Yep fanny daggers and Braxton Hicks on the commute - not fun! My tip would be to evict the baby Grin

I've gone from hoping for an early delivery to the opposite- freaking out that we'll be bringing him back to a hotel room! Obviously we would just go to my parents' - the hotel is just to enable work and nursery to continue. We've got asbestos and electricity inspectors this week then de-humidifiers straight after that, then we need replacement downstairs flooring and plaster and paint job in the living room. It will be weeks but we could feasibly get back in before it's completed. The insurance company and friends and family have all been great anyway.

Hope everyone else is doing well! 👍

Oh Bear! That sounds bloody awful! You must feel very stressed?! You sound like you're getting organised Raffles?x

Bear2014 · 12/07/2017 11:43

Hi Fraggle, how are you getting on? Great that you're hanging in there still, baby must be nice and chubby now.

Weirdly I'm stressed but not at the same time. It's exposed the fact that our electrics weren't very sound (OH shocked herself in the process) so it's best to have that resolved before we bring up small children in the place. I'm not comfortable anywhere on Earth at the moment, so arguably It doesn't really matter where I am! DD is pretty non plussed by it all but she is being spoiled rotten with unlimited screen time, bad food etc. Thank goodness for nursery days.

FraggleRock77 · 12/07/2017 14:15

Like you say Bear, at least it's all getting sorted now instead of in the midst of a new baby haze!
My epic pregnancy saga continues! I'm now being closely monitored for possible PE. I look like I'm in heart failure due to the swelling and have daily headaches. I'm so annoyed as i was really starting to enjoy the end and of my pregnancy and getting out lots. Now I'm back in my bed and non functioning. This baby can't arrive soon enough for me!x

Bear2014 · 12/07/2017 14:17

Oh no Fraggle that sounds horrible! At what point would they just deliver then - sounds fairly likely to be soon? Poor you.

As far as I'm concerned nothing about late pregnancy is enjoyable but it definitely must have been nice to experience some of it and not be terrified about having another tiny preemie. Keep us posted! xx

MrsCrabtree · 12/07/2017 18:43

Oh dear Bear, what a palava. Glad your OH is ok after that, how scary. Hope it can all get sorted swiftly and that baby stays put until a suitable moment Confused

Raffles sounds like you are making progress, how exciting. I feel your commuting pain, Im doing it up to 37 weeks too. The fanjo area is not the best at the moment is it?! I can barely walk with the SPD/PGP and just constantly need the loo. I've been so glad of the rain this week at least to help with the heat.

Fraggle you poor thing, you really have been through it. Glad the baby is still in there but understandably you want to get it out soon. What's the plan?

Baby crab seemed to have turned around at latest MW check, which is great. I'm not convinced it won't turn back again but at least I know it can behave itself Smile So uncomfy at night nowadays not getting much sleep but I'm not complaining as I can see this will only get worse over the next few weeks... and months..!

Bear2014 · 13/07/2017 10:14

That's good that baby has turned mrscrab. Massive bombshell at my scan today - so has mine!! I'm still going to book in my c section date tomorrow but if I go early I'll see if they'll let me give it a go naturally.

Here is a glimpse of my fatty - 7lb at 35+4

Great news MrsCrab! And wow Bear! How adorable. You must over the moon that baby has turned!?x

Bear2014 · 13/07/2017 11:08

Thanks - yes I can't believe it! I've never had a head down baby before. I thought I felt more kicks in the ribs but didn't like to get my hopes up. I would like to try a natural birth, the size puts me off a bit but if I went into labour a bit early I'd be more confident I could do it.

Hope everyone is feeling ok - it's definitely nice that the weather is a bit fresher. Commuting is hellish though, so props to my fellow commuters still battling it out!

No closer to getting back in our house, it's all taking forever. We might be house sitting for friends from next week though, which would be loads nicer.

Hello everyone

It's good to see everyone is doing pretty well.

bear and mrscrabb* you must both be really pleased that the baby's have turned.

bear have they suggested an induction? My DD was 8lb 8oz and I had her naturally with just gas and air. My labour experience was actually really good, not going to lie though, the crowning was the worst. Rubbish news about your house though.

raffles your very organised. Does it make it all very real now?

fraggle hope your doing ok.

Things aren't as good here either. I'm now injecting insulin as my sugar levels aren't in normal limits. The good side is I will have to be delivered between 37 and 38 weeks which is very close. I'll be given a section date tomorrow.
I'm feeling heavily pregnant now too, my tummy muscles all the time now and the spd is worse but I guess that's to be expected as the baby is gaining around half a pound a week

Bear2014 · 13/07/2017 13:03

Sorry about your GD and SPD, Mistletoe. Sounds like you're best off getting that baby out! Keeping my fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you.

They don't induce if you've had a previous C-section so it's natural labour or wait for my booked section date, which will be in the 39th week (booking that in tomorrow). I'm quite relaxed either way, apart from the fact that I want to have a house to take the baby home to, haha! But these things generally work themselves out and if not, there are loads of people poised to look after us.

RafflesMaidenSister · 13/07/2017 13:54

It's all getting exciting isn't it? Sounds like we will have some more babies soon.

Fraggle, so sorry you are feeling so bad. It's really unfortunate, but I think you should be so proud of yourself - you have had so much to go through and you've nearly done it.

MrsCrab, I can't sleep much either - it's driving me loopy. Everything is just so uncomfortable, but not long to go now.

