Really pleased to hear you won't be having an antenatal stay Bear. I'm just home from hospital after a two day stay. More issues with pre-eclampsia but on BP meds now and iron tablets and feeling less wretched! Being closely monitored. Soooo pleased to lay on my own bed. Just looked at all the going home pics Blue! Congratulations xxxx

Bear2014 · 18/07/2017 13:15

Ugh sorry you've been in again Fraggle! I bet you can't believe you're still hanging in there. Do they know roughly how big baby Fraggle is now?

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 18/07/2017 14:04

I've not been scanned since 30 weeks. Will be scanned on Tues next wk before they take the stitch out. When was your last scan?x

Bear2014 · 18/07/2017 14:44

I had one at 36, not for any special reason but everyone at my hospital gets one. I had it at 35+4 and baby measured at spot on 7lb. So he's probably closer to 7.5 now!

RafflesMaidenSister · 18/07/2017 17:52

How lovely are the photos of Aviana going, and at, home? Grin So lovely that she has made it home, Blue. Hope you are enjoying it (and not worrying too much).

Fraggle - so sorry you've been in, but pleased they have managed to make you feel more comfortable. Sorry to be ignorant, but does having the stitch out next week mean that it is time?!

Bear, great that you don't have to go on the antenatal ward. Sounds like he is going to be a big boy. Even on the more conservative scan, Fig measured at 5 lb 2 at 33+1 so think whether humungous or merely big, he certainly won't be small.

Just had the midwife cancel my appointment this week twice, the first time after I'd waited 40 minutes at the doctors' surgery, which is not ideal. Supposed to be on Saturday now. Hopefully someone is going to tell me the alleged "plan" to get the potentially giant baby out ...

Hope everyone else is well.

Bear2014 · 18/07/2017 18:32

That's rubbish to be stood up like that Raffles. Hope you can get a good plan in place. Baby sounds a good size, try not to be alarmed though as it's manageable and he'll be all cute and chubby 😍

MrsCrabtree · 18/07/2017 18:44

Lots happening everyone. Bear gosh, sorry it's all got a bit crazy for you. You seem remarkably calm!! Raffles, mega annoying about the midwife. I'm sure Fig will be just perfectly proportioned and ready for cuddles! Glad you're home and comfy Fraggle. Stitch out next week, you've done amazingly getting so far. Hope your planning is going well Mistletoe?

Im on the work finishing countdown now, so exhausted. Had to get checked the other night as baby hadn't moved much for a few days but all seems ok and since then it's perked up again. Typical!

Can someone post Blue's blog link again? I have mislaid it. Sounds like fab stuff has been happening Blue! Yay. Thinking of you too lolly! X

FraggleRock77 · 18/07/2017 19:20

Thanks for the info Bear, 7lbs is a great weight! That's so annoying Raffles but baby is a great weight too! How many days do you have left at work MrsCrab? Must be hell in this heat?!
I'm really hoping stitch out equals baby out! I can feel a huge pressure on my stitch frequently. Although some women have the stitch out and then go to term!!! It will be done on labour suite by my consultant and then I'll have to stay for a while to see what happens. I could be next!!!x

Blueroses99 · 19/07/2017 05:51

Hi everyone! Thanks for your kind words, we are so happy to have Aviana home with us but it does feel a bit surreal. We have our first outing together today, just back to the hospital, but I'm panicking a bit because we have a change bag for her but it's empty and I don't know what we need in there 🙈

Poppy and George went home a little while ago, hope you are all still doing well Lolly.

Bear the home situation sounds like a nightmare and I hope you get it sorted soon, or at least stay somewhere comfortable in the meantime.

Fraggle good luck with ditching the stitch. As you say, some go into labour pretty quickly and others go to (or past) full term. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Raffles annoying about the midwife but hope you get seen soon. I'm not sure how accurate the pregnancy growth scans are but Aviana is 5lb 3oz at 37 weeks now!

MrsCrab yay for finishing work soon. Hope you have a good rest. My blog is over here: blueroses99.wordpress.com

mistletoeprickles · 19/07/2017 08:44

blue it was lovely to see and I'm so pleased for you. Our changing bag with DD always contained nappies, wipes, nappy bags, milk, muslin and a spare top for me incase I was thrown up on and spare clothes for DD . As well as one of those foldable changing mats.
I'm sure there's plenty more things I've forgotten but those are a definite.

I'll catch up with everyone later Brew

Blueroses99 · 19/07/2017 10:59

Thanks Misteltoe! Didn't even think about spare clothes for meBlush

FraggleRock77 · 19/07/2017 11:16

I used to always carry a light weight, small little throw to lay baby down on if visiting people's houses. Sounds a bit much but just saved the embarrassment of cleaning any sick off other peoples carpets etc. doubled as an extra blanket on the push chair during winter. Boots do tiny packs/pots of everything so your bag can be lighter too. And a toy to chew/suck! X

Lolly2803 · 19/07/2017 12:50

Ladies!! So sorry for my radio silence I've been so so busy and a bit poorly and just trying to figure out this mum thing!
Blue just seen Aviana is home! Omg!!! I am SO happy for you!!! Hope all goes well. xxx

Had a brief flick through the updates. Bear hope you're feeling more comfortable. Great you've got a date and looks like you've done a fab job of cooking baby Bear! Going to be a big strapping chap!

Fraggle sorry to her about the PET. That was reason for my emergency c Section amongst other things. Hope you're being super closely monitored and if you feel unwell then get yourself in there.

Mrs Crab how are you doing? Won't be long till all the babies are here yay!!

