Glad you went in... is everything ok? Xxx

mistletoeprickles · 21/04/2017 07:27

Hope everything is ok lolly

I've just done my morning check in blue so pleased you got to touch Aviana. Now your home and balancing that with visits please remember to rest too Flowers

bear I'm almost jealous that your planning on working so far into your pregnancy. Just another two and a bit weeks for me now, with my spd I won't last much longer than that. Plus my boss is a cock so the less time I have to be near him the better!

I love how so many are looking at pushchairs and purchases and thinking ahead now. There was a time when I wondered how many of us would get to this point, now all our babies have a fighting chance. Purchases here are slim but that is because I have so much from DD. My pushchair is booked in for a valet which I found really exciting.
What's everyone buying clothes wise? DD was a winter baby so an August baby is slightly different. I'm thinking just vests and grows, then both if the weather requires it or one or the other if it's warm? I have some short sleeved short legged grows too.

I'm finally meeting my consultant today, definately looking forward to it because I have a lot of questions. I'm hoping for a sneaky peek too although I know he's ok with how busy he is.
We also have the name list down to 2! How everyone else doing name wise?

Hope everyone is ok xxxxx

Hi ladies,
All ok with the twins. They were having a quiet day. Strong heartbeats and they were moving! He said with both anterior placentas it is harder to feel them but to always come in if I am worried. When we saw them poor Twin 1 was getting kicked by Twin 2! But glad my mind was put at rest.

Mistletoe I have no idea what clothes to buy yet! I was thinking vests and baby grows but not sure when I'll get those. Buggy and car seats first on the list! Bedding confuses me! Not sure what I need....any ideas? Argh just want Monday to be here now.

Blue sending you lots and lots of love. Hope you're getting some rest in between everything. Sounds like you're doing fantastically with the expressing! Well done! Amazing you got to touch her too and she sounds like a feisty fighter alright. Stay strong you're doing brilliantly! xxx

Lots of love to all. I'm 26 weeks today. Can't quiet believe it in all honesty!!! xxx

mistletoeprickles · 21/04/2017 09:07

Glad everything is ok with your babies.

Bedding: we were always told to start with one blanket and go from there. From experience full baby grows are best as little arms get cold and disturb their sleep. Some people swaddle some don't. DD didn't like the restriction of swaddling.
I have some of those waffle blankets which will be my starting point. It's all a bit trial and error I think.
You will need lots of sheets.
Xxx

Bear2014 · 21/04/2017 09:15

Lolly glad all is ok. It's all so disconcerting isn't it!? Anterior placenta does make movement a lot more patchy for sure.

Blue lovely update xx Hope you get a bit more down time being at home.

Mistletoe yep I don't blame you, my colleagues are all ok and I have the option to work from home so it's all good really.

In terms of shopping we haven't bought a whole lot either. My Grandad insisted on buying us a new Bugaboo which is amazing of him, so that's in use now as our old one was knackered. DD was a January baby so I anticipate a lot less clothes and layers! We still have a load of vests so I guess he'll mostly live in them and I've acquired some footless baby gros as the ones with feet might be a bit hot in August. All DD's stuff was unisex though.

We're going for a Snuzpod and Sleepyhead, on recommendations from friends as DD hated the moses basket and would only sleep on me. Still need to buy them and some fitted sheets. I'll get a summer weight newborn grobag too. I would personally not bother with top sheets and blankets as bedding as they are annoying and a pain in the ass. Gro bags all the way. They have them in newborn size, or if baby is a chubber like our DD was they can go in the 0-6 month ones from 8.5lb. You can never have too many muslins, we still use them now and DD is 3 years old.

Very nice of your Grandad bear! How lovely!
I did look at the grow bags and wanted to get them but wasn't sure if the twins could use them from birth if they are little....I'll have to investigate but would love to use those.

I'm also def getting them a sleepyhead each. The reviews seem to be fantastic so they are on our list.

Yes I think he said both placentas are anterior! But was good to be reassured last night. xxx

ellesbellesxxx · 21/04/2017 09:47

So so pleased twins were ok :) xx

Bear2014 · 21/04/2017 09:52

Check out Merino Kids for tiny grobags, not cheap but you can sell them on xx

Thanks Bear I'll check them out! xxx

RafflesMaidenSister · 21/04/2017 10:43

Lolly so glad everything was OK with the twins!

Hope everyone else is doing well (particularly Blue and Aviana).

