeling more human soon.

I'm really hoping for a midwife centre birth too so don't want to be induced as would have to go on the ward. Had two very instrumental and messy births in theatre (although avoided c-sections, just) so really just want a calm one this time.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/04/2017 09:23

Congratulations well done Peanut!! Sounds like you had a rough time, you poor thing. Hope you're both recovering well now and enjoying those newborn cuddles. Hope Conor takes the boob soon. Lovely that he was born on the same day as his daddy!

KittyKat yes mine is the same to be fair. They've called it an 'outpatient induction' in the first instance - with pessary and then going home for 24 hours. If labour starts naturally in this time I can still use the midwife birth centre. If not it progresses to full scale induction on the ward and in the delivery suite. For some reason I just don't think if I get to that point the pessary alone will work for me. I don't know why I just seem to have got that in my head. Maybe I'm being negative though! Got everything crossed something starts for you in next two days. How many weeks are you on Friday?

DirtyDancing · 19/04/2017 09:47

Peanut firstly huge congratulations on the birth of your little one. Sorry to hear you had such a tough time. Do try and rest as much as you possibly can, For the next few days. You need to give yourself time to recover from such a tough labour and cut.

TopKitty we are all routing for your little one to make an appearance ASAP! Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to hear how many of us are feeling a bit crappy about everything. It's so tough waiting it out these last few weeks with inductions looming and things. My due date is tomorrow and I'm so glad my Mum is coming to visit as I feel completely despondent and down in the dumps today. Firstly because I just know I'm going to have to have a sweep which I hated last time and then I will need to start talking about induction with my midwife at the end of this week.

Off to buy raspberry leaf tea, pineapple and Jasmin oil today!

OP posts:
GastonsWife · 19/04/2017 09:50

I haven't heard of Jasmine oil! Will have to try that one out :-). Will try anything at this point!

marmitecheesetoast · 19/04/2017 09:54

I'm using jasmine oil and clary sage oil! No luck so far mind....

marmitecheesetoast · 19/04/2017 09:56

Make sure you mix the essential oil with a base oil if using to massage on to skin.
I've also mixed mine with vodka to make atomiser sprays (have been using lavender in this way to relax at bedtime and when listening to hypnobirthing tracks)
I've also been mixing a couple of drops of essential oil with milk and adding to bath (the milk stops it just sitting on the surface of the water)

marmitecheesetoast · 19/04/2017 14:41

Managed to keep busy all morning doing a load of baking. Finally just sat down now, exhausted and feeling a bit despondent again now! How's anyone else feeling? Any signs?

crumblequeen · 19/04/2017 15:11

No signs Confused been out for a couple of hours with my original NCT friends so at least the kids have had a good run around with their friends. Exhausted from sitting on park bench and quite despondent here too!

IAmALionTamer · 19/04/2017 15:18

Lovely to hear of more babies making their appearances. I'm sorry to hear that some of the labours were especially tough, hopefully everyone will feel more human soon.
I've been bouncing on my ball, out for walks, drinking raspberry leaf tea and eating pineapple! Am beginning to get period type cramps which come and go, but nothing else. I'm trying not to get excited or read too much into anything. Still reckon that I'll have at least a week to go yet.
Trying to make the most of it, treated myself to a pedicure yesterday (such a treat for my poor swollen feet and ankles!) and have a hair appointment booked for Friday too.

whogivesaratzass · 19/04/2017 16:27

I'm a little late to the thread ladies, I hope that's ok.

39 today and sitting googling how to induce labour as I am so ready to have this baby! Had acupuncture yesterday and not so much as a cramp. I know I should be enjoying these (hopefully) last few days of peace and quiet but my patience is wearing thin already. Convinced myself I will be late in an attempt to avoid feeling like this but urgh! Bump has started to drop so I can finally breathe again, which is lovely!

Fingers crossed for some babies overnight for everyone and congrats to those who are already here!

GastonsWife · 19/04/2017 17:16

Nothing here either :-(

Coloured · 19/04/2017 17:24

Congratulations to the ladies who have had their babies!!Flowers Im not jealous at all

40+6 today, given up on trying to induce labour myself and resided to the sofa watching Sky movies all day

Got a MW appointment tomorrow which I hoped I wouldn't have to attend, booked in for another attempt at a sweep after no luck on my due dateSad

Fingers crossed something magical happens tonight, though my luck recently has been awful!

Hope you're all doing well! Smile

GastonsWife · 19/04/2017 17:28

Good luck tomorrow coloured. I've had a bit of diarohhea today which I heard could actually be a good thing?!!Confused. And some back spasms. I've not had a single braxton hick this entire pregnancy, can someone tell me what they feel like? DM has only had me and DTS and she swears she didn't feel a single contraction during labour!

Coloured · 19/04/2017 17:34

Thank you GastonsSmile

I've had a few aches and pains too today, I keep getting gas pains and BH's but I've been having them for more than a week now so I'm not feeling too excited. Although I do kind of feel that heaviness you get before you come on your period so that could be a sign (hopefully)Confused

My Braxton Hicks are just like where my whole stomach goes hard and tight and they kind of leave me feeling nauseous.. if I'm lay down and get one I can't breathe sometimes Hmm they usually go if I move around though

throughgrittedteeth · 19/04/2017 18:18

I've had BH since about 30 weeks they're similar to coloured's. They've been getting more intense in the last week and today I've had cramp all day and light pains at the top of my bump. I won't get my hopes up though!

endoftether12 · 19/04/2017 18:32

Can I join? I am 39 weeks tomorrow and feeling pretty uncomfortable now. Got SPD and this has now developed into shooting pains down the inside of my thighs which kills! I am quite happy to hang on till my due date then I will have had enough Grin
Getting some decorating done at the weekend so want to get that out of the way!
Enjoyed reading this thread, loving hearing about the babies being born.

DirtyDancing · 19/04/2017 18:46

Welcome whogives and ok. A few of us are at the same 39-40+ mark so it's a matter of time before we have a baby boom (positive thinking!)

Marmite thanks for the oil tips. Getting on these tonight. Did not know about using milk in the bath. Genius! I am really intrigued about the vodka room spray. Never heard of this... can I also drink it whilst in labour?! Grin

Think a few of us are at that slightly crappy, despondent point now. It's the final slog, we all need to hang in here. I was so down in the dumps this morning, but took my DS to the park today and it has brightened me up a bit. But I am TOTALLY knackered again now. I do have backache but I think that's from just sleeping funny, carrying DS scooter around the park and general aches and pains. But here's hoping it's a sign!!

OP posts:
crumblequeen · 19/04/2017 20:07

I'm going to wash my hair in the hope of a night time hospital trip Grin

DirtyDancing · 19/04/2017 21:01

Ha ha Crumble!!

I'm off to bed.. is irritability a sign of labour? I'm suddenly feeling really irritable about EVERYTHING!!! Lol

GastonsWife · 19/04/2017 21:03

DirtyDancing I think at this point we'll be asking "is breathing a sign of labour"!! 😫😂😅

DirtyDancing · 19/04/2017 22:00

Ha ha!! 😂
