Hello. How's everyone doing? Pleased to hear you enjoyed NCT Lolly. We missed our group due to DS arriving early and never managed to get there. A lot cooler in temperature where we are today which is great and my new GP prescribed medication for acid is making a huge difference. 28 weeks today. I've lost track where others are at now?x

Bear2014 · 04/06/2017 19:59

28 weeks today Fraggle! That's great. It's much cooler, hope you're a bit comfier in your bed now! Hooray for strong heartburn drugs too 👍

Lolly so glad you're enjoying NCT. It's a lot to take in isn't it?!

I'm 30 weeks today. Can't believe I possibly have 9-10 weeks left. I'm huge and uncomfortable and my skin feels like it can't stretch any more! I'm almost as big as I was with DD at term Shock

Lolly2803 · 04/06/2017 20:33

Wahoo to ticking those weeks off Fraggle. I prefer the slightly cooler weather too as unless my feet are up the heat makes the swelling in my feet even worse than it normally is! Glad you're feeling better after getting some heartburn meds.

Yes Bear! It is a lot to take in but I feel a little bit more prepared than I was. DH hasn't complained either which is great!
I am 32+2. Got urine test and BP monitoring tomorrow and then a scan. Not till 4 pm though but looking forward to seeing if they're ok.

Anyone else getting period pains. I had them last night off and on and the odd one today. Is that Braxton Hicks? Or just stretching of some kind?
Aw Bear I know what you mean about stretching skin. I feel the same! Can't imagine being bigger and more uncomfortable than I am now. Oh the glamour hey!! xxx

Bear2014 · 04/06/2017 20:38

I literally don't know how you do it with 2. I know mine is a fatty and will realistically be 10lb at birth but still!! Not enough cocoa butter in the world Grin xx

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 04/06/2017 20:55

I've only experienced braxton hicks as a tightening and my belly going like concrete but I think they are period pain like for some people.

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 04/06/2017 21:47

I hear you Bear about the stretching! I just can't stretch any further. The baby kicking is fine, but baby moving around is utter pain now. No room left at only 28 weeks! Freaking out about how much the baby will have put on again. Last time it was 10oz in two weeks!! I've never had Braxton Hicks Lolly. Must be so difficult for you with two in there. I'm not sure how you're doing it! Much respect. Good luck for tomorrow x

FraggleRock77 · 04/06/2017 21:54

How are you getting on with your search for a nanny Raffles? We are lucky that our bb sitter will do nights too! Whoop! Are you feeling better Crab, have your glands gone down?x

Lolly2803 · 04/06/2017 22:24

To be fair I don't know any different so I think that helps! My restless legs and swollen feet are the worst I find the legs the hardest. I've hardly slept the past two nights but I'm so so so tired tonight I am hoping for a really good sleep!

Fraggle and Bear you're obviously doing a great job in cooking babies! I am really hoping the twins are beefing up a bit! xxx

Bear2014 · 05/06/2017 10:22

Lolly the legs sound horrendous! I am lucky on that front. My sister who is only 23 weeks gone has got SPD, sore legs, swollen feet and carpal tunnel! Nightmare.

I do have this weird thing that I had right at the end with DD - when I wake up in the morning I have a really achy sore patch about an inch below my boobs in the middle about the size of a 50p that sticks out a bit. I can only guess that it's my insides herniating out or my stomach muscles splitting or something. It's really weird and kind of subsides during the day.

MrsCrab yes I hope you're feeling loads better xx

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 05/06/2017 10:54

That is strange Bear, never heard of that! Mention to your midwife maybe? I've got carpel tunnel too. It's so weird. It does ease off during the day thankfully but I usually wake up unable to move any of my fingers!! I slept well last night!!!!!! DH gave me a leg and feet massage and then I fell to sleep, only got up once for a wee for a change and woke up at 8.30!! Feeling much better after that, I so needed it. But yes restless legs are by far for me the worst part!

Anyway, hope you're all having a good Monday and feeling ok? xxxx

Bear2014 · 05/06/2017 11:12

It's so weird. All my pregnancy symptoms are just directly related to my organs being squished out of the way, obviously Grin

Glad you slept better!

My sis is an acupuncture devotee and her guy has given her this tiny hammer with needles on it that you tap on your wrist and it supposedly eases the carpal tunnel. Weird. At least all these things disappear when the babies get evicted, thank goodness! xx

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 05/06/2017 11:18

I've avoided the restless legs too but my carpal tunnel in both wrists is dreadful! I often wake up with no feeling in any fingers!! Luckily my DH is a hand specialist and getting me some splints to wear. Good to hear you managed a decent sleep Lolly x

Lolly2803 · 05/06/2017 11:28

It's so weird isn't it Fraggle?! I find my knuckles are sore most of the time and hard to move and my wrists just ache.
Oh wow I've not heard of that hammer before! Sounds weird but I kinda see the logic. I really hope it goes soon as the babies come though. What with all the treatment before falling pregnant i have forgotten what it's like to feel just normal!!

MrsCrabtree · 05/06/2017 18:11

Hullo yes thank you all I am feeling a bit better now. I have calmed down Smile I managed to have a horrific blood test where they tried 5 times/locations to get the blood and now I have bruises all over my arms and hands but otherwise fine! Hmm Getting a LOT of kicks to the bladder which is delightful and sleeping very poorly but all part of the fun... yes?! I'm almost 29 weeks now, still can't believe it. Glad everyone is ok x

RafflesMaidenSister · 05/06/2017 20:20

Glad everyone's hanging in there. How're you doing Fraggle? Had growth scan today. First of all thought stomach was big so risk of gestational diabetes. Then measured again and it wasn't but second time head on 97th percentile. Sent to day assessment unit who were totally unconcerned and tried to book me in for a further scan at 32 weeks except I already have one booked.

