Hi everyone

Some how I've managed to completely miss the thread, but then I hardly know my own name most days.

Really pleased to see everyone is doing well and those babies are all cooking nicely.

Everything is ok here, but have had a gestational diabetes diagnoses so I'm struggling a bit whilst trying to get the balance right. Baby is doing well but now I've been diagnosed ill be having some growth scans and my section will be brought forward a bit.

If I'm honest I was quite upset because everything was going so well and we had a section date to work towards, now it's all up in the air again buy I'm sure it'll work itself out

Lolly2803 · 08/06/2017 07:50

Mistletoe! Welcome back! Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, what a pain. A girl at my NCT had it as well but is controlling by diet. Is that the same for you? I wouldn't worry, it seems to be common. These things never go to plan but I totally get what you mean about things being up in the air. But there's nothing you can do but just go with it so try not to worry. Just try stay relaxed as you can. Hope you're doing ok and great news the baby is ok too. Just look at the scans as more chances to see baby Mistletoe. Lots of love xxxx

Bear2014 · 08/06/2017 09:48

Fraggle that's great news. Keep on cooking that lovely chubby baby! My DD's little boyfriend was born at 28.3 too - he's now the biggest 3 year old I know.

Mrscrab sorry you're feeling crappy, I totally feel your pain! It's like lugging a big ball of achy concrete around the place. Keep your eye on the prize xx

Hi Mistletoe nice to hear from you. Sorry about the GD. It does seem to be very common. Several of my friends have had it, but don't panic, none of their babies were as big as mine. And if you can get a slightly earlier section, there is less 3rd trimester misery!

Hope everyone has a good day and manages to get out and vote! xx

How is everyone doing this week? Hope you all had good weekends and babies that are supposed to be inside still are, and those that are out are thriving.

Just wanted to ask a quick question. Does anybody else have muscular pain along the front of their vagina? That's not a very good description, but I get really sore on the front - feels like muscular pain but didn't know you had muscles there. Particularly uncomfortable when I role over in bed with my legs together. On this basis assumed it wasn't PSD - which I thought made it harder to do stuff with legs open, so to speak.

Sorry if that all sounds weird. Not particularly worried (should I be?) but just find it odd.

MrsCrabtree · 12/06/2017 15:19

Hi Raffles, sorry you're in pain. I'm struggling with pain in that area too at the moment - mine feels to me like a mix of bone type pain, muscles and ligament type pain, general pressure and then all sorts of stabby fanjo pain added on top! Hurts most when walking/standing/rolling over. Similarly I don't have a problem with open legs..! Baby movements are all very very low down and constantly needing a wee so I think baby's head might be jamming down there. I'm seeing midwife this pm. I've been wearing a wide elastic bump support belt thing today which had helped a bit. Do you have an appointment soon where you can ask about it?

Lolly2803 · 12/06/2017 18:46

Hey all,
Raffles I've had that too and especially if I move quickly in the morning or something.
Update from me - I am in hospital. Came in about an hour ago and had my first lot of steroids earlier. I'm showing pre eclampsia signs and the blood flow to Twin 1 is high as is my BP. Second lot of steroids tomorrow and then delivery on Wednesday. Well that's the plan anyway!
I'll be 33+5 on Weds. Feeling anxious and nervous and a whole mix of emotions really!

Hope you ladies are all ok xxx

FraggleRock77 · 12/06/2017 18:48

Hope you're feeling better MrsCrab and Raffles? Wow Lolly! Wishing you lots of luck. Sounds like they're being very sensible and you're already at such a good gestation. But yes, i can imagine it's a shock too x

MrsCrabtree · 12/06/2017 19:39

Woah lolly, big news. Sorry you're in hospital and it must have been a whirlwind but so glad you're being looked after and you've got a good plan. Almost 34 weeks is such a good number, those babies will be just fine. Keep us updated if you can! X

Blueroses99 · 12/06/2017 20:59

Hi ladies, sorry I haven't been around much, I have a lot of catching up to do but the last post from Lolly caught my eye.

33 weeks is a great gestation and there are twins in NNU younger than that doing well. Have you had a tour of the NNU yet? My roommate from when I was admitted months ago had PE and was given a show around. Not sure if you're still at the same hospital as before but that's where I spend all my days (here now!) so please let me know if you need anything. And good luck for Wednesday!

Waves to everyone else xx

Lolly2803 · 12/06/2017 21:56

Hey Blue! Yes I am at the same place! How are you getting on? I read your blog every day and sounds Iike you're all doing well. Aviana is gorgeous!

Haven't seen neonatal or anything. Don't know anything about C Section procedure or anything but hoping tomorrow they will tell me more and what to expect etc.

xxxx

RafflesMaidenSister · 13/06/2017 05:28

Good to hear from you Blue. Following your blog. Ariana is gorgeous.