We are doing well. The twins are putting on weight which is fantastic. Poppy is now 5lb 2oz and George is 4lb 12oz. The Sepsis he had meant he is a few days behind Poppy but I'm confident he will catch up soon.
Man having two is hard!!! When they cry at the same time I never know what to do or who to go to! George is more demanding so tends to be him but I hate leaving them to cry.
We had a horrible time last week. I got mastitis and was very ill with a very high fever and in so much pain. My DH was throwing up all night and the twins were so unsettled. I didn't have any sleep and that was on top of already limited sleep. Thankfully my mum came to help so I could sleep and recover. Since then I've stopped expressing. I couldn't keep up feeding two babies and then expressing. I wasn't sleeping and just sometimes didn't have time! Once all my frozen milk ran out I've guiltily switched to formula. The babies haven't seemed to notice the different so just got to think I did 4.5 weeks so that's better than nothing. The breast feeding didn't work out but hey ho! I should know that nothing ever goes to plan!

Lots of love to all and hope you're all doing well. xxxx

Bear2014 · 19/07/2017 16:00

Hi Lolly! Great to hear from you and it sounds like you're doing an amazing job. Can't imagine how hard it must be, one is hard enough. 4.5 weeks of breastfeeding is great, they will have had all the goodness of the colostrum etc. I've never had mastitis but hear that it is horrendous. Hope you are now feeling much better and you can get on with enjoying your beautiful babies xx

Blue sounds like the others have covered the changing bag basics.. invariably something will be forgotten at some point and you will have to freestyle/ask another mum but it's all character building and part of the parenting 'adventure'! I still get caught on the hop and DD is 3.5.

It's my second to last day in the office today, I've been handing over to my very capable maternity cover lady. It's weird letting go but I didn't miss work at all last time and I'm looking forward to being able to focus on everything else and to maybe even put my feet up fleetingly before Baby Bear II puts in an appearance. He's definitely going to be a strapping chap, that's for sure.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

lolly it's lovely to hear from you. I'm so pleased the babies are doing well and I'm glad your feeling better. As others have said you've done a great job breastfeeding.
How long do you have your DP home for? I bet your mum was a god send.

We are going to need a thread for "sub-fertile with babies" soon especially as the seem to be coming thick and fast now.

raffles growth scans can be wildly inaccurate. DD was predicted to be huge, she was 8lb 8oz so not that big.
I've had two in recent weeks due to the diabetes, my predicted birth weight is under 8lb but he will be born at 38 weeks.

blue I hope your trip to the hospital went well today

blue I'm not surprised your ready to hand over. It feels like a life time ago I did the same (about 6 weeks ago I think) but it's been lovely. With DD at school I've managed to do a collection of random things as well as resting. My mum is continuously checking I'm resting now and DP is calling several times a day to make sure I'm not doing anything too crazy. He called one day last week and I was hoovering curtains!

So place your bets, whose going to be next? I'm booked for 12 days time so does anyone care to beat me? Grin

mistletoeprickles · 19/07/2017 18:04

Obviously the second blue tag was for bear. Sorry stupid auto correct

Bear2014 · 20/07/2017 09:17

Anybody but me to give birth next please! We're not remotely ready.

Glad you've been getting your feet up Mistletoe - I definitely have been on and of. Hoping for more of it after today. xx

RafflesMaidenSister · 20/07/2017 09:44

I think Mistletoe's idea for a "babies for the sub-fertile" thread is a good idea, but I suspect I won't be joining you all for a while.

I know it's in the nature of giving birth, but I could really do to know what is going on now. At last consultant appointment (with condescending woman) they kept saying they have a plan, but didn't seem willing/able to explain it to me, which has properly annoyed me. If they think the baby is super-big I can have a section on my insurance, and would prefer this, simply because I would get an idea of what is going on sooner. I just need a letter from my consultant on this, but can't get an appointment to see him, because I need to book it through my midwife - who keeps cancelling on me (supposedly seeing her on Saturday). I'm also starting to panic that they are going to make me go over 40 weeks, despite having said that they wouldn't, and I just want a guarantee that I'm not going to be stuck worrying about a failing placenta for a fortnight or more.

So now I've stopped whinging, great news that we can shortly expect some more babies - but wonder if Fraggle will beat Mistletoe?

So sorry you've been poorly Lolly, and great that the twins are getting bigger and stronger. Hope Aviana is still thriving at home - funny that she is about the same size at 37 weeks as my fatty is supposed to be now!

Hope everyone is surviving the weather - it's rained here so blissfully a bit cooler.

Bear2014 · 20/07/2017 11:28

Grr Mistletoe that sucks. I hate it when they say they will do something and then they don't. They don't seem to realise how important communication is when dealing with new/expectant parents and how anxious people get.

Try not to get too freaked out about having a giant baby. Our bodies can accommodate them, and he will come out safely in the end.

Looks like it's going to be me.....I'm in the early stages of labour!
I'm just heading into hospital where hopefully they will begin my steriods

RafflesMaidenSister · 20/07/2017 11:48

Good luck mistletoe!

FraggleRock77 · 20/07/2017 12:12

Best of luck Mistle xxx

MrsCrabtree · 20/07/2017 12:38

Woah, good luck mistletoe! X

MrsCrabtree · 20/07/2017 12:43

Ps. Hi Blue and Lolly! So great to hear from you.
Thanks for the blog link Blue, what amazing pictures! She's gorgeous. So great you're home and taking it all in your stride!
Lolly - wow sounds like you had a rocky ride last week, hope you're in recovery. Sounds like you did an amazing job breastfeeding for that long and the twins will definitely have got all the benefit. Now they just need to be fed and loved which is what those lucky babies are getting!

Can't believe there will be more babies soon, we will need that new thread Smile

Bear2014 · 20/07/2017 13:27

Good luck Mistletoe!! Amazing!

That previous message was actually for raffles I'm getting in a muddle.
