I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Good luck Marmite p

marmitecheesetoast · 22/04/2017 01:24

Thanks, still waiting for check Hmm exhausted. seems to be very busy here worn lots of ladies in active labour

GastonsWife · 22/04/2017 01:52

You must be so tired Marmite. Thought something was happening here but now I'm thinking it was a false alarm. Been trying to get to sleep since 9am but intense period like pains that got me all excited. But now they seem to be coming from my back instead. Still regular though. I feel totally clueless about these things!

peanut2017 · 22/04/2017 06:48

How did you get on Marmite?

Coloured · 22/04/2017 07:17

Hope everything is okay marmite, any news Gastons?

I've had zero twinges now for more than a day, I'm beginning to think I'm not even pregnant anymore and I've made it all up — I'm a heavy subject to the 'any signs' texts too, 😂

40+9 today so as you can tell I'm losing my mind a bit😭

crumblequeen · 22/04/2017 07:50

Morning all, hope everyone ok especially marmite and gastons. 40+1 here and I did not think that my third baby would be late when the others were early!

crumblequeen · 22/04/2017 07:53

coloured I'm sorry nothing has happened for you Confused I don't want to be induced but pleased they do it at 40+7 as I'll be losing my mind by then too!

GastonsWife · 22/04/2017 08:32

This is so painful guys! I'm such a wimp though. Poor DM was round at half six comforting me. Don't want to go to the hospital and it turn out I just needed to do a poo though Blush

marmitecheesetoast · 22/04/2017 08:57

Oh no gastons sorry you're in pain, do you think they feel like contractions? Are they getting more regular? I've heard they can feel like upset tummy cramps?!

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Got home at 2.30am absolutely exhausted. So tired but can't sleep anymore now. Not what I needed. It wasn't my waters just large amounts of watery discharge. Which is what my gut said but I guess you have to be safe than sorry and get these things checked.
40+8 today and feeling almost like a failure that nothing has happened. The sweep yesterday clearly did nothing.

Coloured sorry to hear you're feeling like this too. It's a fucker isn't it?

Wondering how Kitty got on with the outpatient induction yesterday and if the pessary got things going itself?

DirtyDancing · 22/04/2017 09:29

Gastons that is how they felt with my first, mainly back ache cramps. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. X

Marmite you must be exhausted, but glad they have checked you properly and put your mind at rest. When is your next sweep due? I know lots of people who didn't respond to the first one, but got on better with the second of third x

ColouredCake hoping it happens for your soon x

marmitecheesetoast · 22/04/2017 09:39

Thanks Dirtydancing I've had two sweeps now, one at 40 weeks and one at 41 weeks. They won't do another now. Next step is just induction on Wednesday morning. Which I really wanted to avoid as I'll not be able to use the birth centre or pool Sad

Just really beginning to lose hope it'll actually happen now. Hate waking up every morning and thinking oh, still not a peep. Sorry to be so negative just feeling a bit down today.

Really hope this is the start of things for gaston

Coloured · 22/04/2017 09:55

Ooh, hope this is the start for you then Gastons! It sounds very promisingFlowers

marmite feel like we are in the same boat here😴 I'm absolutely terrified of being induced, especially after my hospital visit on Thursday where the midwife claimed being induced was awful and the pain was much, much worse than a natural labour. This is my first so as you can tell I don't feel reassured whatsoever😂

I've got until Tuesday until my induction but I really don't think I'm going to be avoiding it, I haven't even lost my plug or anything yetBlush

crumblequeen · 22/04/2017 10:02

Don't give up coloured I haven't noticed losing a plug in either birth and didn't have any build up feelings at all-just straight into active labour pretty quickly.

Coloured · 22/04/2017 10:08

Well that's some good news crumbled, I literally just feel like I'm never going to go into labour! So frustratingSad keep trying to keep my mind off it but when that's all everybody keeps asking about it's very hard!!

DirtyDancing · 22/04/2017 10:33

Marmite I went into labour the night before I was due to have my first, hopefully there is still time for you. I did end up being induced though as labour didn't progress, as DS was back to back. I do understand how you feel. It's tough waiting. Will they go straight for the drip, or offer you a pessary first? I was told I could use the birthing pool after 1 pessary.

