I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Congratulations dandelion that's fantastic news. So lovely to hear that once you were on the drip things progressed well.
Flowers to all who are overdue and fed up. I'm 39+2 today, feeling fed up so can only imagine how I'd feel 2 weeks further along X

whogivesaratzass · 24/04/2017 11:34

Hey everyone!

Congrats to everyone who's little babies arrived over the weekend! So pleased for you and great to hear of a positive induction story dandelion! Flowers

Well you think spending 3 days in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal would be a huge tempt if fate - nope! Not a bloody twinge!! Just shattered and sore from sleeping in a different bed. To be fair it was absolutely lovely to relax for a few days before the wee one arrives.

Due date tomorrow and the phone is going mad with texts and fb messages, it's lovely that so many people care enough to check up on us but bloody hell!

GastonsWife · 24/04/2017 11:59

Congratulations Dandelion! Our DC weighed the same amount Grin. Got my fingers crossed those babies will come soon ladies

DirtyDancing · 24/04/2017 13:18

Dandelion awww I am so pleased to hear your news. Huge congratulations! What a lovely positive experience with your midwife, that is so lovely to hear especially as I head towards one myself at this rate! Enjoy your cuddles xx

Marmite sending you lots of positive vibes. I totally understood how you are feeling. I really hope something happens before Thursday for you, but if not you will have your little one in your arms in no time I am sure.

I completely get what you mean about loosing your mind. I had an okay day yesterday, but I went to bed and cried myself to sleep. Woke up at 5.30am and had a few more tears. Sounds dramatic and a bit crazy but I think the pressure of the sweep and pessary looming finally broke me Sad so with big red puffy eyes DH had to do the nursery run today, but I can't get out of it tomorrow.

Crumble I think we are on a similar time line now. My Sweep is thurs, induction could be any day from Saturday, will be told in thurs and be booked in. Depressing!

Aw congratulations Dandelion!! And as others have said, great to hear a more positive induction experience! Star

Ah crumble, dancing and coloured (and I guess everyone!) sorry to hear you're feeling so fed up today too. It really is a tortuous tough old waiting game.

Ahh whogives can't believe your weekend away didn't tempt fate for you!

Thanks for your kind comments guys, feeling a bit more positive now than I was this morning. I'm actually now back in the bloody triage waiting room as not sure again whether or not my waters have gone, feel like a right idiot! 🙈 I've continued to have the heavy watery discharge over last few days but this morning I had a really sustained trickle that lasted a lot longer and soaked straight through my underwear and PJ bottoms and was running down my legs Hmm nothing much other than what I'm pretty sure is just a bit of discharge since though. But still need to get it checked out. They warned me I could be here for hours, the waiting room is standing room only now Shock have been having back ache and some very mild blink and you'd miss them lower ab cramps again the last few hours. Resolutely not getting my hopes up again though. And if it is the start of anything probably sitting in this bloody hot uncomfortable waiting room is not going to be conducive to relaxing and getting things going...!

marmitecheesetoast · 24/04/2017 17:02

So it wasn't my waters - just an impressive amount of watery discharge!! Hmm I did get a third sweep out of it at least. Cervix is apparently a bit more than 1cm dilated now but still quite far back and still got to shorten more... just waiting for them to let me go home now, desperate to get out for a decent walk to try and encourage things along afte the sweep!!

DirtyDancing · 24/04/2017 18:43

Marmite glad you are back at home now. I'm sure waiting (standing?!) in a hot waiting room was the last thing you needed today, but good you know either way. Btw how do they check? Do they actually take a look and see if waters still intact or test the water/ discharge? I'm just intrigued!

Took my little one for pizza and ice cream to tonight and it has cheered me up. Going to get my hair blow dried tomorrow as a small pic me up. At this rate I'll need to do my waxing and pedicure again, it's been so long! Not that I think I can be bothered, particularly the wax! Grin

dirtydancing just what I said the other day-'I'll need my eyebrows doing again at this rate' Grin

Meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow then sweep in afternoon. Haven't left House today so need to get out! I've been hoovering vigorously, baking and catching up on scouts work before I go AWOL.

marmite sorry you've had a frustrating day!

DirtyDancing · 24/04/2017 20:45

Crumble "Meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow then sweep in afternoon"^^ made me LOL. Sounds like any normal day...coffee then back home to and tidy up! 😂 The things we go through in pregnancy. Sending lots of labour vibes your way for the sweep.

I have a bit of backache today, but hey I've had it on an off for the last 6 months so I can't even start to get my hopes up! Hmm

Coloured · 24/04/2017 21:18

Well just had a long bath and a shave in preparation for tomorrow's induction😭 (that's unless he decides to budge tonight!) My DP claimed it feels like the night before you go on holiday! Cheeky sod, doesn't for me, I'm absolutely dreading it😩

crumble hope your sweep goes well for you tomorrow! Let's hope it starts things off for you🤞🏼

marmite sorry to hear about your trip to triage again—I'll be glad to see the back of that place once baby is out😂 let's hope this sweep works out for you before your induction!

