I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Had a whole afternoon/ evening of severe pains coming in waves. Decided to try and get some sleep, only to wake up to nothing going on... I suspect I've either got some very watery discharge (which I haven't had up until now) or my waters are going, but either way I feel fed up. I know I shouldn't complain really as I'm not quite as far along as some of you ladies but bloody hell it's annoying! Going to try and see my midwife today and see what she says.

whogivesaratzass · 26/04/2017 07:46

Snap through! I went to bed at 9.30 cause I was in so much pain and thought better get a wee bit of rest cause this bambino was is going to be here by morning...... nope!

So frustrating! Well today is my official due date for what it's worth Hmm

crumblequeen · 26/04/2017 08:12

Hope things going well for coloured and marmite quiet too??

Midwife examined me and cervix is soft and thin but not dilated at all yet so she couldn't do a sweep. I'll be called about induction on Friday but I think I might refuse it and ask for a Sunday appointment, just to give us a couple of dates extra chance to happen on its own. Friday is only 41 weeks and that's policy rather than for any medical reason I need, so still quite early I think.

whogivesaratzass · 26/04/2017 08:31

That is quite early crumble. I won't even be allowed a sweep till I'm 9 days over then they book the induction for 13 days over with the hope of being born at +14

I still worry that's a bit late though so thinking I might need to come up with a plan for full induction about 10 days over ( no idea how!) but I worry about the state of the placenta going a full 14.

throughgrittedteeth · 26/04/2017 13:50

So my waters went this morning and have continued to trickle since. Lost my plug, went to the hospital as advised.
I've been getting contractions every 10 minutes since about 10. They were happy with the progression and have sent me home until the contractions are more frequent. If it doesn't progress then I'll be in for an induction tomorrow.

Good luck everyone, thinking of you all Flowers

whogivesaratzass · 26/04/2017 14:04

Aw through I'm so happy for you! Congrats your wee one will be here in no time!!

I am in the shittiest of moods and found myself screaming at my car for being a twat in the middle of a car park! Pissed off doesn't even begin to describe it Angry

TopKittyKat · 26/04/2017 16:23

Hi Ladies, hope all are feeling ok today. I am really out of sorts today, angry and teary a bit like you whogives
I had a routine midwife appointment today, had to take my blood pressure a couple of times as it was initially quite high. Baby had quite a high heart rate, but after listening and feeling for a while my midwife said that she could feel me mildly contracting across my abdomen and the heart rate was reacting to that.
Long story short she did an internal examination and gave me a sneaky sweep (they don't do them in my county until 41 weeks normally). Apparently I am 50% effaced and 1cm dilated so not much to write home about. She said labour could be tonight, tomorrow or it could be in a fortnight Confused
She's popping round tomorrow morning to see me and take my blood pressure again. Trying to stay positive but at the same time don't want to get excited over nothing X

GastonsWife · 26/04/2017 16:55

Hi ladies! Did anyone set up a chat so we could stay in touch once we've had our babies or should I do that now?
This is the only prt of mumsnet I have ever used so where would I put it and what should I call it so we can all find it?

endoftether12 · 27/04/2017 16:00

Hope everyone is going on okay. I am 40 weeks today. I had a growth scan this morning (all was well) and was offered a stretch and sweep- I refused for now. I am hoping labour will happen on its on in the next few days. I forgot to ask how long they leave it before inducing though, even though that was the main question I wanted the answer to! Brain like a sieve at the moment!

crumblequeen · 27/04/2017 18:17

Hi all, very quiet on here suddenly! Hope that means some babies are arriving.

I'm 41 weeks tomorrow. Going in to assessment unit for a sweep then booked in for induction on Sunday eek!

DirtyDancing · 27/04/2017 18:51

Gastons yes please, I don't think it's been set up. It could go in: being a parent / post natal clubs perhaps?

Crumble good luck for the sweep tomorrow and induction Sunday. Do you start with a pessary?

I had my sweep today. Was fine, think MW was quite gentle so no idea if it will do much. She'll do another one Sat and one more on Mon. Then my induction starts Tuesday.

Hoping for some baby news from the others soon

Still no news here, had another sweep today (my third and final) but the midwife didn't seem optimistic it would work. Induction all booked for Sunday, going to have to revisit my hospital bag and add some stuff to keep me entertained while we wait for things to get moving!

See you here soon (really soon I hope) ladies.

crumblequeen · 28/04/2017 06:42

Baby girl is here at exactly 41 weeks-very strong contractions started as I was going to bed at 11pm and was 9cm dilated on arrival at birthing centre an hour later. Baby born 2am, no drugs, my first natural birth of three which I'd really hoped for after a lot of interventions before so I'm very relieved I managed it. It really hurt! Minimal damage and she is lovely Grin

GastonsWife · 28/04/2017 08:31

Well done Crumble! Such great news to wake up to Flowers

whogivesaratzass · 28/04/2017 09:00

peanutbutter310 · 28/04/2017 10:08

Coloured · 28/04/2017 12:43

Congratulations crumble!

Well, I was induced on Tuesday, nothing happened so had second process overnight Wednesday, waters broke in hospital at 5am on Thursday morning after virtually no sleep — meconium was in waters so was rushed down to delivery suite where I was in labour for 7 hours, stuck at 3cm despite being on a drip. They eventually gathered that I wasn't going to progress naturally so they sent me in for a c-section! Not everything I'd have hoped for but baby Felix is here, 7lbs 9oz and he's doing perfectly! Very sore at the moment and tired, but newborn snuggles are so worth itSmile

Hope you're all well Grin

IAmALionTamer · 28/04/2017 13:02

Congratulations crumble and coloured such fantastic news from the both of you! Wishing you both a speedy recovery from your labours Flowers
I've been in a really pissy mood the past few days, just can't seem to shake it off. My midwife on Wednesday was hopeful that labour wouldn't be too far away but no further signs of anything happening yet. Due date is tomorrow, so I know I'm on the home stretch at least

GastonsWife · 28/04/2017 13:45

coloured congrats on baby felix. What a gorgeous name!

IDontLookMyAge76 · 28/04/2017 17:10

Hey everyone,

Currently 39+2 and my due date is Tuesday. MW said she was 2/5 engaged a few weeks ago and got loads of signs of impending labour ie loose bowels (TMI straight out the bat), lots of braxton hicks but nothing really building, sore back, nausea, anxiety/jittery, nesting, insomnia but not lost mucus plug yet n baby is wriggling around like nothings changed.

Cannot wait til baby is out but kind of feeling like i'm going to miss my built in crumb catcher, so much easier to clean up when you can just walk over to the sink and brush off the old tummy shelf in stead of getting the hoover out

justanotheryoungmother · 28/04/2017 19:15

@IDontLookMyAge76 are you me??Grin