It's fascinating how it varies at every hospital. My MW wouldn't do a sweep at 40 weeks, first will be 41 then it's every other day for 3 sweeps

Coloured with my first I didn't loose my plug and my waters didn't break, I just had contractions.

Dandelionrarrrr · 22/04/2017 10:37

gaston that sounds like labour. Severe constipation feeling. Fingers crossed baby will be with you soon!
Still sweet FA here, severely disappointed after such a positive midwife appointment/sweep. Why are we all so overdue, there's too many of us. More babies now!

GastonsWife · 22/04/2017 11:07

Eek the calls from family members have started! The timings aren't very consistent OH wants to go to hospital but I've taken myself back to bed. They seem less consistent now then they did last night?

DirtyDancing · 22/04/2017 11:35

Gastons defo rest as much as you can just in case this is it. When to go to hospital is a difficult one, but I would say stay in the comfort of your own home as long as you feel happy to do so. You may end up waiting in a waiting room for a while before you get a bed if it's not imminent and it's just nicer having your own bed! Having said that you could get assessed to see how you are doing if and they might just send you home if you're not quite there yet or you could be further along than you think! Eeek good luck x

IAmALionTamer · 22/04/2017 13:22

Gaston really hoping this is it for you. Wishing you lots of luck!

marmitecheesetoast · 22/04/2017 16:33

I'm hoping the fact it's gone quiet from gaston means she is definitely in labour! Yes, come on, whose next, we can do this!!

Ah coloured yes sounds like we are in the same boat, you're a day ahead of me. Fingers and toes crossed for both of us. Trying to think positive but it's hard at this point isn't it.

Dirtydancing I am booked in for an outpatient pessary induction - where they send you home and you have 24 hours to get into labour yourself. If that happens I believe I can still use the birth centre and birth pool but if not then it progresses to the full on unstoppable steam train of induction... I just don't have high hopes the pessary alone will work as i know of quite a few people who have been induced and all ended up needing the drip even when their cervixes seemed quite favourable.

Just trying to relax in the garden and enjoy the sunshine this afternoon. Still got a bit of on off back ache and watery discharge but nothing else to report.

GastonsWife · 22/04/2017 17:40

Hello ladies. Nothing this afternoon but it seems like they are back on track! My poor DM cooked me all my favourite food to cheer me up but I can't sit up the table! 🙈. I think we might be heading up the hospital soonish.

DirtyDancing · 22/04/2017 20:09

Thinking of you gastons
*
Marmite* hope you enjoyed the sun. I got to the park for a bit with DS and DH which made me feel bit better.

Hears hoping some of us get an exciting night...!

OP posts:
marmitecheesetoast · 22/04/2017 22:03

Eep thinking of you gastons. I've had a big increase in the watery discharge again this afternoon/evening and I've also had a bit of a dodgy tummy and a couple of very mild period pain type cramps this evening. Just been for a walk round the block, had a big bowl of pineapple and now off to bed.
Desperately trying not get my hopes up as I can't stand that feeling where you wake up in the morning and nothing has happened.

Sending positive labour vibes to all overnight!

throughgrittedteeth · 22/04/2017 23:15

Ah Gastons hopefully it's all go for you now!

I've had some more pains and contraction-like feelings in my back tonight. BH have been terrible all day and I'm more uncomfortable than ever - also the pressure in my cervix is ridiculous.

Really hoping that these are signs and it'll get going soon! I'm not quite as far along as some of you, I don't know how you stay patient - I'm knackered and pissed of most of the time these days!

GastonsWife · 23/04/2017 03:57

She's here! Labour was horrible horrible horrible and made me even more sure we are one and out 🙈! Once we got to the hospital it all happened pretty quickly (about 3 hours) and only gas and air as I was completely dilated once I was examined and needed no stitches. Don't know how I managed that as she felt huge! and we are now on the ward missing Daddy and feeling a bit overwhelmed! Hopefully babies for you lovely ladies soon. Certainly going to stick around to see all your lovely news 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻
