I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Morning - good luck kitty!

Starting to feel a little more human. Had to have a blood transfusion which has helped. Felt like Hannibal lector ha ha or a vampire

Nurses took him for a few hours so got a few hours sleep which was great! Find I can't sleep as every little movement he does I'm watching!

Thanks for your support - really meant a lot

Women are fucking amazing! What we can do is just powerful!

We must start a post baby thread as I know I will great tips from you.

Looking forward to hearing about your babies

You got this!

DirtyDancing · 21/04/2017 07:14

Peanut glad to hear the transfusion has sorted you out and you have got a little bit of sleep. We shall have to call you Angel from now on!! How is your little one doing? How are you recovering from the labour? A post labour thread is a great idea :-)

Dandelion you could well be down the road from me. I'm Kings. Tommy's is a great hospital know a lot of Mum's who've had a good birth experience there.

Curry did nothing last night.. oh well it was v tasty! GrinI have a whole day to myself today and am planning on a walk and not a lot else!

Morning ladies!
Exciting day of cleaning my skirting boards planned for today. Invited the in-laws round (more tempting fate) for dinner as well!
So pleased to hear you are feeling better Peanut. Post labour thread sounds great even if it feels like eternity till I'll be joining you on it Blush

IAmALionTamer · 21/04/2017 08:26

kitty am thinking of you this morning. Hope all goes smoothly for you.
peanut I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better after the transfusion and got some sleep. I remember losing hours staring at DS when he was a newborn. I just didn't want to take my eyes off him!
gaston cleaning the skirting boards is a good idea, might encourage baby to make an appearance.
I'm off to the hairdressers this morning. At least when the baby arrives my hair will least look ok

Dandelionrarrrr · 21/04/2017 08:35

peanut I would love a postnatal thread, lots of people migrate over to Facebook but I'd really appreaciate a mumsnet thread 😊 I think I might get a bit lonely on maternity leave and as a second time mum I think I've not been reading up as much as I did last time so have forgotten lots of the recommendations etc. Feel like people will expect me to remember how life with a newborn is, and it will be a bit embarrassing when I don't :D.
dirty I'm probably a little further than you think, I moved out to bexley Heath but my DS was born in st Thomas' when I lived in lewisham but I still work in the borough and am still registered with my gp/midwife surgery so in a lot of ways it made sense to do it again there. It's amazing, almost like giving birth in a hotel you are so, so close to Big Ben it's beautiful. But heard brilliant things about kings too.

marmitecheesetoast · 21/04/2017 09:00

Morning all, any baby news overnight?!

Great to hear you're feeling better after the transfusion peanut, sounds like you've been through the ringer. Hope recovery is swift now. Also, loving your pep talk was just what I needed this morning - women are fucking amazing! We got this!!

That's not what you need with the marathon dandelion, im sure all will be fine though. Have you looked into back up routes?

Thinking of Kitty this morning and sending positive birthing vibes StarStar

Loving all the tempting of fate plans. I've booked a table for dinner tonight at a place me and DH have been meaning to try for ages but never got round to. Really looking forward to it, so we'll see if that does anything!

Off to the midwife shortly for 41 week appt and a second sweep. Sorry if this is a bit tmi but I've had a massive increase in watery discharge in the last day or two. So much so this morning when I got up I felt it sort of ooze out of me and soak my pants through. I'm pretty sure it's discharge and not waters but I guess I'll mention to the MW and see what she says.. Anyone else having similar?

Got a reflexology/accupressure appointment later this afternoon which I booked on Tuesday hoping I'd have to cancel! Hmm even if it doesn't work it was lovely and relaxing last week, a nice bit of pampering! I love having my feet rubbed!

I would also love a post-babies thread group on MN - if when baby comes! FTM so sure I'll be needing lots of tips and advice!

Happy ball bouncing and RLT drinking this morning all! Grin Ooh and yes to the scrubbing skirting boards idea too!

crumblequeen · 21/04/2017 09:08

Got up at 3am feeling sick and hoping things were starting but nothing else, just lots of low movement. Due date today, same as the Queen's birthday Grin

I've had loads of discharge too over the past couple of weeks, needed to buy pantliners, but seems to have slowed down now.

Have boys plus schoolfriends trampolining at 1pm so I'll try to have a little bounce, although it's one of those trampoline parks with kids careering all over the place so probably I'd prefer to keep a seat warm in the cafe Cake

GastonsWife · 21/04/2017 09:35

Happy due date crumble! Here's hoping your baby is in the 5% who come on their due date! But not at the trampoline park!

Coloured · 21/04/2017 09:37

Well nothing happened overnight for me!Sad the pains kind of eased off after a bath so I have no idea what they were — my bh's are usually not painful at allHmm

marmite in regards to the discharge question, I've been having that for about a week! I know what you mean about the gush when you stand up in the morning! Blush I didn't ask about it but I just assumed it was normal.. good luck with your sweep today!

kitty good luck with your induction today too, hope all goes well for you and you have a reasonably straightforward labour!

whogivesaratzass · 21/04/2017 10:00

No news here either Hmm

MW this afternoon and going to beg for a sweep! My folks are headed over from Asia next week to meet the baby, they are going to be so disappointed if the little one doesn't put in an appearance soon. They decided to fly home on my due date, I warned them I could be 2 weeks over but they never moved the flights, pressure much?!

Im going to ask the mw about the EPO on the cervix see what she says.

marmite not tmi at all, if we can't talk to each other who do we have? I have had it terrible and heavy for a couple of weeks, apparently for some it's normal. If there is an increase and it changes it can be a sign of your body getting ready. Here is hoping the second sweep or accu does the trick! A little weekend baby would be lovely.

Happy due date crumble!

Dandelionrarrrr · 21/04/2017 10:34

The discharge may be hind waters, so be careful. It might be worth speaking to a midwife about it, they will Probably get you to wear a pad for a specified length of time and see how many you go through. I had this with DS, it was a mortifying experience because the midwife sniffed the pad. She took the biggest inhale ever, I didn't know where to look because it was a hot day and I had been walking around. Obviously not diagnosing you but may be worth checking it over, as there is a risk of infection.

GastonsWife · 21/04/2017 11:05

dandelion that sounds traumatic. No dignity in pregnancy is there!

marmitecheesetoast · 21/04/2017 13:26

Tjanks dandelion, ratz and coloured I mentioned it to the midwife at my sweep this morning. She said she was fairly sure it was just discharge but to keep an eye on it and go to triage if there was more. So that's me had my second sweep. Cervix still much the same as a week ago which is frustrating - 1cm dilated, 50% effaced, still slightly posterior. Envy

And now I've just had a phone call cancelling my accupressure appointment this afternoon as the therapist has gone home sick SadAngry they've rebooked for tomorrow but the whole point was I wanted it on the same day as the sweep EnvyEnvy and now I've no plans all afternoon. Ggrrr. Feel a bit meh.

Oh god dandelion id have been the same! Cringe! Its all in a days work to them though I guess!

Hope you get your sweep this afternoon whogives

IAmALionTamer · 21/04/2017 14:01

Oh marmite how annoying about the cancelled appointment! Hopefully the sweep will do the job by itself.
whogives I hope you get your sweep. It must be horrible to have the additional time pressures, as if late pregnancy wasn't bad enough!
Hair is all done & I've just had a home visit from my lovely midwife today after my GP appointment for the UTI yesterday. Everything is Ok, baby is down low, 3/5ths engaged with 2/5ths palpable. She's ordered me to have plenty of sex to get things going. DH is very pleased Grin

DirtyDancing · 21/04/2017 14:04

Dandelion lol!! I naively wondered why the midwife told me to keep my pants/ pads if my waters break or I get any heavy discharge. Now I know. She's going to give them a good sniff!! Omg. Yes I'm towards Forest Hill so not close. Views from Tommy's are fab.. you can get a picture of your future prime minister right after the birth Wink