Lolly, good luck. Must be very scary but you have got them so far. Hope it all goes well today/tomorrow.

Hope the midwife had some helpful advice MrsCrab and hope everyone else is well.

mistletoeprickles · 13/06/2017 07:30

lolly your in the best place and I look forward to hearing about the babies on Wednesday. You've done amazing to get this far, gestation wise. My friend has her baby at 33 weeks last year and she's amazing, you wouldn't even know she was early.

blue I also catch up with your blog daily. I'm so pleased Aviana is doing so well.

raffles did you speak to your midwife about the pain? From my experience it does sound like spd. I have good and bad days with it but now I've finished work it's a lot better.

Not a lot to update here, I'm still annoyed with the gestational diabetes mostly because I'm always hungry. Eating a low carb diet is not filling me at all. I'm seeing the dietian today so hopefully they'll have some ideas of filling food. I was eating lunch at 10.45 yesterday! The hypos seem more frequent too and they are horrible. This morning is the closest I've come to passing out and all I did was get put of bed! The upside is is get to see the baby more as I'm booked in for some growth scans.
DP and I have decided on a name also. We had two originally, one I slowly went off but DP still liked but he's now declared we're not using it and he likes the second one better which suits me Grin

mistletoeprickles · 13/06/2017 07:31

blue sorry about the spelling mistake, my phone has auto corrected.

Lolly2803 · 13/06/2017 08:59

Thanks ladies! Didn't sleep well because of my bloody restless legs!!!! I reckon I've had 40 mins. I was having really strong tightening pains and some pain under my ribs so the doctor was checking me at 1am then I had my final set of steroids at 3.30am. Then my legs were horrific, the worst they've ever been!!
I feel like I know they'll be ok it's just the unknown. How long will they be in etc. Just all the worries! But hopefully I'll feel better when I know more today.

The gestational diabetes sounds awful mistletoe! Low carb is not what you need when you're pregnant. It's all about the carbs!! Have you finished work now? Go careful if not, those hypos sound horrible and fainting when you're out and about is awful! I've passed out a few times on the train before in the summer and woken up in a seat with no memory of anything - embarrassing to say the least!! Exciting you've decided on names. We've got one of each decided but need to decide on option 2 for each. A job for today perhaps!

Hope you're enjoying the sunshine! I have a nice open window at least xxx

Bear2014 · 13/06/2017 09:31

Wow lolly, amazing, scary and exciting! You're all definitely in the best place. Wishing you so much luck! C-sec itself is fine, just take it very easy after and don't push it. Can't wait to hear what you have xx

Sorry to hear everyone is in so much discomfort. I don't have too much experience of pelvic issues etc as neither of my babies have wanted to venture that far down. This one is still camped up in my ribcage causing shortness of breath, no appetite and this weird stomach muscle splitting/hernia, which apparently should resolve after the birth like it did last time. Still looking at c-sec around 39 weeks.

Blue, lovely to hear from you. I read your blog too and you are all amazing! Aviana is gorgeous xx

Don't get much time to MN anymore as I'm much more hands on looking after Aviana (we love cuddles!). Thanks for following the blog 💕

Sorry to hear of all the troubles, GD, SPD, PE are all standard pregnancy conditions, worrying but also manageable. I always wonder whether a 'normal' pregnancy is too much to ask for after infertility!

Lolly, I'm sure you've got support but PM me if you need anything. I have to go to Antenatal to get a cuppa as it's just around the corner and the nearest hot drink station.

Lolly2803 · 13/06/2017 20:15

So at I think 4.03 and 4.09pm
George and Poppy came into the world!
Both 3.5lb and in neonatal just for breathing but doing very well. I even got a cuddle from Poppy!! We are totally and utterly in love with our beautiful twins.

Congratulations Lolly!!!! What beautiful babies, you must be over the moon. How wonderful, you're a mummy! X

FraggleRock77 · 13/06/2017 21:44

WOW! Huge congratulations Lolly. Lovely picture. Really pleased for you xxxx

RafflesMaidenSister · 14/06/2017 14:38

Hi Guys, hope all going well, Lolly (and everyone else)!

Just wanted to say thanks for all helpful answers about SPD - which I had ruled out because I had a legs closed issue not a legs open issue. Seems to be easing off now - so can't have been very bad in the first place - sitting on a swiss ball at work seems to be helping at the moment.

Also wanted to say sorry for moaning about stuff that really isn't abnormal (as Blue points out) and is manageable. Think I need to count my blessings a bit more.

Hope you're all enjoying the good weather. x

FraggleRock77 · 14/06/2017 15:49

Thinking of you Lollly. Raffles, you should moan, groan, shout and scream away. The whole idea of this thread is to be able to talk and express worries and thoughts. Goodness knows I've done enough of it xxxx