Mistletoe, so sorry that you are having to take the insulin. Are you feeling rotten with it all? Good luck for tomorrow, hope they don't make you wait too long for your section and your stomach muscles stop hurting.

Bear - the timing is shocking. Glad your OH hasn't been (too badly?) injured and that notwithstanding that you can't go home at the moment, you potentially have some options other than the hotel. Hopefully it will not be as long as you fear it's going to be.

Lots of turning babies - Fig has too! We had an extra private scan yesterday because the previous one showed Fig as being huge (think on line for 11 - 12 lbs at birth - I'm 5'1" and that terrified me). From yesterday they think he is only around the 74th centile but with very long legs. Still keeping an eye on it. I don't want to even try getting him out the normal way if he is that big ...

MrsCrabtree · 14/07/2017 08:59

Great news on the turning Bear and Raffles, clever babies. Adorable pic Bear! Raffles, good luck with the weight monitoring - fingers crossed little fig will just be nice and tall. Sorry to hear about the insulin mistletoe. Exciting you're getting a section date today though, wow it's all getting real! Have you got your section date now too Bear? Actually having the baby still seems miles off for me. If I went overdue it could still be another 8 weeks! Hope you're coping alright today Fraggle x

Bear2014 · 14/07/2017 11:39

Sorry everyone is struggling with sleep and aches and pains so much, it's like torture isn't it!

I've just been booked in for 10th August when I will be 39+4. I would have fought to move it forward a tiny bit but less inclined to do so now with house situation. Same exact gestation as DD too, which seems fitting.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Raffles my OH is fine thanks - her hand reading hurt at the time and it was scary having to have an ECG but she was v lucky having had a shock off the mains voltage!!

Morning ladies

I HAVE A DATE.....baby mistletoe will be born ok the 31st of July. The consultant quickly decided that due to the GD she wouldn't be messing around so he'll be born at 38+2.
My household is officially in countdown mode and I have a list of jobs I need doing. Mainly a big clean ready for a stream of visitors and a big/simple food shop.
In guess you haven't guessed I am a massive planner so I can begin to get sorted now I have a date.
Unfortunately they are still not happy with my sugar levels, I believe part of the issue is I was diagnosed so late therefore we're still in the settling process. I expect I'll get a hang on it about 3 days before my section!

bear I'm pleased you have a date too. It must be really tough being in a hotel room Flowers

mrscrabb what is your date?

MrsCrabtree · 15/07/2017 09:31

Congratulations Bear and Mistletoe on your delivery dates! How exciting to have something to plan towards! Can't wait for baby news. Fingers crossed your sugar levels stabilise mistletoe. My EDD is 22/8 so still feels like ages away. Am worried baby is back up the wrong way now too but it's so hard to tell, does anyone else find this? There are big lumps and bumps all over that don't seem to bear any correlation to the shape of a baby, and the movement locations seem random too! I am trying to be chill though. It's going to be so weird when baby arrives, I still can't imagine actually having one! X

RafflesMaidenSister · 15/07/2017 15:40

Congrats Mistletoe! That's so close now.

MrsCrab - my EDD is 28/8 so even further away.

Bear - I electrocuted myself as a teenager - it's scary and bloody painful!

mistletoeprickles · 16/07/2017 14:26

Yep a little over two weeks and counting. I just plan on some really important with DD as soon as school finishes.

22/8 isn't far away at all. Does anyone else feel like their pregnancy is going quickly? I don't know where the last 36 weeks have gone!

Bear2014 · 16/07/2017 20:10

That is soon, Mistletoe! Just getting it into July Smile so exciting!

I've got 3 more days in the office so on countdown for that. Then we're house sitting for friends for the week, which will be better than the hotel- then hopefully back home!!

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 16/07/2017 20:12

Mrscrab - it can be hard to tell head from bum so try not to worry! There's plenty of time for baby to get into position anyway.

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 18/07/2017 10:23

Blueroses I know you're probably far too busy to check in here nowadays understandably but it's so amazing that Aviana is home! What an absolute superstar and incredible really given that the rest of us are still waddling around pregnant..

We're trying to keep it all in perspective, first world problems and all that, but yesterday we had an indication that we need to be realistic about having this baby and not having a house to bring him home to. The asbestos test in our living room ceiling was positive and the time line of getting it sorted out seems to add 2 weeks to the timeline of the overall works - mostly just due to waiting on specialist contractors. So we'll most likely be moving from our friends' house to a serviced apartment next week. If I can hang on til my section date of 10/8 then it will probably be just about ok but I really feel like I could go into labour any minute which is making me so nervous!

Hope everyone else is doing well. It's warm again today!

OP posts:
mistletoeprickles · 18/07/2017 10:39

Bear it must be so hard for you. I'm at the point where I just want to be at home because it makes me feel safe as well as doing stupid cleaning jobs. Hopefully you get back in soon.

It was lovely to see all the pics of Aviana going home especially as she was the first baby on the thread.

I hope lolly and the babies are doing good too

Bear2014 · 18/07/2017 10:57

Thanks - we are just trying to be organised with hospital bag, doing a bit of pre-washing for the baby etc so that for any eventuality we'll be fine. I was dreading a potential stay on the antenatal ward which won't now be happening so i am still pleased about that.

Good that you're doing your nesting etc., it's all very soon for you! xx