DirtyDancing · 24/04/2017 22:23

Coloured hope you fake tanned! Grin wishing you all the best for tomorrow, you'll be having cuddles really soon ❤️

Good luck tomorrow coloured, and for your sweep crumble.

I had my second sweep today. Again, lots of cramps and discomfort throughout the morning but nothing 'real'. Final attempt booked in for Thursday, or it's induction at the weekend.

IAmALionTamer · 25/04/2017 08:22

Morning all! Any overnight developments?
coloured best of luck for the induction today. I hope all goes smoothly.
crumble hopefully the sweep today will get things moving for you.
My sons key worker at nursery has taken to shouting no baby!?! when I walk in each morning. I snapped today and told her that I am perfectly aware of still being pregnant. She probably thinks I'm a real grumpy cow & I think she's probably right Blush

crumblequeen · 25/04/2017 08:29

Good luck coloured fingers crossed for you.

Someone I know just had their baby a week early grrr!

marmitecheesetoast · 25/04/2017 09:04

Sending lots of positive labour vibes your way coloured hope all goes well and it's a nice straightforward induction. Will be thinking of you. That will be me tomorrow morning!

Hope your sweep goes well today crumble

I've had much the same from my sweeps peanutbutter. MW yesterday said I've given you a very vigorous sweep which will produce some quite intense pains so do make sure they are proper contractions that you can't talk through before coming in... ummm... just a bit of back ache mild lower tummy cramps actually Hmm

Had a really hot curry last night. Have managed to give myself a dodgy tum but not much else Envy

liontamer that sounds so annoying no wonder you snapped! I feel like throwing my phone across the room when I get another 'any news' text

  • especially from close family - do you think we'd not say?! Yes I'm well aware I'm incredibly overdue!!!

crumble she skipped the queue how unfair!!

TopKittyKat · 25/04/2017 10:12

Hi ladies,
Sorry for the radio silence. I didn't have a phone single in hospital and we only made it home at 8pm last night.

The m afraid induction didn't work quite as planned for me. I hope that doesn't dishearten those of you who are waiting to be induced.

The pessary got things going and I started contracted on Friday afternoon. Despite super strong contractions coming thick I didn't progress at all after 24 hours.
I was then put on the drip and needed an epidural because I was so exhausted and after another 12 hours could then start pushing. Undfortunately our baby girl got stuck and so it ended in a forceps delivery. She finally arrived at 6.49am on Sunday 23rd.

It wasn't nice, but it was totally worth it for our gorgeous baby girl!

I hope this doesn't scare any of you waiting for their inductions!

Good luck everyone. I'll still be checking in to see how you're all doing xx

TopKittyKat · 25/04/2017 10:13

P.S huge congrats to those whose babies have arrived in the meantime.

PPS the gas and air is brilliant Grin

crumblequeen · 25/04/2017 11:39

Congratulations kitty. Sounds like my first birth (without the induction). You forget it pretty quickly when you've got your gorgeous newborn to look after and cuddle! Hope you start recovering quickly.

IAmALionTamer · 25/04/2017 11:53

Congratulations kittyFlowers
Such a shame that it wasn't a completely positive birth experience for you, although I'm sure your gorgeous girl is more than worth it. I had a forceps delivery with my first and am keen to avoid them this time. I hope you recover swiftly xxx

whogivesaratzass · 25/04/2017 13:13

Congratulations kitty Flowers sorry it was such a difficult birth but I bet it was so worth it!

Anyone tried evening primrose oil capsule as a pessary? I was reading today that some ladies put them right up to their cervix before they go to sleep at night and it's meant to help thin out the cervix - sounds a bit eek but willing to try anything!!

TopKittyKat · 25/04/2017 14:30

Thanks ladies. Yes, it's totally worth it!

Good luck to all of you waiting to go into labour.

peanutbutter310 · 25/04/2017 14:55

Congrats Kitty!

DirtyDancing · 25/04/2017 15:25

Kitty huge congratulations. Glad to hear your are home and enjoying cuddles x

OP posts:
Coloured · 25/04/2017 15:58

Huge congratulations kitty! Not great news about how your induction went but I'm glad you and your newborn can have cuddles nowFlowers

I'm in hospital now being induced, they are monitoring me now and then giving me the pessary if all is well. Then they'll monitor me again and if everything's okay I get to go home and wait it out! So happy I might not have to stay on the ward after all (the thing I'd been dreading the most)

TopKittyKat · 25/04/2017 16:31

Good luck coloured. It took about 6 hours for the pessary to start working for me and then the contractions hit in. It's just unfortunate my body didn't respond to them. I have everything crossed that it does the job for you.
