Mistletoe, it's exciting you're nearly there, though sorry it is such a stressful time for you.

Hope everyone else (and babies) are also good. x

Bear2014 · 28/06/2017 12:54

Hi Mistletoe, exciting times! Have they spoken to you about colostrum harvesting to help with baby's blood sugar? I'm going to ask the MW about this on Friday because my milk took forever to come in last time and I'm worried it will happen again.

Hi Raffles! All good thanks, hope you too.

Hi all, hope you're all ok and gearing up for another hot few days Confused. What's everyone's news? We're all heading to the finish line now...!

Im ok except that found out that the baby is breech. I'm only 33 weeks so I know there's lots of time for it to turn, and initially I wasn't worried but DH has read some stats and is worried it means there's something wrong with the baby which is really upsetting me. I know logically that that is unlikely, I guess I am just pumped up on hormones making me feel emotional. I'm sure it will work out.

mistletoeprickles · 04/07/2017 14:24

mrscrabb please don't worry about baby being breach. I was told they don't worry about positioning until 36 weeks. It doesn't matter in my case because I'm a section but baby is regularly head up.

bear it hasn't been discussed because my sugars are very well regulated so as it stands there shouldn't be any concern with baby's sugar levels. I'm seeing the consultant next week when all questions will be answered and a section date will be given. I can not wait for an official date. I need something to work to towards and with DD finishing school in less than 3 weeks I would like to plan childcare etc. We have family very close but it does mean they will be booking a few days off to help so DP is available for me. Their obviously more than happy to help though.

raffles a tip for when it's hot, which I think it's due to be later this week, is sitting with your feet in a bowl of cold water. Also helps the swelling too.

Not much else to report here. We have everything, all clothes are washed and sorted and the hospital bag is packed. I was dreaming about an early arrival and the bag not being packed so that's sorted and the dreams have stopped!

blue I'm still checking your blog daily and enjoy your updates and pictures.

lolly I hope you and the babies are doing well xx

Bear2014 · 04/07/2017 20:18

Hi all, yep we're in the final straight! Can't wait for some more birth announcements 🤗

Blue and lolly thinking of you all and babies.

Mrscrab sorry about the breech thing. This is generally the bain of my life and the reason I have c-sections but the vast majority turn by themselves. Maybe look into moxibustion if you want to encourage baby to turn. Why would there be something wrong with the baby though? My DD was the most awkward breech ever and it never occurred to me there would be something wrong with her. Hip dysplasia can happen in extreme cases, just don't buy a baby bjorn carrier.

Mistletoe glad it's all being controlled well, that's a relief.

Oh no not another heatwave!! Hope it's less extreme this time.

Fingers crossed for a date for you soon mistletoe! Great everything is ready. Glad you're ok Bear. Not too long now.

Thanks both. He saw some info saying that turning head down is like the "first developmental stage" and so if baby doesn't it might mean there's something wrong. Apparently the risk of the baby having a disorder goes up from about 2% to about 7% in breech babies. IDK. I wasn't worried at all and I don't care if I have to have a c section if the baby is ok, he just freaked me out. I think the NHS will actually give me moxibustion in a week or so if not turned by then. I'm doing all the suggested things and keeping my fingers crossed.

Thinking of you Blue and lolly! X

Bear2014 · 05/07/2017 06:13

Wow I've never heard that. Really try not to worry, i know it's hard. It can be because they get the cord wrapped round or get stuck, but also true breech is a legit safe birthing position and our midwives last time would have let me deliver like that as they were experienced at it but as we were more transverse it was a no no xx

MrsCrabtree · 05/07/2017 07:57

Thanks bear. This is why Google is bad and it wasn't even me this time! Glad to hear your DD was just fine. I have friends who had the same and their kids are fine too so I know the likelihood is it will be ok. Hope the hot weather today doesn't get too much for everyone x

mistletoeprickles · 05/07/2017 08:15

mrscrabb step away from Google Grin your frightening yourself. Everything will be fine, there any many many babies born each day who are breach. I have a memory of reading something about being on hands and knees can help the baby move, it was a long time ago though.
Your on the final straight so please try and enjoy it.

I'm really going to miss my bump this time, I think it's because there's a good chance this will be my last pregnancy

Bear2014 · 05/07/2017 09:25

Aw I really wish I felt like that Mistletoe but this 3rd trimester this time has been pretty much hideous and I can't wait for him to get the hell out! I'm really suffering with this pregnancy hernia thing right at the top of my bump, and it means I can only sleep on my back, propped up on 3/4 pillows with a beanbag under my knees. I am getting more and more delirious with tiredness and wish people would stop mentioning stocking up on sleep before the baby comes! As if you can do that with a 3 year old anyway Grin

OP posts:
mistletoeprickles · 05/07/2017 09:47

I've found with this pregnancy and DD that sleep in late pregnancy changes anyway. I've been waking naturally every couple of hours.
To be truthful on DP day off I have been stocking a couple of hours in the day.

I'm also fed up of hearing rest, you must rest....I'm bloody restless and NEED to do things!