I'm feeling a bit behind you all at the moment - at only 21 weeks we're not really up to buying things (though my Mum has been buying stuff since 12 weeks (despite my objections) so chances are if we leave it much longer we will only need to buy the big stuff ourselves as we'll have a complete wardrobe until the Fig leaves home Wink).

Just wanted to ask, has anyone else has had trouble with breathlessness? I have a cold at the moment, which isn't helping, but I can barely walk the dogs (again!). Any top tips?

Lolly2803 · 21/04/2017 11:01

Aw bless your mum Raffles! My mum has some stuff for me too but I have refused to even look at it! Sounds harsh but just can't yet. She's bought some vests I think and then when my brother had his first 2 years ago she turned one of the spare rooms into a nursery so is giving me the cot and changing table from that until we buy them their own cots. She also bought £150 worth of pampers for my SIL but she didn't use them as she wanted to use another brand....so she has a few bits!

Yes on the breathlessness. I had it from quiet early on from memory. I used to be a total gym bunny but found walking up stairs made me really breathless and it still does now as well. Another delightful side effect! Has anyone else got tingly/pins and needle type hands? I've had that past few days.

Yep all was ok. Have had some nice kicks this morning as well so feeling a bit better on that front. Back to scanxiety now on their growth and blood flow! Argh the never ending worry hey?! xxx

Bear2014 · 21/04/2017 14:24

Not had any breathlessness this time (apart from being generally very unfit). I had it really badly at the end with DD as she was trapped high up in my body and my diaphragm was compressed, but that was a bit of a one off hopefully.

My mum has been very restrained, surprisingly! Although she may well have been going crazy and keeping it on the down low Grin My sister is due 7 weeks after us so she'll be in her element.

Bear2014 · 21/04/2017 21:14

Question for you ladies - would you take your pregnancy notes folder when going on holiday to Spain for a week?

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 21/04/2017 21:36

I wouldn't but Mr RFS would so comes to same thing Grin. No, I probably would unless really no space at all.

Lolly, my mum's been lovely. I totally understand how you feel but have rationalised my mother's buying by saying that my sister's having a baby v soon and it can all go to my niece/nephew if need be. Odd rationalisation but currently working for me.

No glad you've been breathless, but glad it's not just me.
Happy weekend everyone!

Lolly2803 · 21/04/2017 22:02

I am going to really start buying if all ok Monday - here's desperately hoping for good news!

Bear yes I would take them just incase. Also I'd be thinking if I don't take them then I'd end up needing them!! (I'm sure you won't but best to be safe!) xx

Bear2014 · 23/04/2017 08:17

Really hope tomorrow goes ok, Lolly 💐

We're off to airport shortly, armed with pregnancy notes, for our much less relaxing than last time babymoon Wink

Have a great holiday Bear xxx

mistletoeprickles · 23/04/2017 11:58

Have a great holiday bear.
We've just managed to find 5 days where we can squeeze in a mini break. It'll involve taking DD put of school but it is literally the only opportunity we will have this year so we're going for it.
3 weeks and counting!

Lolly2803 · 23/04/2017 15:30

Thanks Bear! Have a fantastic holiday!!!! xxx

FraggleRock77 · 23/04/2017 15:52

Good luck tomorrow Lolly. Jealous of all these holidays x

Lolly2803 · 23/04/2017 16:01

Thanks all. I am feeling nervous about what is to come. I just want some good news!!

RafflesMaidenSister · 23/04/2017 18:47

Have lovely holidays all!

Lolly, good luck tomorrow. Got everything crossed for you and your twins.

We, too, are scanning. It was booked reasonably late in the day (part of private scan package) so not had too much time to get worried about it.

Lolly2803 · 23/04/2017 20:38

Aw good luck Raffles! I'm sure all will be well. We have the funeral in the morning and then the scan is at 3.30.

I'll keep you ladies posted! xxxx

MrsCrabtree · 23/04/2017 23:20

Thinking of you for tomorrow morning lolly, and good luck to you and Raffles for tomorrow's scans.

Hope you're having a great holiday Bear! Thinking of you Blue.

Trying to start getting my head around buying stuff, sorting the baby room, booking into NCT, hypnobirthing etc, looking at nurseries (!) as advised by others but it's all a bit much! Confused just about managed to rearrange my wardrobe to only contain bump-friendly stuff today so at least that's a start. Can't believe how much bigger I've got - everywhere not just bump Blush ! Of course am glad tho really xxx

Hope everything went ok lolly Flowers