Marmite nothing is off bounds on here! I am changing my pants and panti pad 2/3 times a day at the moment. I can't not feel fresh and always damp down below. Gets worse at night and first thing in the morning for some reason. Yours sounds a bit more than mine, so good to be keeping an eye on it

Jasmine oil burning.. trying raspberry leaf cold with tonic and then sparkling water today. Will report back with any yummy recipes! Wine

Dandelionrarrrr · 21/04/2017 14:16

I had a sweep today, I ended up requesting it. I told her I was worried about the marathon she laughed and did it. She said she didn't think I should be worried about the marathon because My cervix was 2cm dialated, soft and anterior. She also removed some of the plug which was very positive. No signs really since though which is a bit disappointing.

sorry to hear about the acupressure appointment. I've googled the pressure points and had a go myself- perhaps you could have a go marmite I know it's not the same but might be worth a go :)

whogivesaratzass · 21/04/2017 14:44

Argh, no sweep for me, won't give me one until I am 10 days over and no induction till I am a full 14 days over!!! Confused at this rate my folks will be on their way back to work by the time bambino arrives. Think my mum will stay home longer thankfully but my dad will need to get back to work.

Rubbish about the acupuncture marmite but it might work out better, the sweep might take a little while to kick in and the accu tomorrow might just tip the balance - keep the faith.

Some good news though, bambino is finally off my spine and mw could feel all of baby's back so no more OP for me and is 3/5ths effaced.

Apparently obsessing over labour starting can delay it as it interferes with hormones, better to be relaxed and calm according to MW so just convinced hubby that a mum to be spa day is in order so all booked up for tomorrow- can't wait!

I was reading the RL tea won't get you started but can make the labour faster as it tones the uterus muscles. I bought concentrated tablets as the T was yuck plus they are a lot stronger - here is to a relatively quick labour!!

crumblequeen · 21/04/2017 14:54

Spa day sounds lovely-enjoy! We've managed a few weekends away without the kids while I've been pregnant and it's been very relaxing.

Hope the sweeps achieve something. I've got mine Tuesday if baby not born, then induction would be 41 weeks - next Friday. Still hoping for this weekend though as my mum visiting anyway so would be handy to have some childcare.

crumblequeen · 21/04/2017 14:55

I didn't dare try the tea this time as last birth was all over in 2.5 hours and I read that you shouldn't use RL tea if you had a really quick labour already as it might just make it too quick! Maybe that did help make the last labour so fast though as I used it then.

DirtyDancing · 21/04/2017 17:43

That's interesting about RL.. I was 50 hours in labour last time so I really need to drink it this time!! Had it as an iced tea topped up with lemonade and I was much more manageable.

What is everyone's induction plans that you've discussed with MW?

For mine it seems to be sweep at 41 weeks, pessary between 41 + 3 or 5 depending when they can fit me in. Then it's second pessary and then drip. I don't know anyone who has had a pessary so it's not something I've ever thought out before. Good news I can come hope after 1st pessary and wait it out, rather than stay at hospital l

No new yet then Dirty Dancing? 😜

marmitecheesetoast · 21/04/2017 21:42

Only 6 DirtyDancing?! Grin I've been tempted to hurl my phone out the window the last few days!

Thanks Dandelion, she showed me some of the pressure points last week so I got DH to massage some of them for me earlier!

We've just come back from dinner and I've just felt another trickle come out of me and soaked my pants through again Hmm should really have put a pad on earlier. Have just rung triage as although I still think it's just a lot of watery discharge I'm worried it might be my waters. The line was engaged for a while and when I eventually got through she told me they were chockablock and that she'd get the midwife to ring me back when she had a minute... so just waiting now... eek

DirtyDancing · 21/04/2017 22:25

Marmite did they call you back? I know my
MW said keep an eye on the water/ discharge it's okay if it is clear, straw coloured or pink tinged. Brown, green or fowl smelling then you need to inform them ASAP. Hopefully they went through that on the phone with you tho.

I've officially been pregnant forever. I can't remember not being pregnant. I think it involved wine, energy and a waist.. ! I'm officially turning off Facebook and whatsapp I can't cope with saying .. 'no news' Shock