Bear2014 · 05/07/2017 11:59

Yep as if we can rest with everything going on! That said, I have no problem sinking into the sofa at every possible opportunity. I can't bloody wait to finish work.

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 05/07/2017 14:39

MrsCrab, I'd never heard that either! I was breach and other than clicky hips (which both of my non-breach nieces have too) I was fine. While clicky hips were a pain for mum (sorry!) they have never had an impact on me. Fig is currently bum in hole too, and I have been told to bounce on an exercise ball (though as I get closer I'm kind of terrified and liking the idea of a Caesarean more).

Thanks for the tip Mistletoe, I'll definitely try it as it heats up again. It's sad that you will miss your bump. I've now started missing my actual body and am desperate to feel normal again - which is quite sad in its own way. I feel pretty selfish to be honest, but I'm very uncomfortable. Not as uncomfortable as you sound though, Bear. You must be absolutely exhausted!

Hope everyone else is doing OK. Can't wait to hear about some more babies!

Bear2014 · 06/07/2017 08:46

Raffles there is a lot to be said for an elective c-section, it's very calm and safe. Recovery can be tricky but so can it with any birth! Baby still has a good chance of shifting, though.

Hope everyone dealing with the heat ok! Was disgustingly sticky last night.

RafflesMaidenSister · 06/07/2017 16:26

Have decided I will go with medical advice. But will not be disappointed if that advice is c section Grin

Just had to give dates for my first post-birth work commitment. That was strange!

FraggleRock77 · 06/07/2017 17:28

Hello. Just catching up with the thread. Sorry to hear you've been having worries MrsCrab and Raffles. There's still lots to get stressed about! How are you all coping in this heat?x

MrsCrabtree · 06/07/2017 19:15

Oh the heat is hideous isn't it?! Make it stop! I only have one outfit left that fits!

Thanks for all the reassurance everyone. I am doing all the weird exercises and keeping my fingers crossed it all works out. Seems I can't escape the feeling this was all some kind of cruel joke to get my hopes up of having a baby... even this close to d day. I sometimes wonder if that feeling will ever go away?

Raffles that's pretty scary! How long will you have off?

How are you Fraggle?

Mistletoe and bear I really DK how you are managing in this heat, with baby and another child to run around after! Hope you have some ice lollies x

FraggleRock77 · 06/07/2017 19:26

I'm good thanks. Major nesting all but complete. Feel really happy that most things are done and just can't wait to put our baby in its crib now! So bloody sick of this heat though! RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!x

FraggleRock77 · 06/07/2017 19:28

You'll be holding that baby before you know it MrsCrab. Is everyone else 'nesting!' Or just sweating like me!!x

Bear2014 · 06/07/2017 20:18

Hi Fraggle - still pregnant woohoo! The heat is awful, it makes DD quite listless though so she's not as energetic as usual. We're all going to a splash park thing tomorrow.

I'm nesting a bit, we've painted the baby room and got the snuzpod up in our room. Need to wash little clothes and get bag packed.

Nothing fits me either! Who knew i would have grown out of my maternity wardrobe by 34 weeks 🤣

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 06/07/2017 20:27

Hi Bear. Splash Park sounds great! Sounds like you're well under way with things. I feel your wardrobe pain! I only have a pair of smart jeans and one other pair of trousers. I'm still in my own tops but they're getting to there limit! I refuse to buy anything else. I didn't think I'd get this far! I do look truly scruffy but i could not care less!!!x

RafflesMaidenSister · 06/07/2017 22:23

Raining here! Pretty epic thunder and lightning here too. Way too many boxes to unpack to nest. Doing my best but I'm always knackered when I get in from work.

Self-employed so not really having maternity leave. Working to clear my desk for mid August then not going in until October. Will work from home if any clients want me though. It's swings and roundabouts really though because I do get periods where I've got very little work and just don't have to go in so it'll even itself out.

Sorry everyone's so uncomfortable with the heat. Hope you're feeling calmer MrsCrab. Fab you're still going Fraggle - you must be feeling more confident.

Hope you all get the rain soon! Xxx

RafflesMaidenSister · 11/07/2017 13:46

Hi there, how is everyone getting on?

Bear2014 · 11/07/2017 20:16

Hi Raffles hope you're well? I've had a major distraction from pregnancy woes this week as we had a massive water leak in our house and currently living in a hotel! Hopefully should be back home and able to get organised before baby comes but it will be cutting it fine! Total nightmare.

Otherwise I have my 36 week scan on Thurs and finish work next week which will be a massive relief.

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 11/07/2017 21:51

Bear - what a nightmare! Not what you need. Hope hotel is comfy. When do they think you'll be back home? So sorry you're not at home - must be miserable.

All good here. Still trying to sort out from move, but have maternity nanny sorted and just negotiating salary with full time nanny - so getting more real here.

Bet you will be delighted to finish work. I'm commuting until 37 weeks but it's killing me already. Stabby fanjo does not cover it! Any tips gratefully received.