So a bit stressful but apparently most likely just about getting Baby out ok. Now sitting on floor of my flat as all furniture's gone to the house. Which is exactly how I spent my first weeks here so I like the symmetry.

Nanny search not going that well - have delegated sifting CVs to Mr RMS who has - predictably - done nothing. He has promised to pick tonight though.

Hope you're feeling less bruised soon MrsCrab and glad you enjoyed NCT Lolly. Am going to get myself signed up.

Bear2014 · 06/06/2017 09:49

Raffles good to hear it's all going well. Measurements, percentiles etc wind me up something chronic. Pretty much everyone I know who has a baby has been stressed by them at some point but we all have perfect, lovely, unique children. Someone has to be big and someone has to be small! I'm being subjected to all kinds of scrutiny, GD tests etc but I just cook big babies. My DD has tracked the 91st percentile since birth and continues to do so.

My friends are having trouble finding a nanny too, sounds stressful. Hope you find someone!

I'm super chuffed today as we picked up our second hand Snuzpod last night and I've never had such a bargain in my life! She only charged us 40 quid for it and threw in 6 fitted sheets and 2 newborn sized gro bags! So that's a big tick off our list.

Stay dry all!

Lolly2803 · 06/06/2017 10:09

Hi ladies,
Bear what an absolute bargain!!! That's fantastic!! More budget now for some chic scandi baby clothes ;-)
I know what you mean about the centiles Bear and Fraggle. It can just worry you for no reason! I've just tried to almost ignore it. The Dr said yesterday to me that Twin 1 was 9th and Twin 2 12th but they use singleton charts so kind of pointless in a way. As you said we all come in different shapes and sizes!
Sorry the search for a Nanny isn't going that well Fraggle. Must be so tricky but hopefully you'll find a fantastic one soon.
How are you doing Mrs Crab?

So my monitoring was ok yesterday BP borderline and no protein so that's good. Scan was good with both twins growing along their curves. She wants me to have more monitoring and a consultant appointment again on Thursday to keep an eye on things. And then another scan on Monday as the first blood flow reading to Twin 1 was high but then the second and third were normal so she wants to check. She did say likelihood is we will deliver early and she mentioned some steroids but we didn't talk dates or anything. Feeling quiet nervous today. I'll be 33+3 on Monday when we have the scan. The weight estimations yesterday were Twin 1 3lb 8oz and Twin 2 3lb 10oz.

Also this weather!!! Omg it's awful!!! Like winter almost. Hoping we haven't seen summer already. xxxx

Bear2014 · 06/06/2017 10:23

That all sounds really positive, Lolly. And pretty good baby sizes too! If you add that up, it's already as much as one full term baby! Grin

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 06/06/2017 10:32

Yer I felt good knowing the babies were ok and things did look good. Just when she started talking about delivery I got really nervous and felt a bit panicked!!

FraggleRock77 · 06/06/2017 11:50

Sounds really positive Lolly. And what a bargain Bear! Very jealous. I'm thinking about getting a snooze thing this time round. Did you have one with your first? Did it make a difference? They're expensive new. Know what you mean about cooking big babies Bear. My DH is 6.4 in height and big built. He was over 10lbs at birth and so were his other three siblings. His mother showed me a picture of him at three months and he basically looked like a bloody toddler! Pleased i won't get to term, hopefully!!!x

Bear2014 · 06/06/2017 11:57

No we originally had a moses which we hated and ditched after a week, then just put her in the cot in our room. But our room now is smaller than our old room and a bedside crib is the only option in terms of floor space. I am excited though as it looks really good. DD breast fed like a demon for months so hopefully it will help me get more sleep if I can master the lying down feeding thing.

Big babies are awesome! I literally never felt nervous handling her and I'm terrified of newborns. It makes the third trimester a bit of a bind but hey ho xx

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 07/06/2017 16:24

Just an update from me. Scanned today and my cervix is still holding up. Baby is head down and has gained another estimated 12oz (3lbs 4oz!) Will be 29 weeks on Sunday, which i can't believe. Seems like a life time ago from 24weeks. Baby is already bigger than DS who was born at 29+3! How's everyone else doing?x

MrsCrabtree · 07/06/2017 17:43

That's great news Fraggle! Nice one, you must be so relieved. And amazing bargain hunting bear. Exciting but scary having discussions about delivery lolly..! Glad things still looking good. I'm 29 weeks now and starting to feel it. Tummy/pelvic area hurts and getting harder to lug myself around on the commute Confused dunno how I will manage for another 8 weeks but going to have to somehow!

Lolly2803 · 07/06/2017 18:23

Great news Fraggle and a great weight for. 29 weeks!! Hang on in there you are doing fab!!
Hope the cooler weather is helping the commute at least Mrs Crab. Try and rest as much as you can when at home. Can you ever work from home?
I'm ok thanks! Back at consultant and in for monitoring tomorrow so will see how things are looking then! xxx

FraggleRock77 · 07/06/2017 20:49

Good luck for tomorrow Lolly. Sorry to hear you're suffering MrsCrab. It seems life a life time doesn't it! The only positive thing about having a prem baby last time, was missing all the third trimester aches and pains. Not looking forward to it x
